FUBO is trying desperately to hang on but I don’t see them continuing beyond this year.
I don't know. I feel the Disney, WBD, and Fox are in for a rude awakening especially if they don't get the rights to NBA or NHL, for example. Fubo might have a chance teaming up with a Comcast, or Netflix, or Amazon to offer their services.
Hope you are wrong. I have been with them ever since I started streaming. In Texas we don't have a lot of choices for Regional Sports. I guess if it happens, I will be forced to go with DIRECTV Stream. I had their satellite service for years until it got so unaffordable, so I went with streaming. I tried YTTV, Sling and Fubo. I went with Fubo and stuck with them.

VENU - pronounced "expensive" (that's my guess).
AI 'Upscaling' Old Video - Depends how they do it. If its to sharpen the picture quality up to 1080p display technology (such as older movies) then I'd be for it, but if its any other manipulation then a big NO from me. Some videos (like older movies) were made to be in B&W and it would be a guess to figure out the proper colors, not to mention re-colored movies I've seen have a 'washed out' appearance.

I'm interested to see what Venu has to offer. Fubo has a nice lineup of channels, but that price is a bit much for me. One of my friends dropped them, not sure if the price was the reason. Thank you Luke for all you do.

Venu, pronounced "ven-you." As in, a sports venue. Also, the WNBA reference had me laughing. World Poker Tour has more viewers.
It's likely Venue, without the "e", as a play on sports venues.
Say it like MENUE, but it's VENU, I hope with the NFL that maybe we can choose a team and just watch your favorite team every week without paying for every team.

Yeah, if the estimated monthly charge is true, it will be dead on arrival. No one will want to pay 50 bucks a month for just sports in this economy. I wouldn't care if it was in the high 10s, early 20s per month, but not 40-50.
Venu will most likely start with a low price then after a year or two they will raise it again and again.

Congratulations on 10 great years. I barely remember that small hitch. But I do remember hoping you wouldn't leave us entirely. From that glitch, I miss the gal. Of the two of them, she had the personality.
I was really happy with FuboTV but I doubt if FuboTV will get the Discovery channels back. It's really disappointing because I did watch those channels often.
QUESTION FOR LUKE: regarding Disney’s proposal to integrate Max into a Disney+/Hulu bundle, if I subscribe now to Max through Hulu+Live TV , would I have to cancel that first before getting the Disney/Hulu/Max bundle?

My nvidia Shield TV Pro (2019) supposedly already does video AI upscaling. Granted it's been awhile since it's been updated, but they were already doing years ago. Also, it's probably not how the video upscaling would probably be done today. Eh, let's see what happens.

@@benstandard Right now I can get Mets game when they're on over the air every few weeks. Actually switched to Hulu for SNY and it's cheaper than Fubo, My problem id when hockey season starts up again in the fall. That's why I hoped this service would have locals too. I'd gladly pay what I am now,

Regarding AI upscaling.
I think it's necessary. You're not going to draw much of an audience if your content doesn't look good.
That said, you need to be careful. I remember when Ted Turner had some classic b&w movies colorized. One of them gave Frank Sinatra brown eyes.
I'd also be very careful with anything that could mess with the creators original intent.
Venu....sounds like more corporate control...not much to be excited about here
Ai should remaster popular older black and white TV shows of the 1960s to color.
I can appreciate AI's contribution in retaining and reproducing old-time TV shows AS LONG AS AI only remasters the quality of the video and allows it to be available via streaming and other platforms. I don't want to see AI chop and screw up the great classics that need to be protected.
I would be careful.
AI isn't always great at color and has been known to cause issues that need to be fixed.

I think FUBO will be the next big service to shut down. There is nothing good happening for them and hasn't been for some time now. I just don't think they can survive.

... and so the rise in the cost of streaming ramps up. Pap sports belong on cable, where they ruined things long ago.

I'm losing interest in sports anyway. I don't really care if it's on stream. I'm back to cable now.
Max value for an all sports package should be no more than $25. And that is only if it has ALL the sports. I’m not paying $40-$50 for sports, and then have to pay to watch other things. I also don’t want to have to have any cable requirements at all. That means you ESPN. I don’t want regular ESPN content to be tied to cable or a streaming service. If I were to buy this at whatever price, I should be able to watch it without further requirements. Also, regional blackout rules need to be eliminated if this goes forward.
Hope it doesn’t cost too much.

I appreciate that my DVD player upscales the picture for my HDTV, but that's enough for me.
I am excited by the news that Disney+ will be giving us a second season of Hawkeye. That first season was a lot of fun.
I've been a happy cord-cutter for just over ten years myself, when I first realized I could save $230 a month by cutting off my cable service.

No you'll have to get whatever app airs your local teams. Reason because people either want sports or don't. Easier to keep other TV packages low deleting live sports. If you just want sports you'll pay less not getting all the fluff channels. So it kinda nice they're helping us to save money by only paying for what we want.
People are buying VCR players cleaning tapes vhs movies more offline now days
I'm curious as they said the acc and sec sites will be there but a lot of that is an on demand accn+ and secn+. I only care about those, not the linear channels.
