Loved all of the glassware you purchased. Great job of videoing each store with all the treasures to be had. I agree with another commenter on here about the cute sunflower pot (5:55). It was so cheerful looking. Here’s hoping to seeing more of the thrifting videos. Always something new and unusual to be found in them. It was fun virtually shopping with you! 😊🌻🪴
I've recently started enjoying going thrift shopping, because I've found some great stuff for plants and that is the only reason I go there. I've found shelves, vases, pots, cover pots, plant stands, you name it. And the great thing about it is that they get new stuff every day, not like TjMaxx and other stores where you'll probably see the same things over and over again until they are all sold out or the season changes 😂
I was surprised at how much stuff was actually inside some of these stores! I thought the prices and selection was pretty good! Yes, I love tj maxx but I know what you mean by it being the same stuff 🤗
Hi Melissa I love thrifting too. The pieces you got today are very nice they’re older glass the first piece with the two handles is a sugar bowl there would’ve been a creamer that matched it the 2nd cup is just a cup but it is old glass also last piece that’s kind of purple that is also old glass its a little wine glass and the reason it’s purple is because it’s old and some old glass if it’s in the sun it will turn purple. At Goodwill I buy black rod iron candleholders to use as risers for my plants
Love the thrifting video format because I thrift all the time myself. The little wicker trays are paper plate holders. They were popular back in the day.
I like to thirft cake stands, trifle bowls, and wide base candle holders to help elevate plants. I also have been known to turn a bowl upside down and place a plant on it.
I have recently started thrifting and gotten back into antique shopping. I bought a few different sized glass plates to put under plants instead of the flimsy plastic trays. I love finding different sized bowls or cups to use for my sewing/quilting supplies. Try looking for cake or cupcake stands to elevate plants, I've used them in a few places around my house.
@@plantsbymelissa I bought an antique two tiered little table for plants and it was about $75 which I thought was a really good price for the DFW area of Texas. I really liked this video as well and enjoyed the content.
The prices seemed pretty good! My local thrift stores have raised their prices quite a bit so thrifting isn't as good of a deal as Dollar Tree. I like this content and thank you for taking us along!
I really enjoyed your thrift shopping video. I often check out the local thrift stores for plant items and always find something unusual. Totally enjoy all of your shopping trips.
Love it! I recently went to a thrift store. I found a lamp for a grow light! A friend found a 3 light stand for grow lights for me. Also found a vintage Corning Ware bowl with a handle & glass cover. ❤
Perfect timing, you inspired me! Need a small table/plant stand for my Esqueleto prop I potted up and put on a pole. Home goods and Marshals was originally on my list. I donate to Goodwill and St. Vincent DePaul often, but don’t think about going there.
Hoping you find something for your esqueleto! It was so much fun to go in and look around ☺️ my esqueleto pushed out a new leaf recently and I’m obsessed with it such a beautiful plant 🥹
✨Congrats on 20K!, Love a good thrifting vlog!!✨I love to look at all of the pretty pieces. Haven't been thrifting in a long time. I'm going to have to make time soon. Like that you are doing various types of vlogs!✨
Thank you so much!! So appreciative of every single subscriber 🥹 Trying to change it up some from the usually plant repotting but I’ll have a lot more to come! It was nice to get out of the house for a little bit too ☺️
@@plantsbymelissa haha! There are some Serious thrifters that always seem to carry an energy with them. It’s like they want us to move soon as possible so they can get there hands on the treasure on the shelves. I love painted older pots! The eclectic look is definitely it for me. Now I’ve been upgrading pottery and planty things instead of buying more plants 🥰💕 be well
The first item is a sugar bowl. It is an antique. The cups are called sandwich glass. The third is a cordial glass for liquors. All items that a grandmother would own.
I went thrift shopping yesterday, Tuesday. I didn't find any planty items. I did find a pink princess philodendron at Walmart for just about twenty five dollars. Great find. Love the shopping video!
I’ve gotten chunky candle stands to elevate plants. Also, I look for shallow bowls to use as saucers. Sometimes you can find nice baskets and vases for cover pots.
In the last 3 years I’ve had the hardest time finding vintage planters and I used to find them all the time 5-10 years ago. I’m glad I started collecting that stuff before the big plant boom because the prices on that stuff are crazy now. Fun video! Definitely try it again some time! You live in the land of flea markets, so maybe check one out sometime! I guess there’s a multi-state flea market once a year all the way down the east coast.
Ahh yes! I’ll definitely have to check flea markets out too didn’t even think about those! Thank you so much for watching! I’ll have to do another one sometime here ☺️🫶🏻
Hi. Watched your video on fa price plants. Just a question please Mellisa . I have a large snow queen . How can I get large leaves on a pole like your marble queen. Should I take a cutting of the largest leaves and then plant that. Any tip would be appreciated. Even a marble queen. Do you take a cutting of larger leaves first sand plant that. Anyone else have tips. Thanks for advice.
The leaf size doesn't matter too much when starting them because the plant doesn't have enough root system to support the growth so cuttings with big leaves will revert back to being more juvenile until they can climb and grow new roots. I would start with a small plant with a few vines (not long) and attach them. It will climb faster than cuttings since cuttings have to grow roots and establish first. Give it some time and it'll continue to grow and mature. Snow queens in my opinion is just a highly variegated marble queen. The more white they have the slower they will grow since they have less chlorophyll. Hope that helps! I do have a moss pole playlist with lots of videos that goes into more details on them.
Oh my gosh . Fast reply. Thanks so much. I am fairly new at this but love to try new things. I am in northern Ontario so we have 8 months of winter and 4 months of bad skiing. Lol. Thanks so much
The purple colored glassware you got is most likely amyseth glass. If you put it in the sun it should become more purple. I like that you were very selective and chose better quality pieces.
Oh awesome! I’ll have to try that out and see what it does! Thank you! It’s beautiful! I loved all the glassware I find myself looking at those items the most! 🥰
Hello, the first item you kinda tapped on it and I could hear it had a high pitched sound so I think it is crystal. You can Google how to tell if glass is crystal I'm pretty sure it has a high pitch sound
Amazon! You can buy it at a pet store as well. I can link what I buy here www.amazon.com/dp/B00JGQIY48?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzmeli0992-20&creativeASIN=B00JGQIY48&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.1OODWALE01UEU&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_m_asin

Yes, do more thirifting vids. I saw while you were at a couple goodwill's they had clear glass vessels that would be great for pon and a plant.
Yes!! Definitely 🙌🏼

It’s crystal in all probability
I’m surprised you couldn’t find something to turn over to raise a pot in the back of others.

I’m not sure why I haven’t! It was so fun to look at everything! ☺️
Yesss love a good thrift
