Without question, this is one of the best hunting videos I’ve ever watched. Intelligent, pushing the envelope, it’s what I’ve come to expect from Mathews.
This is what a story looks like… it’s not the same old random person telling you what the wind is, what the temp is, what the pressure is, why they named a deer, etc etc…. Story telling has become a lost art in the outdoor industry. This story was exceptional!
Just made a 45 yr old Marine father of 4 cry..congratulations on making the best video I’ve seen anywhere. The passion and skill are what we were taught growing up in south Louisiana and what better way to save those memories for your kids than exactly what you did. I’ve been hunting elk in Colorado since ‘06 and while I have a bunch of good bulls with stories behind each, I never considered this format(for my boys and daughter). Thank you for opening my eyes! Semper Fi
Love everything about this film. Finding the balance in life between husband, father, outdoorsman, etc is a real challenge. You’re doing it really, really well. You are doing it right. Love this.
This Bret Seng guy has been one of the main Mathews film guys I look forward to every year. This film is next level on so many levels. Just awesome. Thanks for sharing.
And that in itself is the fundamental problem with UA-cam. It does not reward, suggest, nor promote quality like this video, and instead, prioritizes junk that fogs and confuses the minds of kids and other viewers alike. This video should have 2M views in 3 days. Its not just about hunting, its about life, kids, family, and sacrifices. Cheers on an incredible film and representing all aspects of life.
Just started bowhunting 2 years ago at 54 years old after over 30 Fall Seasons on a football field. I love that this is a message to your children. This was a great video because it’s about the journey more than it is about the hunt. And thank you for showing Brett’s family praying together. Such an important part of his story even if it wasn’t a major part of the film. Bravo 🙏. Makes me proud to shoot Mathews
Not sure what I can say that hasn't been said already, exceptional footage, editing, and story! As an avid Adventure and paramotor pilot, I have faced numerous times where I question if my passion is over shadowing my responsibility as a parent. I've said many times that I'm a better parent because I live my life in a way with meaning and purpose. And I hope to pass that down to my children. Thank you for reinforcing that and setting such a great example to your young boy and other children.
Nicely done man! I love seeing stories of others who had a dream, and vison for learning to fly and then seeing them make that dream a reality. I did the same thing with learning to fly paramotors so I could fly in Iceland. So I fully understand what you were feeling when you were on your hunts making your vison come true. I absolutely loved this!
Absolutely the best video I have watched in years! I was so vested in the story! I wait every year to see the videos especially Mr Seng's stuff its always so pure and soulful! You sir are, what, this sport is and is about! To you and your beautiful family, Thank You for letting me tag along on this awesome story ride!
Obviously the most important statement about that crash was, “I can’t see my fuel”. Man, you can’t count the number of dead people due to fuel starvation. Many of them killed within a couple of miles of their destination. As a former Air Force pilot, I can tell you that the most useless things you can have when flying are altitude above you, runway and airspeed behind you, and an empty gas tank. Just a suggestion in case you are looking for a solution, it seems to me to be the amount of time that engine will run at wide open throttle on a full tank of gas. Fill up the tank, strap the machine down, and time it. Then when you go to fly, remember you have to either carry more fuel in a can with you, or start back home when you’ve been airborne less than half the time. Use your watch or phone with a timer and alarm. Fly safe. Great Bull. Congratulations on you and your wife raising good kids.
Haven't even made it through the whole video. Best video I have seen in a while. As a hunter and paramotor pilot, you have shown me another use to put both together. I would love to visit Montana. Hopefully I see you get an elk, I still haven't finished the video but will. Congrats on the perseverance to fly. Now that I finished, I have to add. Congrats on the elk. Don't leave support but understand your decision. Stay safe.
Beautiful story, cinematography, and truths! Memorable and filled with the true wealth of life, health, family, ambition, and drive. Best film of 2024!!!!
Fantastic job, absolutely second to none. Hunting and aviation are legacy pursuits, both of which I so greatly look forward to passing onto my kids, as I’m sure you do too. You have already conquered the mystery of flight. I’m sure you have already thought about it… but from one father/hunter/pilot to another, trust me, buy a Cub on bushwheels. You will never look back.
This was beyond expectation. Emotions were strong. A story for the ages, with a beautiful back bone in values and the meaning of life after children. As a father i needed this, Thank you.
Thank you Brett, his Family and Mathews for putting together an amazing film that was about the journey as much as the reward! Thats what life is! Congrats!
I got no words. Out of all the videos and all the film festivals I've seen this is the most thought out sincere and real story I watched in years! I mean this is one hell of a story! Well done sir congratulations one hell of an adventure and journey. The view of that elk on the front of your glider… surreal to watch!! 🔥🔥
Everything about this video was awesome... the cinematography, the story, the hunt, the message, the perseverance.... From one Montana-transplant, elk-hunting-fool to another.... well done.
I have watched countless hunting videos, 1000's of hours watching different groups of people telling there stories, teaching the viewers on how they do there hunts or how they go about different situations. But i have got to say out of every video i have watched from youtube to hunting tv, this video right here is hands down the best i have ever watched. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!
This was incredible! thanks for taking us along! Our Job as fathers is to teach you how to love something with passion and love God our families the most! So Good!
Best hunting film I’ve ever seen and will be a hard one to top.. unbelievable story, amazing footage and storytelling.. Huge congratulations, what an accomplishment
This is my first season hunting at age 41 (42 now since my bday was in Nov). I have a 6 year old daughter and a 1.5 year old son. I run a small business, my wife stays home and she supports me 100% with most wild ideas I have. Hunting has always been around me in some form. I didn’t grow up doing it but always appreciated those who did and what they got from it. When I told my wife I’d like to start she was all in knowing the amount of time I’d dedicate to being the best I could be. Every weekend she asks if I’ve made my route and planned where I’ll set up the stand. I haven’t seen but one freaking deer…but, I love being in nature and I love coming home to talk about it with my family. I hope it’s something I can pass down to my children. Do something hard, be patience, and repeat. Great video.
Amazing film and incredible story. Congratulations on chasing a dream, being a father, and seeing things through. Looking at those antlers will forever remind you of this Journey!
Absolutely incredible work by everyone involved, the Lord has blessed y’all with a storytelling gift. This is now one of my favorite films and I will definitely repeatedly watch this. Summed up the life I want to lead and touched my soul. The Chris Renzema song at the end was a cherry on top. Thank you for this masterpiece.
I’m a dad of 4 little boys. I will say this. You sir, are doing it right. It’s normal for us dads to doubt ourselves daily. That’s just a sign that you care, and want to do the right thing by your flesh and blood. It’s honorable, nothing more, nothing less. Congratulations on your children, and one heck of a story. Awesome stuff Mathews!
As a mid west whitetail hunter that doesn’t elk hunt, I was blown away by this. So awesome. Awesome dude, awesome dad, awesome story teller. Great video👍🏻
Great story and film. So cool to see/hear someone’s dream, watch the dedication and hard work to overcome obstacles and achieve. You found a creative way to get access to our public lands and made it happen.
Incredible story. Thank you for sharing. As a father of 2 I understand the struggle of leaving your little buddy behind to go hunting. The heart tears in 2 directions every time.
Absolutely awesome, as a newer father of a 1.5yr old son who just picked up archery 6 months before he was born this hit totally different than it would have a couple years ago. Incredible journey definitely going to be watched again and again
Fathering done right. I would spend good money just to shake Brett's hand in-person and tell him how much I respect him. Setting the example that, as a father, I can follow and hopefully emulate to my kids. Thank you, Mathews for a video that is truly one of a kind. I'm sure I'll watch this time and time again.
Brett.. you sir are a legend! Not just because of the bull, but the whole story, your passion and most of all because of your example to your kids! I have felt everything you said in this video from seeking purpose, to mental struggles, physical ones and more. As a coach you did exactly what you should have done which is push when it gets tough! Dig deep! Congrats man on a beautiful story your kids will remember!
I never thought I would cry after a hunting film, this film pushed everything into perspective that at the end of the day you have one life to live. I’ve never been more excited for what lays ahead in my life, no matter the challenge or situation I’m so excited for it all and then one day pass it on.
Absolutely epic. Congrats to you, your family and your dream. Your son has a bright future to look forward to with a father like you. I watched this with my dad and brother on a frozen lake in Northern Minnesota and we for sure bonded over it.
I am a father of 3 girls, I understand and fill the same emotions that you best showed and explained how it is to be a father who has a passion for hunting and to pass it on. I am about to start my first hunts this year with my oldest she is 11 years old and wants to be with me and wants to enjoy the same passion that I do. This is one of the best videos I have seen, and i have shared it with all of my friends & family. Keep up the great work, and i look forward to seeing more.
High five, you nailed it! Fantastic film and videography, scenery was awesome and the family values are spot on. Can't thank you enough, just watched on Christmas morning before anyone was awake and I was cheering for you, God Bless.
I have been watching these proving videos for awhile now but this one is my favorite. My 9 year old is getting into bow hunting and I can’t wait to watch this again with him.
Awesome story film and elk. The dream, belief and success is something you will be able to share with your son, daughter and grandkids one day!! Once again Mathews delivers with the hunting stories that really show what it means!
This is without a doubt, one of the best hunting videos I've ever watched! This dude, his family, and their willingness to never quit - this is why I shoot a Mathews. This inspires me to want to pick up my bow, drive back to Wyoming (from Pennsylvania) and finish the job I started last season. This is why I can't wait for whitetail season, over and over again! This guy and his undying love for elk hunting -- we all need to find a piece of this in our life. We weren't created to sit still. Thanks for sharing!!
Inspiring! What a wonderful challenge, I am just trying to take in what you just did. Wonderful family, sir you are blessed! Thanks for sharing a part of your life with us!
This film is like Randy Newberg meets Wilbur and Orville Wright meets Mathew’s archery. I’ve easily seen a couple hundred hunting videos but nothing quite like this. Very well done.
As a father of 3 kiddos, husband, child of God, and a very passionate bowhunter this is exactly how I'm trying to raise them. The struggle is real bc these values or way of upbringing doesn't exist everywhere around us today. I see how easy it is for a parent or society to lead our children down the wrong road vs doing what's right or putting in the work. I'm pretty sure NO one will ever be able to replicate a painting like this.. God bless
Like all the comments and as of mine, this is by far one of the best hunting story I have ever watched. Man that was so badass and inspiring truly. The real life story of all serious bowhunters go through. Having to balance life and their passion for Hunting. This is amazing
Wow! That was maybe the best hunting story I have ever watched. At the end of the day its not about shooting the biggest elk but rather seeing a quest you started through to fruition. I can't give enough kudos to everyone who made this. This is the kind of content we as hunters need to be promoting... Family, Commitment and doing things the right way.... "I'm asking for you blessing not your permission".
What an amazing story, by the end of it I was tearing up. My wife and I have been contemplating on whether or not we should have children lately. I think your film may have helped make that decision for me my friend...
Absolutely fantastic! Of all the available hunting content, videos of this class are few and far between! And as a father of 3 young kids myself, there’s a lot of wisdom in this, very impressed!
Unbelievable I watch a lot of videos but that was the coolest most capturing video I’ve ever watched congratulations on accomplishing your goal the world need more guys like you..
A rarely comment on videos and I shy away from watching videos this long because there’s usually too much unnecessary content. This was entertaining all the way through, but more than that it was a story that you could feel as you watched. Very well done!
Without question, this is one of the best hunting videos I’ve ever watched. Intelligent, pushing the envelope, it’s what I’ve come to expect from Mathews.
100% agree. The story and tension made this amazing to watch.
We appreciate the support, Mark. Thanks for tuning in.

“I want to play the game that they know. That has kept them alive”. Such a beautiful line. The core of fair chase, ethical hunting! Great film!
From a fellow father, hunter and PPG pilot. This was an amazing video!
Not sure what I can say that hasn't been said already, exceptional footage, editing, and story!
As an avid Adventure and paramotor pilot, I have faced numerous times where I question if my passion is over shadowing my responsibility as a parent. One of those videos that you wish you could watch again for the first time. Awesome stuff
Maybe the best hunting video I have ever seen. It speaks to the pull of being a father and provider and the need to hunt. Excellent job!!
Nicely done man! I love seeing stories of others who had a dream, and vison for learning to fly and then seeing them make that dream a reality. Amazing film and incredible story. Congratulations on chasing a dream, being a father, and seeing things through. Looking at those antlers will forever remind you of this Journey!
Excellent ! One of the best Paramotor stories I have ever heard ! You have inspired me to finish my dream.
This is such a great film about spirit, passion, family and risk management. Brilliantly documented and presented!!
This was a great story from beginning to the end. Love the last frame. On to his next adventure.
Best movie I have seen in awhile! Matthew’s always has the best movies!

I have 4 and a 2 year old that I watched this with and this story will resonate with a lot of Dads
Epic hunt and was wondering if we were going to see the for sale sign. Way to finish what you started and not DIE! Congrats!
Great story and film. So cool to see/hear someone’s dream, watch the dedication and hard work to overcome obstacles and achieve. You found a creative way to get access to our public lands and made it happen.

Incredible film. The storytelling was nothing short of inspirational.
As always Mathews puts out another outstanding video! Thank you!
Thanks for watching, we appreciate the support.

Stoked you enjoyed the film, JP.
I wish I could be the man you are brother, God bless fathers like you.
Great video and hunt👍👍 I like that you were able to get yourself to the landlocked public space.
Stoked you enjoyed the film! We’re glad you found inspiration in the story.
@ PS- I have the LIFT 33, I’m buying the LIFT X.
Master class in story telling, cinematography, and editing. Amazing work; amazing film. The bar has been raised!

This is the most badass hunt I’ve seen and you are taking this to a whole new level.
Just so well done across the board. Beautiful film and story, Brett is the man!
This film is like Randy Newberg meets Wilbur and Orville Wright meets Mathew’s archery.
I’ve easily seen a couple hundred hunting videos but nothing quite like this. Very well done.
Stoked you enjoyed the film, Joey.
You guys yet again set the bar high with quality footage and feeling like you get to live the experience. Well done Mathews & Brett.
Awesome video. Great job. Love the determination.
God bless
Well said, Shane. Thanks for tuning in.
Like all the comments and as of mine, this is by far one of the best hunting story I have ever watched. Man that was so badass and inspiring truly. The real life story of all serious bowhunters go through. Having to balance life and their passion for Hunting. This is amazing
Great film and a topic that we can all relate to. Pushing the boundaries within our mind given our circumstances. Captured and filmed greatly!
Amazing film and incredible story!
The movie production did a amazing job.
We're glad you found value in the story!
Thank you for this story and reinforcing the ideals I have as a father. Can't wait for my kids to see this same type of passion.
Incredible work.
I don’t even know what to say. Unbelievable, inspiring, next level, and on and on. You’ve raised the bar to another level.
incredible. hits right in the feels. Congratulations!!!
An absolutely stunning film and powerful story!!!

What an incredible film! Very inspiring, thank you for sharing this!!!
great video and awesome production - can't help but cringe of all the new air-bikes the skies out west will now surely see -
A rarely comment on videos and I shy away from watching videos this long because there’s usually too much unnecessary content. This was entertaining all the way through, but more than that it was a story that you could feel as you watched. Very well done!
We’re stoked you enjoyed the film, thanks for watching!
