Hi, I'm interest in becoming an egg donor and I was wondering if you were aware of any long term affects such as cancer or anything else that I should be aware of? thank you
I was going through similar situation and tried to find scientific research on the long term effects. I couldn’t find a single research. However I came across multiple reports of aggressive cancer and endometriosis. It’s a given that egg donors are health because they wouldn’t qualify if they had family history of cancer or any other case. However the reports I saw are healthy people dying from cancer I’m their 20’s. Since it’s a highly lucrative business which is also growing very fast with the increased infertility rate. If they do an actual longterm research they know they will be few to none donors. However they don’t want to scare off the donors and lose money. They don’t even follow up with donors and collect data.
Omg thank you so much for making this video. this is so informative but barely got 1k view. Looks like it’s not popular as sperm donor. Dr.Aimee, how long do you have to wait until you can donate your eggs again? Is it like every month, every year or how does it work? Thank you.
Hi, I'm 20 and I live in Michigan, I had a early miscarriage before, so I understand the feelings someone may have struggling with having children and would love to help someone create the family they deserve, what would be the first steps to this, and would this effect my chance of having my own children in the future. Do I need to go to a specific doctor, or will me normal ob work for the tests?
Is it possible to go through it without the shots? Because I produce a lot of eggs naturally, and I have a natural alternative to help produce extra eggs and help with the bloating and pain.
so if someone already has to be cautious with which kinds of hormonal birth control they're able to take safely (because of migraines with aura and increased stroke risk), would this person not be a great candidate for donating eggs because of the hormones?
Hello Dr. Aimee, thank you so much for the video! You’ve got such a wonderful spirit about you. I’ve been interested in egg donation for some time. I’m 28 and live in Arizona. I do not know my levels, should I go to my physician to find those out before I come to see you? May I make an appointment for sometime this year? Thank you for all you do, God bless you! ❤️
Wow that would be nice! But then there probably wouldn't be as many clinics cause it would make the price for recipients to go up and so only rich people could afford it
@@EggWhisperer I more meant that people should consider why they're donating before they do it to make sure its right for them, but that's a cool idea too!
This might be a silly question but is the retrieval of only one egg? Or how many do they grab for this whole process? I’m interested in donating but I’m 30
It can be between 20 and 80 eggs it depends on how much of the stimulating hormone you receive. Sometimes clinics are greedy and administer too much of the hormone which puts women at risk for OHSS
Hi Doctor Aimee. I watch you all the time and i just think you are awesome. Too bad im in Australia, would have love to be your patient. I have an odd question. I recently had 6x day 5 embryo frozen and 1x freshly transferred. Do you know if genetic testing can be done on the 5x thats been frozen?
Rene Ino not odd at all! The answer is: it depends. If the quality of the embryos is good then yes! If any of them are poor quality then it’s best not to do a biopsy. I always talk to patients about whether they really want to put an embryo through two thaws. So what I talk to my patients about is doing a thaw the day before their transfer day. Get results back the next morning, transfer the embryo you want and freeze the rest! Lower risk but a lot of work. Not all labs are equipped to do that.
@@EggWhisperer thank you so much. I guess that is something I have to seriously think about. Im not sure the grade of my embies but they are all blastocyst. Thanks again 💚💛🧡
I had my cycle on the 2nd of July and it ended on the 7th then two days later(which would be today) after it ended it started bleeding again what does this mean
I was wondering I do want to become a egg donor when I'm older but I do have some mental issues like depression, anxiety, adhd , disabled etc But im not on meds and in consoling can I still donate eggs in the future ?? If I don't struggle on mental issues that much or anymore ??
Hello doctor I’m 20 years old from VA and I wanna do egg donations. Can you please explain to me How many steps did egg donation have, and Can I stop or change my mind in the process, if it’s so painful Thank you!!!
Doctor Aimee, I am 32. My AMH is 2.33, Fsh is 8.2, LH is 4.4, estradiol is 38, and prolactin is 26.6. But my Vitamin D is low at 31 ng/ml. Will Vitamin D supplements improve my lab results? Thank you.
M c your results are great. No need for improvement. I would just repeat your prolactin but fasting. 31 is definitely normal. You can take vitamin d to get it higher. Won’t hurt! But there isn’t anything about your levels that has me concerned one bit
Doc, you seem like a great fertility doctor, but I don't like how you frame being an egg donor as something altruistic and good. If it came from my egg cell, it's MY child. No one other than me can be responsible for the wellbeing that child. Why would any sane woman ever give to strangers what's hers, without there being an opportunity to know if the child's alright? Being taken care of properly? Not being abused? If anything, I find it very selfish and un-altruistic for women to expect other women to be willing to donate their eggs. If they're so convinced assisting other women in the process of conceiving is altruistic, why do we barely see them do good deeds of their own, like being a surrogate? And then, there's the child that will result from that donation. Does anyone ever stop to consider how that child might feel about people having chosen that it should be raised by another mother? I would feel gravely offended if anyone ever asked for my eggs. It's ridiculous and I will never, ever give some greedy person my eggs. If nature decided you're not a suitable candidate for childbearing, then maybe that's for a reason.
This is dangerous and barbaric. I'm sorry, but you aren't telling young women the truth, that they can DIE from this procedure OR be left infertile because too many of your healthy eggs are collected leaving a majority of unhealthy eggs. This has happened to women after egg donation. Please research, she isn't telling you the downsides and risks. I'm all for helping couples but this isn't the way. Adoption, why not adopt? So many unwanted children who need loving homes. Also, do not be sold that older mothers are better. They are tired is what they are, but not better.
Your open perspective is heart warming and I appreciate it

Hi Dr. Aimee, Im wondering if it costs much less if a friend or family is donating their eggs to me?

What if you go tru the process of egg donation and at the point of donation they find out that you are pregnant what will happen
Does the injections for maturing the eggs work on one egg or all eggs?

Ahhh of course! And join my next egg freezing class too. I think you will learn a lot: eggwhispererschool.com
With all those side effects I hope these women donating are paid at least 100,000usd
Wow that would be nice! But then there probably wouldn't be as many clinics cause it would make the price for recipients to go up and so only rich people could afford it
What if you have a nexplanon (implant in the arm) and don't have a period and haven't had a period for many years?
This is remarkable! Thank you!!!!
I'm 27 and I'm interested in becoming an egg donor
What is the procedure
Hey prospective donors, pls remember you're making real human beings with unique emotions and thoughts, not just cash.
Yes!!!! Stand up for yourself and ask for an egg freeze with your donation if that’s important to you

What age do you do egg donations at

Can I join freeze and share program? I am also eggs donor.
thanks for the info
Why do you have to have a high school diploma to donate eggs
Perhaps single fatherhood/maternity is preferable to the cage called "holy matrimony".:)
What if you had one miscarriage in the past
