David Webster Maybe EPE could purchase it, restore it, then place it in the building with all the other Elvis vehicles it has. Just an idea.

    • @thewildgoose1979

@@robertzastrow4648 Why would they let EPE have it when you can go see it where its at now. Restoring would decrease the value because it wouldnt have the original parts. (Just buy a newly restored one and say this is what the original looked like that day), You want the original to stay original, even if it isnt complete. Plus I dont think EPE wants anything to do with anything from the day he died.

@@thewildgoose1979 This is just my opinion, just like why you think EPE wouldn't want the ambulance. I can understand why EPE wouldn't want anything connected to Elvis's death, but the fact is that Elvis is physically dead. To me, it makes more sense to have the vehicle restored and on Graceland's property, rather then in a Karate Museum ( I know that Elvis loved karate, but how does having the ambulance reflect on that love?). I think it should be restored to look like it did at the time it transported Elvis (maybe more than once?). There are other historic vehicles that have been restored and don't have all of their original parts. The JFK assassination limo in the Henry Ford Museum in Michigan comes to mind.

Popped up on my UA-cam ‘recommendations’ list. I find these kinds of objects, not morbid, but historical. It’s a shame for what it represents, but you cannot undo history, just honor and respect it, for what it is.

I was excited to see what had happened to the ambulance. Beginning in the early 1980s I went with my dad to Memphis every year . Every time we went to Memphis we would do things that normal tourist do not do and one of the goals of my dad was to find the ambulance. On several occassions we actually met Ulysses Jones one of the paramedics in the ambulance. We were actually able to track down the ambulance on several occassions as it was moved around to different locations. My dad contacted the fire chief who told him that the ambulance would be sold at auction at some poiint. The chief told my dad he would let him know when it would be auctioned off which he never did. Needless to say my dad was upset because he wanted to have the opportunity to buy it. My dad died in 2016 and this has inspired me to try and find some of the pictures that we took of the ambulance when it was in much better condition. Thanks for letting us know what happened.

I thank you so much for you efforts with your friends as welll. I can kinda know the feeling. I bought my best friends car a few short years after he had past from his mom when she was ready. She had no place to put it but park it on her lawn which isn’t a great idea, but she could only do with so little of what she had. So I own it. Forever?
