Thank you Gary. Your Solace must be a dream to paddle and I'm sure you can't wait to get back on the water again. I have a build video of this yak if you want to view it. ua-cam.com/video/udWVZOwi9ck/v-deo.html
Hi Andre - beautiful job on the Duet 16 build. I am considering buying the same kayak from Waters Dancing for my wife to use with our dog. Just curious how you find it handles when paddling solo... is it tough to handle for a single person? Combined weight of wife & dog is only 200 lbs... too light for this model?
Thanks for the compliment. I mostly paddle alone to take wildlife photos. That is why I installed the aftermarket removable seats so my camera bag lays in front of me where the front seat is. It paddles solo very well and is very stable. I suggest the rudder option for extra stability during cross winds and ease of pointing (solo or with two). Also, because of its wider beam, get a slightly longer paddle (s). I’m sure you will enjoy building it and your wife and dog using it. Keep my posted please. Andre.
@@AjBProductions Hi Andre - I am 2 weeks into the build of my own Duet 16 now... the video of your build has been very helpful and inspiring - thank you so much for creating it! I really like the dark accent you added to side of the deck (pieces 6A/B/C) and the cockpit trim... curious what stain/paint did you use for that?
BRAVO!
Thank you!
Fits you perfectly, beautiful job.
Thank you. Yes it does :)
Awesome job from a fellow WD builder (Solace 18XL). Enjoy your beautiful yak!

@@andyebbern4800 Thanks. I used Saman water-based wood stain (dark walnut). Epoxy will not adhere to oil-based stains.
@@AjBProductions Thanks Andre - much appreciated!
Please built more with POWER pedal asist🙏
Problem with pedal assist in my area, would be weeds. I like to stay in the shallows for wildlife viewing.
I found the same thing with my watersnake . Most of the time its too shallow to use it .
Do you know the weight of your loverly wooden yak. ??
@@turtlepurple9304 The weight is 65 lbs.
@@AjBProductions that is 6 kg ..lighter than my mad river 14 footer. Although it is a bullet proof plastic canoe . Very nice build Andre . Thanks
i like to build my own helf me
Thanks for watching. I suggest you check this site which sell the plans and material. watersdancing.com
