When I was younger this bit used to be beyond epic. It was both scary and captivating. The look when he emerges in that Golden Demonic God King Helmet still hits hard.

I was born in 89 I grew up watching this movie in the 90's wearing tights whiteys, wearing my moms boots, and a blanket around my neck as a cape.... my older brother, and I obsessed over this film.... IDGAF what people say.... this movie is magical, and heart warming.... the ending is phenomenal.... and skeletor is arguably one of the best on film villains of all time in my book.
I watched an hour and a half just to hear those words. I HAVE THE POWER!

Meg Foster and Frank Langella are the MVP's of this movie. They REALLY went for it to great effect.

I agree Jaden. All the main characters were done perfectly - including He-Man himself. Thank God this movie was made in the 80s. Had it been done today, it would have been completely butchered.
Gotta love Skeletor. Even when he loses the power of the Universe, he's still determined to take He-Man down. He never gives up.
That's why I like the character, both wont give up and its skeletor that takes the fall.

Skeletor achieves Godhood and what's the first thing he does? He still needs to see He-man humbled before he can truly feel like he's number 1, even though he's ascended above their rivalry in his heart he knows he's still 2nd best Master on the Universe, so he brings his Godhood down to that level. There's a message in that ;)

I cannot tell you how many times I watched this as a kid on TBS in the early 90’s. They had this thing on at least 3 Sunday’s a month; it seemed.
I think the last time I saw it on there was 1997….it played on there every other weekend for years…..

"Tell me about the loneliness of good He-man, is it equal to the loneliness of evil?" that line is testament to the great effort every actor put into this movie, but with half a budget and a butchered script ..hey it still turned out better than many.

I was seven at the theater seeing this exspecting "you bonehead he-man" and I got this....I remember sitting there with my mouth open like damn this is a kids movie.... Frank brought his A game this is still his favorite performance and that is awesome!

Growing Up in the 80s watching this and hearing He-Man say "I have the Power" was every kids dream in a live action Movie!!! DOLPH was a perfect He-Man!!!!! Nobody can do it in this day like he did not even Chris Hemsworth even tho he's the only one who would now a days but it would just be Thor in Eternia!

The part where Lubic starts fighting back with his shotgun is just awesome.
As a kid, I thought he was obnoxious. Today, he's my favorite good guy character. and he did save the whole day.

But to look for plot holes that aren't plot holes any isn't fair.
He hasn't any crown, he isn't a king at all.
This isn't Snake Mountain this is Castle Grayskull.
The movie is clearly based on the original concept of Masters Of The Universe, before DC and Filmation He-Man was depicted as being a hero full time. Therefore King Randor is just a side character not important as in the animated series.
And even if I like the Filmation series the fact that they erased the cringy side of He-Man (Adam, Orko and Cringer) made this movie even better for me!
skeletors speech is really quite remarkable.

Even with all those fancy laser guns and shiny armour, nothing kicks ass quite like a good gun.
It's amazing how much the ending mirrors star wars. Sword battle in a throne room followed by the bad guy in a cloak getting thrown down a massive pit.
Except in this case, the cloaked villain *Partakes In* the sword battle before being sent plunging to his doom

Adam Santer But even though people shit on this movie it showed how badass and frightening Skeletor is and always should be.Not like the goofy 80's cartoon version he was.Skeletor took over Grayskull in this movie,had He Man on the run even though it all should've been in Eternia.And it hinted at he just defeated Hordak bcuz of those soldiers in all black who look like part of the Evil Horde.Everyone except Evil Lyn was trembling just being in his presence bcuz you didnt know what the hell he would or wouldn't do to you.It was rumored Skeletor might not be in the remake first movie but instead pulling the strings like the Emperor in Star Wars.This Skeletor is definitely a character like that so i don't know why people only see Hordak being that type of person
She probably makes the decision at 0:50 ... an all-powerful Skelletor is no longer dependent on her help. I think she's smart enough to realize how dangerous this is for her.

I remember recording this on fox 26 in 88 I believe for my older brother, the He-Man fan. The point is that this movie reigns supreme, for me. I don't know much about MOTU, except for some of the cartoon episodes I watched as a kid. Plus this movie introduced me to Meg Foster😍, Dolph Lundgren and Frank Langella.

0:10 - 1:31 For me, Skeletors voice/vocal delivery was awesome. That whole segment from beginning to end of his epic rant (along with the loud cry upon transformation) was probably the most memorable scenes of any villain in movie history.

Ya know, I understand it's cheesy, because of the genre/time period etc.. But how's it worse than any other movie of it's kind? Considering the circumstances, I still think this movie turned out incredibly well! Langella's performance was stellar, the supporting actors were solid, and the score was incredible. Goddard's direction of the film, was in my opinion, impressive. Obviously the budget was relatively minimal, which is probably why most of it was shot on "Earth". Overall, a fun movie

There are plenty of plot holes here. Even in the conclusion Lubic decides to stay in Eternia he was promoted to king? for what exactly? Where did that woman come from who is now his wife? I guess budget didn't allow them to fill in those blanks. That being said I love He Man and now mt daughter is enjoying this. But I get bothered a bit by the obvious stuff Mattel had a goldmine of a universe but kept just flipping stuff to go with the latest fad. She Ra was all about Robots in order to adapt to Star Wars and Transformers here the enemies are basically black storm troopers.
any villain that has the nerve to call Earth "a tasteless planet" has got my respect even if I want to give him the bird.

Rocky IV was what put him out there,but this,in my opinion set him apart compared to other films he played in.....motu was underrated and I think if the budget for this movie was bigger,it would've been a box office smash

Just watched the entire movie last night, it's a classic, I love it! But _ You cut the most important, the speech by the general awn the end and it is not picked up in number 12! I was looking every where for that farewell. Short but a powerful saying he made.
Had a crush on Courtney Cox when I was a kid because of this movie. It's one of the reasons why Monica was a favourite character of mine on friends.
