  • Everyone has friends or family who suffer from sickness, disability, depression, or the death of a loved one. Oftentimes, the people who love the hurting also struggle in their own unique ways. They tend to suffer in silence and without much support from others.
Dave and Gloria Furman understand, from personal daily experience, the challenging dynamics that attend serving others who are hurting. In this video, Dave Furman, author of 'Being There: How to Love Those Who Are Hurting', shares his story of debilitating need, resilient care, and finding the help that only God can supply.

Amen. This is truly inspiring. For better or worse and during those trying times in the wilderness, God is so faithful to renew the strength of those that choose to walk their vows to the end. Yet not I but through Christ in me.

Thank you for those honest words! My husband is slowly losing his hearing. It is to the point now that we really have to change the way we communicate, which is not easy to do after 30 years of marriage and established habits! It is frustrating, and at the same time it is an honor to serve my husband by changing. We have ups and downs, hearing improving through hearing aids, then taking a nose dive from nerve atrophy. Through it all God has been faithful, and that is where our hope lies! We know He will be faithful going forward, and that He will use this for His glory. We just need to hold on to that, embrace the changes He is walking us through.

Wow very beautiful story! Can I make one suggestion though? The music in the background is a bit much, it takes away from this wonderful story!
