The Reptile King The training element of this exercise most likely lies in the coordination and synchronised execution part. Different countries do things differently, and it can be a challenge to convey information between nations on different weapon platforms and systems. I'm confident the parties involved learned a lot.

The logs of the Soviet doctrine was an easy and economical way to pull out your tank if it fell into a ditch without needing major help from specialized units, NATO always had organized engineering cores at hand so they dealt it in the more expensive way.

@Roblox Troll Not nessesarily, specialised vehicles take time to arrive and often need even more assets to protect, it sounds good on paper and in military exercises, but you can imagine the logistical nightmares to use them in real combat.

@@TomTheGamer913 Its the worst addition to the game (online). Its basically a flying/hovering bike that has a jet engine on it and can spam homing rockets. It's also quite annoying to counter. You can't find an online session without having a k/d warrior toxic griefer blowing everyone up. It's also glitched atm, you can't lock onto the player riding it with your gun. It requires no skill to operate, very toxic and extremely hated amoung gta community (by the decent players). To put it into simple terms, its a griefers wet dream. Sorry for the rant/essay dude lmao

Exercise Iron Spear 2019 from what I’ve searched seems to be just a combined exercise with the NATO troops stationed in Latvia, so the answer is most likely just a regular exercise for the different nationalities and soldiers to practice more upon communication and working together, with a focus on the armored branch of the forces deployed there.
@@lordreehaw1267 Having a whole bunch of different armies from various countries fire the main cannon on their tank after some dude on the radio shouts "fire" hardly seems like something that needs to be practiced.. I think the real operations were being done with the cameras turned off.

@@rixille Yeah, a big problem is to see how the hardware software systems line up. For instance we all use the same radar software but we use different software. This leads to different aim times, different reloads, different problems. An example it the leclerc tanks use auto loaders, this means they have different reload abilities than a M1A2 which uses an actual man to load the weapon. People in the military actually don't know much about things outside their own military and the best way to train them is expose them. A guy who didn't graduate grade 10 isn't exactly a well read person most of the time, but you show him in person how it all works and he will understand it.
Experience, even training experience, is the best way to learn.

@VoltigeurFR Not surprising, since the competition involved mostly involved firing trials which is excatly what the Leclerc has been designed around..being able to fire further and faster than other tanks of it's time both stationary and on the move...It's a real cavalry tank.

@@stabilis8895 It's the challenger 1 during the gulf war, that killed a T72 from 5 kilomters away. Impressive feat indeed but that does not mean much, an Abrams or a Leopard 2 would have done it just as well. Does not change anything to the fact that the Leclerc is the best suited western MBT for running and gunning warfare. Having an autoloader when the tank is moving in battle situation is a big plus regardless of what armchair generals are saying. During the battle there can be sudden direction changes which can shake the crew up really hard making reloading the main gun for a human loader very difficult if not impossible due to tank movement or even worse, the tank movement will throw the loader around the tank due to him being the only crew member that has to be moving inside the tank to actaully pick the shells up whereas all other crew members are tied tight to their seats so he's at risk of being thrown around the tank if there is a bump etc... That being said, next generation of MBT will have autoloader due to rounds being at least 130 mm if not more ( 140 or 152 mm) and thats just to heavy for a human to handle continuously.

I have met countless NATO solders while traveling. I must say they are very well mannered, kind and extremely brave. Yes NATO’s ideals are similar but I believe these men and women fit all the NATO requirements prior to them getting the job.

This is actually really cool. Each tank is a marvel of engineering. Each country put the most into those tanks, based on experience, influence and expected needs. And each tank is different. It's beautiful!
