  • Douglas Talks about Easter eggs and how they remind him of the amazing Gift of Jesus' resurrection!
Douglas' family likes to decorate Easter eggs, but Douglas' favorite part about Easter eggs is the good stuff that's inside them. Whether they stuff candy in a plastic egg or dye the outside of a hardboiled egg, Douglas can't wait to eat the little gift inside. But Douglas' brother never wants to break the egg because it looks so pretty, and that drives Douglas crazy! An empty Easter eggs reminds Douglas of the empty tomb that they put Jesus in. When Jesus died, they wrapped him in burial clothes and laid him in the the tomb, then three days later he rose again from the dead. If Jesus had stayed in the tomb, then we would have nothing to celebrate on Easter. Jesus said that He was God's son, and he said that he would be killed, and he said that he would raise from the dead three days later. If Jesus didn't raise from the dead, then he would have been lying the whole time. But since he raised himself from the dead he proved that he really was God's son, and he proved that we too can live forever even though we die. So next time you find something nice to eat in an Easter egg, remember the AMAZING GIFT of Jesus' resurrection.
