Yes, Brendan had a horrible childhood. Yes, many people love Ste and Brendan together. But, can we please all agree that Brendan grew up to be a pretty messed up guy?

I miss Brendan Brady. My favourite soap hardman and character. I wish they had Brendan escape the hospital somehow during his exit storyline and go on the run just like Silas did.

I agree. The chorus is "I feel like a monster" which I think fits BB's state of mind (at least a lot of the time he was on the show). Because of his traumas he hated himself for a long time and took out that internalized hate on Ste with violence. That does not excuse it but it does help explain it. He could behave monstrously but he is not monster

@@Jibberish55 yeah I agree. And no it didn't excuse the violence with ste but if you remember at the beginning of ste coming into it he was also violent but again ste ended up being a good guy. A monster would be someone who did that s**t with no remorse both these guys had remorse in things they had done. Brendan was probably my favourite character throughout hollyoaks he is a brilliant actor and brought everything to his character.

The fact that one of the most toxic and abusive relationships in the shows history (not the worst but it's definitely up there), was one of the most enticing and heavily shipped is so confusing to me. Because I was among the shippers when me and mum used to watch it. And that is fucked up.

You are very right. I think for me I found it interesting to watch when they acknowledged how terrible it was. I had a problem when they tried to redeem Brendan after everything he had done without making him actually work for it. Which is why this was the last vid I made of them

Honestly, I keep trying to find the clip where one of the girls (amy or cheryl or mitzee (can't remember which one)) finds out that Brendan is abusing Ste because it's such a turning point in how we viewed their relationship....
