Rancho is absolutely beautiful. Absolutely LOVE this breed. Not a first time dog owner dog. You must understand them and be their leader. We have had the honor of 8 belgians in our lifetime. Rancho The Dog 🐾❤️ The other problem I have alot is not being able to get video to play, then will not be able to get it as it seems to disappear. It will usually reappear...have to keep searching periodically...anywhere from few hours to few days. Others in reviews having that occur as well. Maybe just too many of us on @ same time. Rancho is a lot like Fáelán...he love his mornings to be laid back...but he does like his breakfast.....The 'biting' part....Kiyew loves doing that too...🐶🐾🐺😂we would love to see the rest of your day
After watching your videos of Rancho, and falling in love with him, and after doing a lot of research, we bought a Belgian Terv 1:26 also. We bought him from a breeder that developed working dogs rather than show dogs. We love our dog (shiner). It’s interesting, Because when I see Rancho on TV, a lot of the things that he does reminds me of shiner, and vice versa. When you lost Rancho, I hurt more than I usually hurt when anyone or anything has ever died that was in my life. It really affected me. I look at Shiner and Hope nothing like that happens to us. I do have the strong feeling that another Belgian in your life would help you with the pain. It’s not that you would be replacing Rancho because your heart is much bigger than that. You can always love Rancho and then love the new dog also. Our hearts are not constrained to a certain size. My best to you and your husband. I really do think about the two of you often. My deepest condolences for losing Rancho, it’s just so terrible.
Sweet - looks just like my Mishka! Also sleepy in the morning, also prefers to eat later in the day 😂. Only my puppy likes to stay a lot outsiede in the garden, especially in the winter! He would rather be cold than warm and cozy... Who knew?
Rancho you have a very early start with dad. You do a good job keeping mum company while she works. What a beautiful place for your daily walk or run in your case ! 🐶💙👩
That is a lovely morning routine for Rancho. The little natural water bowl is cool, and also being able to get him out for a good run in such a nice field so close to home. He reminds me of Mocha in the Am 😂 she remains a bit sleepy for a while. Plus a Velcro Dog! 😂 and not eating in the Am! Mocha takes all day to eat her food. They have so much in common.

Moc děkujeme 🥰 Skoro každé ráno máme takové. Jen jednou týdně mu dopoledne na 2 a půl hoďky odejdu. Takže si myslím nemůže stěžovat :) 12-14 hodin denně v práci musí být peklo. To jsi tak vážně měla? To by pak pejsek byl jen doma sám a to je lepší mít plyšového 😊 Tomu by to tolik nevadilo. On je Rančík v tomto hodně 'rozmazlený', protože nejdýl byl sál doma asi 4,5 hoďky. Průměrně tak 2-3. Což je výhoda, ale zárověň i dost velký problém, když se něco naskytne a musíme být oba z domu třeba 8 hodin. To pak musíme hledat hlídání. Naštěstí se to skoro nestává. Přejeme hezký vstup do nového týdne 💖

My guy isn't very keen on getting up early either... and we have a similar routine to yours. All-important is coffee for me before going out with him (and we don't even have a nice dad to take him out at 5.30 a.m.)!!!

My Belgian is 11 years old and he woke me up for a walk at 6 am this morning. Already been out for a long walk in the snow and fields. I also let my dog off the leash to run around. Your dog is not getting enough run around. Your dog is bored but loyal and adheres to YOUR routine. I'm 66. Still working and making sure my Tervuren gets the physical activity he needs to do by going for daily long walks with him. Humans need to go for long walks and hikes too. Looks like you just stand by while your dog has to run around by himself. He's bored and lonely.
Clearly you didn't watch the video. It was an hour-long walk/hike where he could run as much as he wanted, which he did. About 5km. I hate walking slowly, let alone standing around doing nothing. This was our morning routine, then in the afternoon he gets another walk of similar lenght. We do canicross, bikejoring, we run, go on long weekend hikes and all those things, so I don't really think he's that bored. Sometimes I actually feel like we're overworking him. The fact that he likes to sleep in doesn't make him lazy. Every dog is different and it's great that your 11 yo Belgie is still that active.
I still remember the day when I was no taller than 1 metre in height, probably early school age, and I was playing with our Groenendael. Suddenly I started grabbing and squeezing his tail and he opened his mouth and cut a huge piece from my shirt. He had not caused any damage though. It was as if he was trying to say "I don't want to hurt you because you are my owner but don't hurt me again". Every time I took him for a walk out of the house, nobody would be able to come near me. These dogs can be so intelligent and loyal but also quite ferocious if they need to. ❤
I need an Iphone like you have to capture my dog's walks... and you need a TUG toy to keep Rancho from hurting your hands!!! Our Belgians ADORE tugging. I know you work with balls for playing but just grab a rope toy when you go out to walk. Otherwise your routine is so much like ours - especially the "let me snooze Mom a bit more"!!!

This was filmed with a camera, but I don't always carry it around and a phone with a good camera would help. Rancho loves tugging too. The problem with him is that if we take a toy outside, he never runs like this. He's only interested in the toy. And without a toy, he gets so much more exercise done because he runs like crazy in his huge circles. So I guess my hands are going to have to suffer on 😁

Where does Rancho live? Reminds me of Finland and our Belgian Shepherd, his name Rondo (almost Rancho!) and although he is a malinois he looks like a tervuren, the only one in his litter to look such, his sister for example looks like a malinois!
Do you live in an apartment home? I see there are open fields but just wondering what´s your routine in regards to Rancho´s fisiological needs? I´m planning to get one for myself and this is one of the concerns I have :)
Hehe, I can see how our morning routine may come across as a very laid back one. But I can assure you no-one who's seen Rancho outside ever said he is a laid-back dog :) In fact, quite the opposite. Rancho is very calm at home. And especially in the morning, he loves to sleep. But he knows he gets his two long walks a day. On these walks he usually runs around me in big circles at full speed, he bites and jumps on me (or other dogs) and then keeps on running. Plus, we often do canicross, bikejoring, obedience and other things and he's always really hyper. So I think he's actually pretty happy that he can sleep it all off at home. When I'm sick and can't give him all this, he's ok with a short walk in the morning, but in the afternoon you can see that he needs to let his energy out.
@@ranchothedog I'm trying to figure out if I should get another border collie or a Belgian shepherd for my next dog. I think they probably do have similar levels of energy but with the Belgians since they are bigger I think i would have to be so much more careful about training.
I think Rancho gets enough physical and mental stimulation, so is a very balanced dog. Maybe that is why he seems more laid back than a BC. I own a working terv, and have owned a BC. Both great dogs, especially when they are tired. 😄
I think the only difference between a BSD and a Border Colllie (apart from the obvious) is that Belgians are a bit more rough. They love to play rough, they bite a lot, they're naturally very protective of their owners, and sometimes their intensity scares other people. Rancho always gets super excited at the end of our walks (yeah, I know, it's weird), he growls, barks, jumps etc. and I can see the fear in people's eyes. They probably think it's agression, but it's just how Belgians are. The Border Collies I know are all very obedient and don't do these kinds of things. And yeah, as you said, they're bigger so if you neglect something in training, it may become a bigger problem.
@@ranchothedog my BSD is very rough, too. She does intimidate people when she plays. It’s very intense. When she comes in from an outside run, she’s jumping and play growling and has much to say. But then she calms down quickly and has a nap. My Border Collie was not like this. Such interesting differences, even in the presence of many similarities.
I have a Malinois. NOTHING like this. VERY ALERT active, demanding 6 yr old. She rules. She does everything WITH me all day, everyday. Best, smartest, most beautiful dog EVER. How old is Rancho? Does he get to chase and play w other dogs? Belgians are SWEET, right?!
Rancho is not in the morning he is a homebody, but at 10 am he is well awake and in good shape (be careful that he jumps in your bed ♥♥) whatever you want Rancho has his Habits
The older he gets, the more he likes his routines and habits 😉 It seems like most of the day, he spends colleting energy for his crazy runs outside... lol. Thanks so much for watching :)

My guy isn't very keen on getting up early either... and we have a similar routine to yours. All-important is coffee for me before going out with him (and we don't even have a nice dad to take him out at 5.30 a.m.)!!!

My Belgian is 11 years old and he woke me up for a walk at 6 am this morning. Already been out for a long walk in the snow and fields. I also let my dog off the leash to run around. Your dog is not getting enough run around. Your dog is bored but loyal and adheres to YOUR routine. I'm 66. Still working and making sure my Tervuren gets the physical activity he needs to do by going for daily long walks with him. Humans need to go for long walks and hikes too. Looks like you just stand by while your dog has to run around by himself. He's bored and lonely.
Clearly you didn't watch the video. It was an hour-long walk/hike where he could run as much as he wanted, which he did. About 5km. I hate walking slowly, let alone standing around doing nothing. This was our morning routine, then in the afternoon he gets another walk of similar lenght. We do canicross, bikejoring, we run, go on long weekend hikes and all those things, so I don't really think he's that bored. Sometimes I actually feel like we're overworking him. The fact that he likes to sleep in doesn't make him lazy. Every dog is different and it's great that your 11 yo Belgie is still that active.
I still remember the day when I was no taller than 1 metre in height, probably early school age, and I was playing with our Groenendael. Suddenly I started grabbing and squeezing his tail and he opened his mouth and cut a huge piece from my shirt. He had not caused any damage though. It was as if he was trying to say "I don't want to hurt you because you are my owner but don't hurt me again". Every time I took him for a walk out of the house, nobody would be able to come near me. These dogs can be so intelligent and loyal but also quite ferocious if they need to. ❤

I need an Iphone like you have to capture my dog's walks... and you need a TUG toy to keep Rancho from hurting your hands!!! Our Belgians ADORE tugging. I know you work with balls for playing but just grab a rope toy when you go out to walk. Otherwise your routine is so much like ours - especially the "let me snooze Mom a bit more"!!!

This was filmed with a camera, but I don't always carry it around and a phone with a good camera would help. Rancho loves tugging too. The problem with him is that if we take a toy outside, he never runs like this. He's only interested in the toy. And without a toy, he gets so much more exercise done because he runs like crazy in his huge circles. So I guess my hands are going to have to suffer on 😁

Where does Rancho live? Reminds me of Finland and our Belgian Shepherd, his name Rondo (almost Rancho!) and although he is a malinois he looks like a tervuren, the only one in his litter to look such, his sister for example looks like a malinois!
We are in the Czech Republic actually. Sometimes two Mals produce a Tervuren puppy :) They're always super cute. Greetings to Rondo ❤️

People say these dogs have too much energy for a normal dog owner- but I have border collies and he seems way more laid back. Is he an older dog?
Hehe, I can see how our morning routine may come across as a very laid back one. But I can assure you no-one who's seen Rancho outside ever said he is a laid-back dog :) In fact, quite the opposite. Rancho is very calm at home. And especially in the morning, he loves to sleep. But he knows he gets his two long walks a day. On these walks he usually runs around me in big circles at full speed, he bites and jumps on me (or other dogs) and then keeps on running. Plus, we often do canicross, bikejoring, obedience and other things and he's always really hyper. So I think he's actually pretty happy that he can sleep it all off at home. When I'm sick and can't give him all this, he's ok with a short walk in the morning, but in the afternoon you can see that he needs to let his energy out.
@@ranchothedog I'm trying to figure out if I should get another border collie or a Belgian shepherd for my next dog. I think they probably do have similar levels of energy but with the Belgians since they are bigger I think i would have to be so much more careful about training.
I think Rancho gets enough physical and mental stimulation, so is a very balanced dog. Maybe that is why he seems more laid back than a BC. I own a working terv, and have owned a BC. Both great dogs, especially when they are tired. 😄
I think the only difference between a BSD and a Border Colllie (apart from the obvious) is that Belgians are a bit more rough. They love to play rough, they bite a lot, they're naturally very protective of their owners, and sometimes their intensity scares other people. Rancho always gets super excited at the end of our walks (yeah, I know, it's weird), he growls, barks, jumps etc. and I can see the fear in people's eyes. They probably think it's agression, but it's just how Belgians are. The Border Collies I know are all very obedient and don't do these kinds of things. And yeah, as you said, they're bigger so if you neglect something in training, it may become a bigger problem.
@@ranchothedog my BSD is very rough, too. She does intimidate people when she plays. It’s very intense. When she comes in from an outside run, she’s jumping and play growling and has much to say. But then she calms down quickly and has a nap. My Border Collie was not like this. Such interesting differences, even in the presence of many similarities.
I have a Malinois. NOTHING like this. VERY ALERT active, demanding 6 yr old. She rules. She does everything WITH me all day, everyday. Best, smartest, most beautiful dog EVER. How old is Rancho? Does he get to chase and play w other dogs? Belgians are SWEET, right?!
Rancho is not in the morning he is a homebody, but at 10 am he is well awake and in good shape (be careful that he jumps in your bed ♥♥) whatever you want Rancho has his Habits
The older he gets, the more he likes his routines and habits 😉 It seems like most of the day, he spends colleting energy for his crazy runs outside... lol. Thanks so much for watching :)
