The change to rising normals was not focused on fuzzies. That was an unintended side effect. It was specifically to target air to air interactions that lead to full combo. It was quite common to jump up after a person with a normal and land in time to finish of a full combo. Now it scales heavily in that situation so you are more encouraged to stay on the ground and try to anti air like normal. Another unintended side effect was against Zoe who could use jump dust loops like sol bad guy in some corner combos. That is now completely gutted since those are counted as rising normals and kill the damage.
Just wanted to say thank you for the comparison videos! They're very appreciated, especially for the characters I don't play/hard to visualize the changes for purely off the notes.
I like the approach of nerfing the damage over something’s usability. I feel like most cases, lowering the damage potential from strong tools works really well. On the contrary, siegs fireball nerf felt warranted but they buffed him in several other ways to compensate
I do like that they're trying to make some of the installs useful through overall nerfs to stronger characters with them (Nier, Sieg, Seox) but they did kind of miss with Seox since you can still just guard cancel him to get rid of it.
Damn I don’t like all these damage nerfs. What made GBFVR so fun to watch was how fast the matches were and how offensively focused it was. I feel like this will lead to a more defensive mindset going forward
Damage nerf doesn’t make a game more defensive tho, it just makes it less volatile. The pacing will be the same regardless of high damage or low damage
Personally I love the damage nerfs. I dont want to play Strive, I want to play Granblue Vs. This is supposed to be a more neutral heavy game and something felt very wrong when Zeta was clipping you with full screen safe on block neutral skips into 60% of your health bar randomly. The pacing of the game is still going to be much faster than vanilla and imo that is a good thing, but last patch was way too much for my taste. Overall this patch is great other than Belial being buffed of all things.
@@VsolidThe Belial buffs, much like all the other top tier characters ,were minimal if you look at the bigger picture. Especially for Belial with the U skills getting nerfed overall

It only scales if the combo starter is the rising jump normal, it doesnt scale mid combo like that

algorithm boost! you are doing god's work
Great video! Thank you for doing this. It’s been so long since I played that just reading the changes didn’t really gel for me.
Thanks for going over the changes much appreciated
Amazing, thank your your efforts I'll be here till the end.
Great breakdown thank you!
Thanks for the hard work!!

Great video
Timestamps plz
I just added them in! Thanks for the feedback!
Nice to see damage reduction. Less brainless combos and more actual thought into spending BP.
Oh, look how they gutted my girl. Poor Zeta.
the video is great but it needs time stamps so bad
Thanks for pointing this out! I went ahead and added them in today. Hope it helps!

GBFVSR fast and offensively focused ? I'm not sure we're talking about the same game
Don't you love when casuals talk about stuff they don't know about
