As a sailor, I can confirm the reality is its one of the most challenging jobs there is with respect to the toll it takes on you physically, mentally and with respect to family. But it's an essential job without which the entire world would shut down in a matter of few days. Proud to have sailed almost 10 years now. But even more proud of my parents, my wife and my kid who have had to deal with a lot more while I have been away.
My dad has the same experience, that, when he started his career as a sea farer in 1975, on his first ship namely Talamba (P&O), the engine caught fire in the Atlantic ocean. By the grace of God all were saved along the ship. They were somewhere close to French territory hence a team from France came to rescue with another ship sailing in nearby waters but they succeeded in repairing their own ship. ☺️
Hats off to the team to bring the unsung heroes on stage whose importance is not known by many people out there Karan Sir , keep growing, love from Maharashtra :)
My father works in the merchant Navy. I have travelled with him a couple of times on ships and it's a really breathtaking experience, I would say better than cruise ships. But on the flip side the hardships he has to go through, the responsibilities he has to take as the captain, and the frequent near misses with disasters really gets me and my mother worried. I literally cry whenever my father is scolded by the company officials. Merchant Navy officers are really the unsung heroes.

Beautiful one.. personally i liked the way you have portrayed in this video what a Sea-farer has to go through sailing across the oceans myself hailing from a Merchant Navy family my father being rhe Captain of the cargo ship. I remember few of the instances from my childhood memories when i remember facing swelling, Pitching & Rolling as mentioned in this video. It was terrifying indeed ( those days it was allowed to carry the Family of the Captain on board). Finally, i completely agree with the last words spoken out that a Sea-farer life is not that easy as it seems! Yes you have good money but it comes at a certain cost for sure!!

True sailors with positive spirit enjoy rough seas with challenges and smooth seas never made a smart sailor. Now seaman becoming more like a businessman and no more seamanship spirit only focus on money. On the shore Doctors and Now days IT Engineers make more money then sailors and enjoy their time with their wife and family. Choice is purely based on ones real interest. You are just a Junior officer as 3O long way to go and learn lot of things till you are master of the vessel. Normally you people as seaman / crew always stay away from the social problems on the land !! happily on board ship away from human beings as a sea men. Wish you all on board always safe and pleasant voyagers ahead boy. Take care 😀👍👌😍😍

I am aware of all such situations coz my husband is also in merchant navy.He is a Captain.Trust me everyday we live in fear. But I m very proud of my husband. This career is a sacrificing one coz there is always risks and one has to be away from family.
My brother is a 2nd engineer. And last year in September while he was sailing a big swirl hit their ship, totally unexpected but there were warnings about the weather but it was better comparatively to what they faced a day before. Unfortunately, two of his colleagues lost their lives as they got hit by the huge wave. The incident still haunts me when I was actually not even there facing it and my heart goes out to the families who lost their son, father, husband and brother. Hats off to all the sailors who out their risking their life, missing out on festivities and major occasions in life. It’s needs lot of courage to be there and face all this. Respect to all the sailors to keep the world moving through cargo, oil and other transportation.
really cool explanation and making us understand how really tough life on sea and I liked your positivity and I liked the way you are enjoying your profession which is more important. whatever do your duty and leave next to God.All the best for all your endeavours. good luck
Jo log jaan hatheli pe le ke chalte hain apni parvah kiye bagaair unko salaam. Jab tak jindagi hai tab tak risk hai pata nahi kal kya hoga. Nature, universe, God usse upar kuch nahi hai. when you encounter situations like these then you understand hum nature ke saamne kitne majboor hain. Jitna bada kaam utni hi responsibility aur tough training. I know because all warriors do not fight in the battlefield ❤❤❤
Same thing happened to me on my last ship in the mid Atlantic Ocean. That we were doing only 2-4knots at full RPM. That time we are stuck for 2 days due to small TRS developed on that area. Our ETA to Brazil also increased. But finally thank god we were saved.
Beautifully explained in a very simple language where my 2nd std child can even understand..this profession is so much appreciated by me n I urge kids to take that courage n be a part of this..
The last lines he said hit hard nearly like a wave. And makes this job one of the toughest job in the list. And this applies to all 'Every thing comes at a cost'.

ek baat to saaf lagi "Jaako rakhey saayeinyaa maar sakey na koyi" aaur duwaon ka sath bas aur us Rab ki meher aap Ney bilkul sahi kaha kudrat aur khudaa ke saamney insani hikamat aur hukumat kuchh bhi nahi. God bless you take care bro wish u a happy and safe journey. Jai Hind Jai Bharat 🙏
Take care
😀👍👌😍😍
I am aware of all such situations coz my husband is also in merchant navy.He is a Captain.Trust me everyday we live in fear. But I m very proud of my husband. This career is a sacrificing one coz there is always risks and one has to be away from family.
Bhot mushkil hota hai kisi apne ko roj danger me dekhna uper wala hamesha apna hath aap ki family per rakhe
Thankyou big brain co and karan sir for putting efforts to show the ghost lives of seafarers ❤️

Hats off to you Sir! And how beautifully you have explained the situation and new experiences.. you are a true hero
Jo log jaan hatheli pe le ke chalte hain apni parvah kiye bagaair unko salaam. Jab tak jindagi hai tab tak risk hai pata nahi kal kya hoga.
Nature, universe, God usse upar kuch nahi hai. when you encounter situations like these then you understand hum nature ke saamne kitne majboor hain.
Jitna bada kaam utni hi responsibility aur tough training. I know because all warriors do not fight in the battlefield ❤❤❤
Sir aapka face sab bata raha hai ki aap kis situation se guzre hain, still strong at all situations.god blessed you.
These things must be told , we can know a lot from this 👍
This is the best channel I have ever seen in my life ..
Karan bhaiya ko hindi bolte hue such a new feeling
❤️
thanks a lot big brain team for inviting KSN and keep inviting such people
Every defense force is the hero of country not just the army!! I really respect you sir jai hind 🇮🇳
The last lines he said hit hard nearly like a wave. And makes this job one of the toughest job in the list. And this applies to all 'Every thing comes at a cost'.
Very less youtube channels are there which i subscribe and press bell after watching the videos. But I could not resist myself this time. Your job is equally risky with the soldier posted in the first bunker of LOC. A big Salute to You and Your Profession . God Bless You All. Thanks for bringing cargos for us.

I watched this video because I will be sailing and working in Cruise Ships soon and this will be my first time ever in my life, but during the process every seafarer need to take few courses which even I did and then I heard some stories about their experiences and it was mind boggling.
And Captain Karan Veer Singh was so very right that the Seafarer are not recognised the way they should be.
It was lovely listening to you sir.
Thank you for this episode Big Brainco 😊
