I am in Dougs situation right now; a woman stopped me about a year ago on the street, and was so happy to see me! I had no idea who she was but I played along real well. Until today I don't know who she is but we do small talk every time we cross paths. She even told me her Sam moved to another town, I have no idea if Sam is a boy or a girl but I got the feeling that it's her kid, whom I am supposed to remember...
Is she hot?
nice made up story, bro.
Doug used to deliver to him on a semi-regular basis but with all the customers Doug sees, he forgot him. So one time Doug delivered a certain package to him. The guy was really waiting for this particular package and was excited to get it. Unfortunately it came 'COD'. Cash on delivery. He had no money on him so Doug, being the nice guy he is, paid for the package. The guy promised he would pay Doug back. Doug said "don't worry about it". The guy insisted even though every time Doug saw him he still had no money. The guy was really annoying. Finally Doug got sick of the guy apologizing and blew up at him just a bit to "forget it, please!!". This kind of hurt the guys feelings and that explains why they parted in a bad way. The guy eventually moved out of Zone 12 (Dougs delivery zone) but he got Dougs home address from Applebaum so he could send a check. He never did. That was 3 years before the Thanksgiving shopping event. That's why at the store he tried to give Doug money, and knew his address.
🗿
wow
why is phrasing it as "just a gesture" and is being open about the amount if he owes him something specific? seems more like immaterial damage and a personal cause (not professional) to me.
No I don't think so.
@@doxfie. You are right, by the time they saw each other at the supermarket it was more like immaterial damage. Lots of times when someone says you don't have to pay them back you say "well at least let me give you something", thats what this is. The other answer to your concern is he may not remember the exact amount anymore so he is asking Doug "how much do you want"?. Maybe he thinks Doug deserves interest.
Dana Gould played his character with such affable sincerity. ❤
His character reminds me of the one he played in Seinfeld too lol
@@TheBlackKryptonite Fragile Frankie Merman!

“Did I go through some kind of phase?”😂😂😂
That's the line that gets me lmaoo
Bi-curios phase
Dana Gould he’s so great actor and he from modern family.
He also acted old Seinfeld friend in episode "The Junk Mail
Fragile frankie merman
Well, there really is no junk-mail. Well, everybody wants to get a check or a birthday card, but... It requires just as much man-power to deliver it as their precious little greeting cards!
Seinfeld's van!!!!
I just love it when Doug was getting into a heated argument with someone he doesn’t even remember
Did they ever say who this guy was ? 😂
That guy was great on Seinfeld!
Legend says he's still in the woods diggin
Geez, how many Seinfeld actors were on this show? They even had Bania in an episode.
I wonder how that Thanksgiving dinner went? (Doug invited the guy over at the end)
Awkward
Better than the one where they got robbed
This guy went to high school with Jerry, so does this mean Doug and Jerry Seinfeld are in the same universe. Jk
Where can I see the rest of this?
i think i remember this happening once when someone knows you and you don't know them wtf
Hey again.... hombre
Seinfelds van! Seinfelds van!!
She is following Ted Mosbys mother she should have been in Cleveland what’s she doing in Queens ?
Very relatable. At least once in our lives, we all meet that person who recognizes us but for the life of you, you have no fucking idea who they are or where you know each other from. Very awkward situation.
😂
Or misidentifies you. I get some of those. Some people are terrible with faces and don't know it.
Only awkward if you make it awkward by pretending you know who they are when you don't. Instead of getting stuck in your ego just tell them you don't remember them, can always break the ice after by saying somthing like 'ohh ya, hey how have you been? you look so different since I last saw you!' (even if they don't really look any different). Then you can actually reconnect with an old aquantance instead of creating an awkward situation for yourself.
I ran into someone who know me at a gas station and I pretended to know who they were even though they were wearing a motorcycle helm and covering their face. Good times.
@@Oleg-oe1rc every single thing u just said ❤❤❤ except for that dishonest/lying bit...
This is the coziest episode of the series. Lol. I like how the whole episode is spent in the market.
Always thought the same !! 😁😊😌
I forgotten how many gems were in season one. it almost feels like a different show compared with what it would later become. this channel shows the highlights.
Actually i liked the show because imho it has been one of the few shows in history which got better by every season passed. I see your point about this scene along many others being just gold, however i think the character development throughout the later series was outstanding, which made the later seasons even better. However the quality of the last season was pretty much like any other sitcom worse, because they were trying t wrap up the story.
@@KingExituS I pretty much agree. I think the peak years were between seasons 3-5, with 4 being the best. they really established their own identity by then.
season one was very different in tone. more family oriented (despite the adult humour).I rarely see those episodes. yet I enjoyed them despite the fact that the show was trying to find itself. rewatching them felt fresh.
@@jayfriday9485 You got that right m8; the show was so gr8, but i guess the peak was really season 3-5.
One thing i didn't like about the show was what they did to Richie. Richie was a great addition to the show, with lots of potential. He, Spence and Doug went to the same highschool, so they were pretty old friends, he just dissapeared suddenly, and they didn't event mention what happended to him afterwards, not even once.
@@KingExituS I actually didn’t like Richie, and I was happy to see him leave. he was slow, a womaniser, and he bullied spence (although Doug did this too). the show got better once he and carrie’s sister left, and with the changing of the opening credits. just my opinion of course.
@@jayfriday9485 pretty much everybody bullied Spence :D. I totally agree about Sarah, she didn't do anything, the character was unnecessary.
Why didn't Doug just tell the guy he doesn't remember him 🤦
Sitcom bullshit
Doug is too nice 😅
Cuz that'd be too damn logical n rational... 😀
Because it would've made for a boring episode.
@@justinbenning2428 The episode wasn't that funny to begin with
They should've revealed who that guy was.
One of my favourite episodes. Never revealed who he was 🤷🏻♂️
And he thought a big sum of money would make up for whatever he’d caused Doug… back then!! 🤔
Thank you. Not knowing whether or not he did would have bothered me for at least ten minutes.
His name is Fragile Frankie Merman, he gave Jerry Seinfeld a van.
@@giraffesareselfish9563who is he in this show not in Seinfeld bruhh 😂😂
@@giraffesareselfish9563 This is a different show!!!!!!!

Cameron’s mystery buddy modern family.
I am good at remembering faces and names, but there was one time a girl came up to me at a train station and said: "Hi, nice to see you again!" and there I was, questioning my memory and life because she was a stranger to me. Even though she told me how she knows me, she was a friend of a friend, I could still not for the life of me remeber her. This was in high school.
Weight loss or gain can dramatically alter facial appearance.
What actually happened between these two? 🤔
I have things like this happen all the time. I run a business that sees a lot of people, some spanning decades. People come up to me like they are family and I have no idea of who they are. They can be someone I took care of a decade earlier for one week. After the contract was up I said good bye and moved on to the next one. To them I was the person in charge of that one week and that that cherished memory. But my brain is only so big, there isnt enough space for everyone’s memories just my own. Although they are still in my memory on some level it’s seen as a group of all the filled contracts for that particular season, with very little detail.
Do you pretend to know them?
@@curtismaize exactly my thoughts/question 😀
nice made up story, bro.
Love Doug's and Carrie relationship! A love/combative one! 🤣
3:23 LOL. Back when caller ID wasn't a thing and "*69" was. Kids these days will never understand.
everybody knows 69 for something else
And back when “Do you have your cellphone on you?” was something someone might ask.
Remember *67
Caller ID was a thing then.. *69 was early 90s and caller ID was around just a couple years later.
Insane acting skills on him
Had to get on to watch one while I could too funny 😂😂😂
He was probably a High School or middle school bully to him. He knows he drives a delivery truck bc of a reunion. My guess
who is that dude?
hilarious as always
Does he ever find out who the guy is?
nope
Doug’s man stalker did pretty good as an Actor.💯💯
Dana Gould
Who was that guy in the end?
Donny Osmond
Moose was stuck in line for a long time
moose is doug not richie
Your right. Richie was funny they should have kept him for more seasons lol
Is that summer George?
Isn't that Dana Gould?
Maybe a Ex-Girlfriend which transformed to a man?
This almost feels like something out of Seinfeld.
