I can't tell you how many times I've watched this show, but each time I still loved every second of it. With the first movie being an absolute disgrace, there's a lot riding on this next release. So Netflix, you've had a good track record so far. Please don't botch this.
The one thing I hope they don't change is the humor. Aang riding penguins, Iroh's love for tea, Bumi being a crazy old coot, Sokka's dry humor, Toph's blind jokes, the cactus juice, Momo being Momo, all that sort of stuff.
I'm pretty worried that they'll cut characters like Bumi out tbh edit since everyone is missing the point: to clarify, I don't mean specifically Bumi. My worry is that episodes like "The King of Omashu" will get cut entirely in order to save runtime
I like how the editors made a point to show us everything the movie left out. Omashu, the Kyoshi Warriors, Crescent Island, Iroh and Zuko truly being in exile, normal firebending, you name it. They're making the effort, that's for sure. Hell, they're even showing us the Fire Nation's attack on the Air Nomads. We didn't even get that in the *show* outside of a couple of wide shots.
I regret to inform y’all that Michael Dante DiMartino (the original creator) walked away from the project because he didn’t like what was being done. He said to take his name off the project as it wasn’t faithful to what he had created.
All I want is good cgi, good fight scene, accurate name pronounciations. That scene where a whole group of earth benders doing a whole dance just to move a small boulder in slowmo still haunts me to this day.
Bad camera work. If you watch it again, the rock is being moved by a guy who comes into the shot too late in the vottom left. If anything makes the film even worse because he was so bad at his job, he allowed it to be misunderstood.
Seeing the live action cast really makes you realize how young the characters are in the show. Hoping the best for these young actors and their well-being because there’s definitely a lot of pressure on them from the fan base.
The biggest thing I’m gonna be looking to see if they capture is actually the humor and the lighthearted parts of the show. I know it was a kid show and we’re all adults now, But I think what really made avatar such an approachable show is because at the end of the day ang could see the optimism and positivity in dark Times.
idk man. the jokes have to actually be funny, and the action does have to be serious otherwise it will just be omega cringe cause the anime is in a style that suits that kind of lightheartedness. But i do agree that if it's too serious it's gonna be even more bad i suppose? but idk when i think of live adaptations i think of dark knight and how nolan and co made the joker character into an extremely memorable villain for probably all of eternity. At same time, so long as it's better than the original airbender movie... i think i'll be alright.
Also I hope they add things that were not in the nick series but were in the accompanying books. Like from the graphic novels that have more details about each character.
Too bad I always watch Avatar dubbed. And all the Polish voices are better. But everything is a little better without that pesky american accent. Honestly, if you people paid as much effort into different things (like thinking) as you do in finding infinitely more vowels in words, you'd get out of your silly culture war already.
@@doobie1414 I enjoyed it. This whole shebang about the live action sucking is just an echo chamber of opinion. I'll admit there were some things that felt off but overall, it was a nice adaptation.
I don't need this show to be perfect. I don't need it to be better than the original. I just need to be able to feel the makers of the show cared and respected the source material and its audience. I can't deny I'm nervous, but this trailer is giving me some of those vibes. The music especially had me feeling nostalgic, but they still made it different than the original, in a good way in my opinion.
This. Whenever I see a remake these days, I try to respect the artists' decisions but at the same time I always want them to stick to the original creator's core concepts and aesthetics. It's difficult to take a step back and think about the fact that stories in this world always evolve and I have to be okay with that change. That said this show looks like it's going to be great in all the right ways!
Can’t believe trailers are still only uploaded in 1080p quality in 2023/2024! Should be 4K, which the shows and filmed are shot in already. In fact, it should be 8K, with UA-cam’s insane bitrate compression, which can be shot professionally on a phone now, but baby steps here.
After seeing One Piece LA I kinda came away feeling that regardless of how good it was... what was the point? I imagine they spent an insane amount of money to get effects and costumes that were almost as good as just watching animation, all to tell the same, albeit trimmed-down story? Really, no matter how true to the source material it is, it feels like these aren't for me and mine. It feels like it's for those that know about anime but aren't into it. Like my step-dad who still says he doesn't really like animation despite having gotten him to watch Clone Wars, Rebels, Bad Batch etc and he loved them for the story but, as he said, "I wish they'd been live action."
I admire that there were hints of the original soundtrack in this teaser trailer. Means we will hopefully hear much of the original score in the show, just reorchestrated. The show woulan't be complete without hearing Avatar's Love or leaves From the vine at least once
I just finished watching the series and there's only one thing that's bothering me. THE LACK OF EMOTION AND EXPRESSION IN SOME ACTOR'S FACES AND BODY MOVEMENT. Everything is absolutely great, from the effects, especially on their bending, it's way way waaaaayyy more better than that of the movie. Zuko and Sokka I think made justice in their characters, I am not sure about Aang and Katara, especially Katara (sorry girl). I think she lacks facial and body expression, in all episodes I feel like I am watching an actor that is reading (literally) a script. Same goes to Aang, he's not a bad actor but not that great either, but his presence is shouting Aang so that's a great point I guess. whenever they are in serious dialogue, I can feel from their body movement the awkwardness and lack of emotions. BUT OVERALL THIS ADAPTATION DESERVES A SECOND SEASON, IT DESERVES TO FINISH TILL THE FINAL CHAPTER!! NETFLIX DON'T YOU DARE CANCEL THIS!!!!
I relate to this so hard, I feel like Katara did good but emotion wise she could have done a lot better, still she's likable and I'm not too mad about it lol And Aang wasn't so bad in my opinion. He wasn't as "out there" as the original but still showed a lot of depth in his character and I got pretty emotional in a lot of his scenes, especially with Gyatso 😭 Still I loved the live action and can't wait for season 2!!!!
I think if they do the second season, Roku might let Aang in about Sozin's Comet since they brought up the comet in the post credit scene. And I look forward to who'll be playing as Toph
I really hope they can capture aangs emotions when he’s angry, the moment he goes from being a goofy kid to being the most dangerous person always gives me chills
I think that’s what we all strive to be in real life which probably why every fan loves that about him. Fun, loving, kind but don’t get on his bad side or else lol
I don't think anyone ever doubted the aesthetic of the show being good, it's the writing most people have their doubts about. Lets not forget that the original creators left this project because of creative differences with Netflix.
Its netflix, their writers have a habit of s@*ting on the source material. That and casting is almost always bad. Honestly a live action version doesn't need to exist, the story is already fully covered in the original show.
There shouldn't have been a movie to begin with. A series like this benefits from methodic story telling not a light rehashing that ignores the journey itself as they all grow into their own. Sokka, Katara and Aang changed so much from the beginning of the series with really good development into the saviors they became. Some cartoons cant become movies
@@seleviathanYeah I can only see it as a money grab, perhaps the only ethical reason being not wanting to just copy+paste the four books into live action to give it some uniqueness in its pacing but I think it’s the former because that shit was atrocious and should die in obscurity.
The charm of it is going to rely on the chemistry and acting of the kid actors, that's what was great about the original, the comradery and the characters. Hate to be cynical but no fancy CGI trailer will impress me till I see how the crew gets along. Def. hope they nail it tho
Just seeing Aang smile and laugh while riding Appa with Katara and Sokka and Moma flying beside them, already looks a million times better than the movie that does not exist.
I wonder if all eight episodes will have the same long opening theme with Katara telling the story and saying the 4 elements? Or maybe they’ll make a short version for 7 of the episodes?
When I heard the harpsichord(?) I could feel all my hair stand up. It's all of the nostalgia and respect for what came before that I wanted from Netflix's The Witcher actually realized.

@@emileponcelet3439 A few reasons: 1) As ncard00 already stated, the job is already done, they did the work, it would be zero extra effort to upload the video in 4k or 8k. They for no good reason are actively choosing to upload a lower quality video. 2) 4k will look better not just on a native 4k display, but also on a 1080p screen. The differences in quality will be far more noticeable on a native 4k display, but they are not unnoticeable on a display with a smaller internal resolution. 3) Citation needed on a "majority" of people not evening having a 4k screen 4) Let's say you're 100% correct in that assertion, here is a fact that I can back up with data: The market share for 1080p displays are shrinking year over year and slowly dying out, meanwhile, the market for 4k displays are only growing year over year and will continue to for the coming years with a bright future.
I admire that there were hints of the original soundtrack in this teaser trailer. Means we will hopefully hear much of the original score in the show, just reorchestrated. The show wouldn't be complete without hearing Avatar's Love or Leaves From the Vine at least once.
Actually, I hope they cut it entirely. Not that I don't love it or anything. I hope they leave out, out of respect for Mako. If they need something like that, I'd hope they leave it be and write a new song.
I am here for this. Suki and the Kyoshi Warriors look surprisingly fantastic. And that Zuko spinning fire kick... This could look cheesy SO easily and I don't think it will be.
The music is giving me goosebumps. Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko may not be the showrunners anymore but I do hope Netflix does this series justice. It definitely deserves that.
Netflix I'm begging you. For the love of all Avatar fans out there. Please don't mess this up. The animated series is a masterpiece. Let that be your guide and script.
I'm here to say, i dont care about that this versión isn't perfect, it's beatifull, really touch me emotionaly speaking and y cant be more in love with the tecnicall develoment of the world.
Something I’m hoping they still have is the same opening and endings. Katara’s monologue at the beginning of every episode is iconic, along with the introduction of the elements and world. Also the iconic “previously on avatar…”
Since all 8 episodes will debut on Netflix at once, I don't think they'll use "previously on Avatar" throughout the first season. Although if seasons two and three do happen, it would be cool to use that quote for the beginning of them as a way to recap the previous season.
I actually don't want or expect the intro for every episode. We're in a very different era of binging content. When people might watch an episode or two back-to-back, or within a day or so, I don't need to see the intro every time. Especially not "Previously on Avatar..." for an episode you finished 5 seconds ago. I would be happy if they did Katara's full intro for the first episode, and if they did the abbreviated intro for the season finale. It would be nice to see the abbreviated intros at the start and end of both books two and three. But I don't expect a minute-long intro taking up valuable screentime every episode, just for one component of fan service.
@@jeffreykare I mean it’s the same intro monologue aside from the previously on avatar segment so why not slap it on every single one if the intro is already made. Of course if it’s not made at all, it will be a different story, but like I said I’m “hoping”. Also I thought when I watched stranger things they had the same music intro at the beginning of every episode, but I like the song so even though I binged it, I never skipped it. And if people think it’s too repetitive they can easily have a button to skip the intro.
@@lilacoceanfeather I agree I wouldn’t want it to cut into precious screentime, but personally for me and my brothers and friends I watched with, it is tradition to never skip the intro for the whole series and recite the intro together word for word like an avatar cult lol. It’s just really nostalgic for me, and though it’s repetitive, that’s kind of the point. Avatar is just that good
Katara and her brother look pale af though... Edit: If you're white, don't come here with your own theories about how brown and black skins work like the other bozos did right below. I'm mixed and have brown skin myself, half of my family have black skin so I think I know better about skin color than you all, white little girls, so spare me with your BS. Thank you in advance.
First impression isn't bad. The landmarks look beautiful, the characters are recognizable and the bending actually looks faithful unlike the other one. I'm still skeptical but interested
My only complaint, at least for the teaser, is Zuko's scar. Or rather, his face tattoo. No one can convince me that is actually meant to look like a real scar.
The CGI for Appa and Momo is bad but I guess I can't fault them for trying, the bending doesn't look too bad. We'll see if it takes a million years to launch a rock like it did in the movie.
Him and Sokka both, that was the mistake they made with the live action movie. The show was rarely serious for a whole episode at a time, and for good reason!!
The problem is like any other live action show. The audiences, new audiences that they bring in, won't know what the characters are like, and they will be learning about them for the first time. And to keep them engaged, they don't want to see Goofy. They want to see serious, crazy problems. They would rather see a dark show and not keep it like the anime or cartoon was. But for me it's going to be a problem.
@@jeremynavarijo5746 for nearly any other show I'd agree, but ATLA is just too well known to really say this. You're probably right as far as that being where their heads are at, but since this show is pretty much a nostalgia remake, it's silly of them to not pander to that audience at least a bit. I'm sure they'll do better with it than the trailer suggests though, the shot of Katara and Aang on Appa with Sokka in the background legit chillin gives me a lot of hope that they're gonna nail the vibe of it.
I will say that I'm cautiously optimistic. You've shown some of the more dramatic elements and they look really good, but please don't forget the light-hearted moments as well. The penguin sledding, the 'Secret Tunnel' nomads, Bumi's...everything. The balance between the serious and the silly is part of what made the original so good.
I can't believe that I'm saying this, but this actually looks like it holds potential. They have the musical themes from the OG, the visuals are stunning, the bending shown here looks accurate to the source material. The only thing I pray is that they don't screw up the story.
I hope so as well, we shall see. One thing that gives me a little hope is the director did come out before and say he was not going to modernize the show and he wanted to keep true to the original source material. Also, historically Netflix has been pretty hands off when it comes to how media they finance gets made as long as it stays on budget, so might mean there won't be much studio interference, which can also be good. I am looking forward to it though.
i seriously cant wait to watch it. it already looks awesome and the music really makes it sound more epic. i loved the animated show so when it was announced that a live action series was being made and they were doing it right with appropriate casting, i was really excited and looking forward to watching it. i hope it does well so they can do the other books for multiple seasons.
As long as they don’t make gritty and dark, like have a mixture of serious storytelling and light hearted humor that the animated show has there’s a chance
Another typical kid who hates gritty and dark movies. Because of people like you, we are getting trash type of marvel movies and cinematic movie like killer of the flower moon failed in the box office. Further, people like you are also the reason why Zack Synder's justice league was cancel and they have to release Joss Whedon's justice league to entertain audience like you.
@@George-uy2kbgenerally agreed, but i don't know if atla would benefit from over realism. I liked it because i felt imersed in a world i enjoyed and felt like i could be a part of
I’ve had so much disappointment from different live action adaptations, but this is one that looks so promising. Please don’t break my heart Netflix. Edit: Holy Crap, never had 1k+ likes! Thanks everybody!
“Always remember who you are.” So long as Netflix keeps this in mind and stays true to the original show and all that it means and represents, then this really looks like it could have a lot of promise. Can’t lie - this trailer is getting my hopes up.
@@razi1992 I mean it's likely that the real reason Bryke quit was because Nickolodeon offered them Avatar studios, so I wouldn't set expectations by that.

Bu fragman, izleyicileri gerçeklik ile hayal gücünün kesiştiği bir yolculuğa çıkarıyor ve onları filmi tam anlamıyla keşfetmeye teşvik ediyor.
The fact that the original show has had 2 adaptations and is still regarded as one of the best TV shows of all time is a true testament to the quality of this story. I love ATLA
It already looks a million times better than the movie. And hearing that epic version of the main theme was awesome! I’m hopeful for this one. Edit: Wow. Y’all are adamant about the movie not existing. Must have just been a nightmare I had. That’s a relief.
To me, one of the most important elements of ATLA is the sense of play. That, in spite of everything, the gaang is still able to smile and have fun, and thats a lot because of Aang. We see him smile one time in this teaser, and the whole vibe is pretty serious. I know the audience has aged up so maybe they're trying to make it feel more adult, but I hope that the show keeps what i consider to be a pretty core part of the series
@@blackdice4931bruh like who tf was that person in the movie. And then the brother who was probably was the goofiest in the series was acting like he had a stick up his butt which was soooo off character
This is one of the things I’m worried about. This trailer doesn’t look fun. It doesn’t have any energy or life to it. It’s the tonal opposite of the series. They checked some boxes on what they needed to include because it wasn’t in the Shamalan movie. Yay, I guess. But it still feels like I’m watching the ALTA version of GoT or something.
the fact that this teaser alone surpasses alot of netflix trailer is so wild. avatar community is one of the most supportive and passionate in this generation.
@@snowhunter7536they did good with the casting. paul is perfect for iroh. the new zuko looks much better than the movie zuko. the water tribe is actually being portrayed by indigenous actors and everyone else is of asian descent. i’m glad they did that instead of whitewashing or blackwashing the characters
@@jemapulbryan Hey, blame China for that. It's a well know fact that many asian cultures look down on darker skinned individuals (goes back to the days when only the poor worked out under the sun and got a tan). In this day and age and considering they seem to have cast almost exclusively asian (or half-asian) actors, I highly doubt any changes to the way characters look was done to appease white America.
That view of the South Pole, Omashu, and Crescent Island was absolutely stunning. And WOW Gordon Cormier as Aang (+ all the other actors of course) looks so on point and I got teary the moment the theme song started playing. I really hope this does the series justice! Cheers for Team Avatar :)
Visually it looks pretty spot on with the animated series and the charcaters look good but I hope STORY wise and writing wise the charcaters are as charming and appealing and evolve as the story progresses Hopefully everyone has good chemistry together. CG effects aren't hard to wow people its the foundation of writing that really wows an audience. Hopefully optimistic with this.
To be honest, Appa and Momo both looked incredibly uncanny in this trailer and seemed like straight out of an early 2010s video game cinematic. The writing really has to pull its weight.
Looks great! I just hope that it doesn't take itself too seriously. Part of what made the original show so great was its lighthearted nature, and I hope the live action captures that
@@jetfuelcantmeltsteelmemes8791yea, live action One piece was good, but that was only because Oda also had a hand in it. Oda did not just have suggestions, he played a vital role into making the series that the director and producer had to respect. They had to convince him to allow them to do certain parts for example, Garp was only in the show so early because Oda allowed it, they needed Oda’s permission. Avatar is not in the same position as One Piece.
Idk if we saw the same show but the last air bender was definitely not all that light hearted. It dealt with some incredibly heavy themes, had some downright creepy scenes, and was pretty violent
Ive never watched a trailer so many times. Please dont mess this up. This is the best animated series of all time to me and it would mean so much to the fans if it is done justice
Good thing you said "to me" As critically and universally it's an objective fact that's there are several animated series much much better than Avatar.
@deetsitmeisterjd oh shit when dis the votes come in. I demand that the sovereign government of Uranus recount their ballots. I really hope you don't actually think it's globally agreed their are better anime serises. It's all opinion this isn't math where it is generally agreed upon that 2+2=4. I think avatar is the best ani.ated show ever so it's not agreed upon sorry to burst your bubble bub.
They seem to have nailed the aesthetic and effects. Here's hoping they also nail the characters, humor, innocence and coming of age themes that defined the original show. Fingers crossed!
Seeing Crescent Island looking exactly like it did in the show brought a smile to my face. Idk why Omashu didn’t do that, but still. This looks so good! Can’t wait to see it!
Wow. This looks WAY better than I thought it would be. This actually looks like it can be an awesome series! I just hope Netflix can keep the original show’s spirit and tone intact like they did with One Piece. If they do that, I bet it will be just as memorable as the original series! 😊
@@denny4551 I agree. The movie had WAY worse effects than this. It looked like a slightly beefed up film from that mock buster film studio The Asylum 😂
I love how colorful everything looks. Every character wears clothes with bright colors symbolizing their respective nations. The blue on Sokka and Katara is especially striking. It gives the show a very warm, inviting feeling. After years of faded colors and drab designs in movies and tv, this feels like a breath of fresh air.
It gives off One Piece live action vibe, which is VERY good btw. If Netflix’s team can tackle that, the amount of respects that’s bound to happen when they can tackle this and MORE!
Exactly 💯 I was admiring the textile choices too, the fabrics are both saturated and flowy. It's more dynamic and less rigid The fabrics will have really nice movement in the action scenes. Can't wait to see, February here we come!!
This show was loved because of its story telling, its well-timed comedic chops, and unexpected drama. The characters are relatable and the real heroes are not the ones you always see in the forefront. It's a fine mix of everything you want in a show and then some. I really hope that Netflix doesn't disappoint.
I don't think every live adaptation will successfully manage to adapt the comedy part. They tend to be more serious and less cartoonish. It's understandable.. that's why I just accepted one piece the way it is, even though my little mind always said it's boring lol
As a kid who grew up with the original animated show who was severely disappointed with the 2010 movie, this looks like we are finally getting a TRUE live action Avatar adaption that we always wanted. This looks incredible
I just finished watching it and it honestly was a lot better than I expected. The production was incredible, the actors are all likable and fitting for their characters. There were some changes/differences and even some things that I felt needed a little improvement, but as a life long Atla fan I approve. Cant wait for season 2!! EDIT: I also really wanted to mention the first episode, I love how they really showed the airbenders' last stand against the firenation. So emotional, so good.. I'ma go watch it again lol
The iceberg, the Kyoshi Warriors, Omashu, the fire bending, the avatar state, the moment Aang realized the air nation is gone, seeing Appa and Momo, the casting, the wardrobe, the soundtrack and basically everything in this barely two minute video looks absolutely and accurately amazing! The trailer alone makes it seem like we'll finally get the right version this time and I fully believe this.
@Itsmy2cent It isn’t really that bad, the only part I noticed was when they were on appa. Hopefully the series is so good we forget the CGI. Personally I think it looks fine, but I’m not great with cgi so I wouldn’t know
It's nearly impossible to have any new adaptation be on par with the animated series, but I have to say, this is looking more and more phenomenal in its own right. Previous attempts of this story left us with the lowest of low bars, but still the attention to detail is leagues beyond my initial expectations. Tone, scale, special effects...I really like what I'm seeing.
I Mean; this ALREADY Looks better than ANYTHING that M. Night Shyamalan b*stardized in the Lame Low-effort Live-action The Last Airbender Movie from 2010!!
I think it would have the same purpose as the One Piece real life remake. Animations don't always translate well into real life adaptations. Still worth looking at this with an open mind to how they go about it's production.
I'm actually holding up hope for this because the teaser did not look bad and each character looks good for who they are preforming as. I only hope the real deal will carry my expectations
It probably won't. My 1st thought was: "they did it again" and as soon as I saw Azula, I knew. They will want to tell too much in too little time with half baked characters. Like every other live action. Even One Piece's, which is by far the most respectable on Netflix, was halfway where it should have been because they lacked time for the last few episodes.
@@elsephiroth666have you seen the girl acting as Azula? you guys like complaining about every little thing if you see her audition you will know that she did well in representing Azula characteristics . Oh my God I had tears in my eyes....Avatar The last Airbender is my favourite show of all time.... I hope they bring justice to every element of the show and make us the fans happy and proud.
Looks like they FINALLY got it right and cast an Asian to play the main character in a story MADE by an Asian. All these hspaneks acting like they own One Piece because Luffy was played by a brazilian was so cringe and made me roll my eyes hard🙄
The fact that they found a kid who actually looks pretty cool with a shaved head and like he's about the right age for Aang is honestly a miracle in of itself.
On UA-cam there’s interviews with the cast from like 5 months ago where they talk briefly about the characters and the show. Aangs actor genuinely has pretty similar aang energy. Very energetic and enthusiastic. I’m excited to see him play aang it looks like he’ll do a good job so far.
This looks great, I just really hope they keep the spirit of avatar intact… the light hearted ness combined with the serious and epic ness is what made it so beautiful in the first place.
The visuals look stunning, and the source material is so incomparably brilliant that they don’t need to do anything except bring it to life. The less they change, the better. Keeping my fingers crossed they don’t disappoint.
Adaptations rarely adhere super closely to the source material. There's no room for creativity in that. The animated series already exists. If you're expecting a live action reproduction of the cartoon, you'll likely be disappointed. You can honor the source material while still having the live action series be its own thing.
@@spacecase8888 between the visuals and the acting, there would still be plenty of room for creativity in a perfect adaptation. Nobody complains that Jackson's LOTR was too close to the source material. That said, you're probably right; it won't be a 1:1 adaptation
that makes no sense. why would you want a copy of the same thing. no point, rather just watch the series instead then since an adaptation will never be the same anyways, will lack the details and feel you are attached to. But sadly it seems thats what theyre going for
As an Avatar fan this must deliver at all costs. That first episode sets the scene for the entire story. Cannot disappoint at all costs looking forward to see how it goes.

The biggest thing I’m gonna be looking to see if they capture is actually the humor and the lighthearted parts of the show. I know it was a kid show and we’re all adults now, But I think what really made avatar such an approachable show is because at the end of the day ang could see the optimism and positivity in dark Times.
Exactly. Sokka and Aang were constantly cracking jokes. And I really need to see the cactus scene in live action 🤣
idk man. the jokes have to actually be funny, and the action does have to be serious otherwise it will just be omega cringe cause the anime is in a style that suits that kind of lightheartedness.
It has to be perfect unless you like trash. If you want this show to be what you want, you have to keep the fire at the creators feet.
The bar is so low for live action Avatar that even a baby could crawl over it.

I relate to this so hard, I feel like Katara did good but emotion wise she could have done a lot better, still she's likable and I'm not too mad about it lol
And Aang wasn't so bad in my opinion. He wasn't as "out there" as the original but still showed a lot of depth in his character and I got pretty emotional in a lot of his scenes, especially with Gyatso 😭

@@emileponcelet3439 A few reasons:
1) As ncard00 already stated, the job is already done, they did the work, it would be zero extra effort to upload the video in 4k or 8k. They for no good reason are actively choosing to upload a lower quality video.
2) 4k will look better not just on a native 4k display, but also on a 1080p screen. The differences in quality will be far more noticeable on a native 4k display, but they are not unnoticeable on a display with a smaller internal resolution.
3) Citation needed on a "majority" of people not evening having a 4k screen
4) Let's say you're 100% correct in that assertion, here is a fact that I can back up with data: The market share for 1080p displays are shrinking year over year and slowly dying out, meanwhile, the market for 4k displays are only growing year over year and will continue to for the coming years with a bright future.

Something I’m hoping they still have is the same opening and endings. Katara’s monologue at the beginning of every episode is iconic, along with the introduction of the elements and world. Also the iconic “previously on avatar…”
Ooooh that would be so sick!!
I hope they keep Aang as being the goofy kid that he is. He looks very serious in this trailer.
I can't believe that I'm saying this, but this actually looks like it holds potential. They have the musical themes from the OG, the visuals are stunning, the bending shown here looks accurate to the source material. The only thing I pray is that they don't screw up the story.
Supposedly people are saying they may have messed that up….I hope not.

As long as they don’t make gritty and dark, like have a mixture of serious storytelling and light hearted humor that the animated show has there’s a chance
Yeah I love darker adaptations, but ATLA needs some of the sillyness and humor or it just won't feel authentic.
I actually like the gritty and dark but as long as their silliness too. Like I wanna see death, destruction and swearing. But also goofy stuff too
Another typical kid who hates gritty and dark movies.
Yeah, definitely! Aang carried the whole gang with his humor together with Sokka!
he smiled one time is already more than he smiled in the movie adaptation xD

This is one of the things I’m worried about. This trailer doesn’t look fun. It doesn’t have any energy or life to it. It’s the tonal opposite of the series. They checked some boxes on what they needed to include because it wasn’t in the Shamalan movie. Yay, I guess. But it still feels like I’m watching the ALTA version of GoT or something.

It's a well know fact that many asian cultures look down on darker skinned individuals (goes back to the days when only the poor worked out under the sun and got a tan). Hopefully everyone has good chemistry together. CG effects aren't hard to wow people its the foundation of writing that really wows an audience. Hopefully optimistic with this.
As long as they get the right emotions that each character wants us to feel im okay with that.
It would be nice if everything was pronounced the same as the animated version too.

One Piece was able to stay fairly unserious, so I have hope
@@jetfuelcantmeltsteelmemes8791yea, live action One piece was good, but that was only because Oda also had a hand in it. Oda did not just have suggestions, he played a vital role into making the series that the director and producer had to respect. They had to convince him to allow them to do certain parts for example, Garp was only in the show so early because Oda allowed it, they needed Oda’s permission. Avatar is not in the same position as One Piece.

Can't divide by zero.
Was thinking this too!! You don't expect tv to have colour anymore these days
exactly!!! shows nowadays are so serious to the point where artistry in the picture has disappeared to set the serious tone
It gives off One Piece live action vibe, which is VERY good btw.
If Netflix’s team can tackle that, the amount of respects that’s bound to happen when they can tackle this and MORE!
Exactly 💯
I was admiring the textile choices too, the fabrics are both saturated and flowy.
It's more dynamic and less rigid The fabrics will have really nice movement in the action scenes.

This show was loved because of its story telling, its well-timed comedic chops, and unexpected drama. The characters are relatable and the real heroes are not the ones you always see in the forefront. It's a fine mix of everything you want in a show and then some. I really hope that Netflix doesn't disappoint.
This teaser showed drama, but it will fail if it doesn't have the comedy and heart. I hope it does.
I don't think every live adaptation will successfully manage to adapt the comedy part. They tend to be more serious and less cartoonish. It's understandable.. that's why I just accepted one piece the way it is, even though my little mind always said it's boring lol
