Brit living in Canada here. Pleased to see your honesty, all the foreigners here I know think it's bizarre that Canadians love it, though we understand it's mostly a nostalgic pursuit at this point.
If you are in the UK, you should bear in mind that Tim Hortons don’t make anything on the premises. Everything arrives at the store frozen and is heated up to make it appear freshly baked. Along with cheese, one of the things I miss most about the UK are the bakers shop. Tim Hortons might have greater variety of toppings, but their donuts will never come close to something a local bakery has just made fresh. Independent bakers are common here, but. Plenty of people will drive past twenty Tim Hortons to get to a place where the donuts are made on the premises.
That's essentially the same way it is in Canada too ever since Tim Horton's was bought out by an American company RBI. Tim Horton's in Canada has gone really downhill. Good news and bad news. Bad news is they are not that good anymore. Good news is we got a whole lot of them. They are convenient. That's it.
Real bakers are disappearing and Greggs the warmer upper is taking their place. I won't call Greggs a baker because you can't buy bread there. The sausage rolls are crap and their choice is so limited.
I’m British and I lived in Canada for a year. I would go nearly every day as there was one on my uni campus. I thought the UK Tim’s was really similar to their original Canadian counterparts! To put it simply, it tasted the same to me! Gutted they didn’t take my Tim’s Rewards card though 😂
I’m sorry you had to go to Gravesend but I hope you enjoyed your Tim Horton’s. It used to be a Pizza Hut years ago, and the Lidl used to be AMF bowling before it merged with the smaller Lidl next door and became a mega Lidl. As teenagers we used to go bowling and then to Pizza Hut in the school holidays. Good times 🥲
After watching so many UA-cam tutorial videos about trading I was still making losses untill Mr Benedict Wong started managing my investment now, I make $6,800 weekly. God bless Mr Wong. He's been a blessing to my family.
yeah, Ever since I met expert Benedict wong for the first time at a conference in manchester i invested £25,000 and traded in one month making close to £61,500
Thank you for the heads-up about there being a Tim Horton's in Kent. I live near Folkestone, but I took my wife on a surprise trip to the Gravesend branch today. We haven't been to Canada for quite a few years, but she said it was a reminder of our first foreign holiday together. We both tried chicken burgers with lattice fries, and our experience with that seemed a bit better than yours. We visited at lunchtime though, so probably our food was freshly cooked. I gather that a branch is going to open in Margate, which will be a bit closer for us.
As a Canadian raised in the US, I've had Tim Hortons maybe twice in my life. I'm sure I'll need to go there again when I renew my passport to prove I'm really Canadian.
I sent this to our Timmies mad son in law in Burlington ON. I drove from BC to Ontario with him once and I think we stopped at every Timmies along the way!
We have a T.H. near me, I ordered take out just once. Several burgers for me and my flatmates breakfast. What I got was a box of donuts and some bottled drinks.
When we used to live in Montreal we had a friend who was French visit us from Toronto. We asked if she wanted to go get a coffee from Tim Horton's. After a brief pause she replied in her very French accent 'I have been to Tim Horton's many times. But, you know, I have never found coffee there'. Cutting.
There used go be Tim Hortons restaurants in New York City but only briefly. I believe they were closed in 2015. And that's a good thing for me because I won't be walking miles and miles to get a) those gorgeous donut holes, an amazing array of flavors and you seem to like them, (b) that maple and cream filled donut (I don't know of anyone around here that sells maple donuts, but if it's as good as it looks, I'd be addicted to them immediately), and (c) the Ice Cap that looks like a chocolate shake. Thanks for a fun episode! I'll be seeing those yummy items in my dreams!
Timmies Hot Chocolate is straight up THE best hot chocolate of any chain I've tried in he UK, Canada or US. And I love a maple glazed donut, both together make the best sugar rush money can buy!
NO bagels!!! WHAT!?!?!?!?! But chicken strips ,hot dogs, and cheeseburgers, how interesting. I have seen potato wedges and I think I read that some locations were testing pizza??? Tim Hortons is also everywhere and you just know what you are going to get. Those are my fave Timbits too. Good to know the classics are the same. 👍👍
We have a Tim Hortons in Dunstable, for me Icecapp aa great in the summer. Around Christmas they had Turkey and Cranberry toasted sandwich, which seem to be cooked to order (had to wait) and was great and hot.
Writing this while the video continues: I sure hope your partner, when finished with filming, helped you with that massive helping of food! BTW I semi-agree with you on "not that good" (Canadian here). I'd say not great but "pretty good", and a good decent coffee (dark roast, no sugar, black or a bit of milk/cream). No double-doubles for me, thank you, that's not coffee, its syrup.
What you came to my home town of gravesend and I missed you lol, I drive passed this tim hortons every day, And wonder if I should go in, but now i have seen your video I wont bother.
We have a Timmies near where I live! I liked the lattice fries and the French vanilla iced latte. Also the caramel apple donut was great. Oooh, now I want one!😂
I want to visit Canada but it will take a while to save up for it so if ever in gravesend I’ll get the double double, ice cap and Tim bits for a taste of Canada, thanks Alanna!
They built a Tim Horten near me & I intend to go there with one of my best friend’s from school in the uk. In Wales. Iv tried a NYC Company maple syrup but never tried Canadian one. I intend to try that maple’s doughnut & timbits. They also do white hot chocolate so I be trying that when I go to it. Possibly a cold drink if they do any.
I tried UK Tim Hortons when I was in Manchester and I was pleasantly surprised! They have much better selection like they have actual meals not just pastries and the drinks are more creative. They had awesome Halloween themed drinks and donuts
I just love a hot dog (Frankfurter) from time to time, but...If I am buying off a vendor, I want it hot, in a crusty mini-baguette, with lightly fried onions and have all the sauces available to squirt on. Maybe even cheddar cheese gratings on top. A mug of dreadfully cheap instant coffee to go with it would top it off to perfection!
My local Tim Horton's is on my way home from work, and because it's on the commuter route, food tends not to be standing around for long before being served, so it's very fresh and tasty.
I was wondering when you’d do this review 😂 There’s a Timmies a 10 minute drive from me. I dunno. Part of me wants my only memories to be from Toronto and Montreal 🤔 Thanks so much for this much anticipated vid, Alanna! It was great
Hiya Alanna, I've never tried Tim Horton's in my life, I seen one in Alicante airport (that's the airport for Benidorm in Spain), but my Dad was feeling tight that day so we didn't have one, the Beef Burger and hotdog looked not nice your probably right Alanna it was probably been there for 2 hours or more, but I'm glad you liked the Timbits, this is Choppy in Whitehaven, Cumberland, England
I saw a Tim Hortons in Dublin when I was there for vacation but didn't go in. I wanted the local flavour but I can see as a Canadian missing home going there.
They’ve just opened one of these in Margate, we’re not really a bagels country unfortunately, glad you enjoyed it though 👍 After watching this I think I’ll give it a miss though lol
Fellow Canadian... I visited Belfast a few years ago. They have a Tim Horton's as well. I just had a double double coffee and an apple fritter. They were exactly right!
I love this video 😊. One of my things to do when I visit Canada is to try a Tim Hortons, it was only a few months ago I found out we had some in the U.K. 😮 And as luck would have it, one has just opened up not to far away from me. I now know what to try and what not to order, I think the hot food is off the menu 😂
There’s a Tim Hortons right by my gym. So I always want to try it when I see it, but I also only ever see it right after I’ve done a work out so not the best time. Must spontaneously visit one day I don’t go to the gym.
I went to Tim Hortons a few months back for breakfast after a stag do. The breakfast wrap was on par with the McDonald's when they used to do them, but the coffee is easily the best fast food coffee
Yay, that was brilliant. And FINALLY right!! Shame about the below par hot food. But you looked full of joy with the rest, especially as it had the authentic Canadian taste. Awesome and glad you enjoyed it... At last ! 😋👍👌
A few years ago I worked in Canada close to Calgary, we practically lived on Tim Hortons! It's not great (as you said), but it always had a great atmosphere and wasn't that expensive. Didn't know about the hot food thing though, that burger looked pretty bad to be honest! Good fun video! Take care.
Ive read Tim Horton's are branching out big time on articles online, I think theres one coming to Westwood near Margate. I spotted one when I was up at Lakeside but didnt have time to stop, but I hear the coffee is excellent!
Ahh, Tim Horten’s is a fast food restaurant, never heard of it. Thought it was a brand. Been a while since I lived in the Uk. That cheeseburger just looked like a heart attack in a bun.
yah, great to know that I can get timmys next time Im in the UK, i live in Ontario. i do recall entering with much hope, a tim hortons on Regent Street, near Piccadilly Circus when I was there in 2011. to my utter disappointment, they just had coffee, no fancy donuts, no ice capp, sigh, just coffee which I do not drink. here in canada the only hot food i ever get is their breakfast sandwich, other than that, it's just ice capps and either a boston cream donut or an apple fritter.
I don’t like the Tim Hortons hot food much either but I get it quite a lot lol, using the kitchen in my flat makes me too anxious and Tim Hortons has screens you can order at rather than having to order off someone lol, so it’s a good place I can get food lol, I like the drinks and donuts tho! Thanks for your video, hope you’re having a nice day!
You could also try the Canadian pub in London's Covent Garden, I think it's called the Maple Leaf. Try asking them for a free lunch in return for YT publicity.
Ngl, those doughnuts look good. I get the nostalgia aspect of it. S’why I still crave Mcdonalds from time to time. PS: Iove how giddy u are while eating Tim Horton’s. 😊
It looks like there are a few Dunkin Donuts in the UK, but they don't have any of the savoury options. What a bummer. We have a Timmy's by us and my daughter LOVES it for breakfast. Ours has a breakfast bagel, yum.
Good to know that the classics are en pointe, interesting to know that TH isn't regarded as very good - but with all fast food retailing, as you say, it's more about the reliability of the experience and the value for money. Outside of the cities and motorways, they seem to be located in some odd locations in the UK ...so maybe Canucks live in odd locations, here - a topic for a video ? 🤔 I don't really understand how hot dogs can be so different ? Aren't they all just like Frankfurters (which I love) ?

Thanks Alanna! I will have to try the hot food in a real Timmies in your homeland 😊
The one in Aintree STILL hasn't opened, must be waiting for The Grand national Race day ?
Needs Marmite!
The manager's hair would have turned white if they'd known a Canadian was going to try out the food and drink like this! 😂
Can there be anything happier than a Canadian drinking Tim's coffee and Timbits,
🙏🏻
Tim’s coffee is probably the worst coffee I’ve ever drank 🤢
Yes I'm Canadian and I'm happier not having Tim Hortons terrible coffee and food in Canada.
@@S4undo have you tried Starbucks?

That Lidl behind you sells real German frankfurters and brioche hot dog rolls that together make an excellent hotdog.
Thanks Alanna..Great to watch.. Memories of home..👍
Thanks for alerting me to this! Never even knew they were in the UK. And a quick search shows that the nearest one to my hometown is in Plymouth.
I don't understand why they don't have soups, sandwiches and bagels like in Canada. That would hit so good on a cold winter's day.
Because they are all factory-made and really bad. I'm guessing that the UK has many better options out there for those products.
@@njam101 Not really. You can find sandwiches but they are all processed as well. The UK has 0 soup game.
The food at UK Timmies is god awful .
Tim Hortons in the airport at St. John in Nova Scotia has hot dogs and burgers and of course Poutine.

Custard doughnuts - yum!😋

A French-Canadian thing I love is hotdogs covered in coleslaw. For desert? Pouding Chaumeur.
Yea glad you put Gravesend on the map! We went on the second of opening and it was packed, donuts are really good. Great vid☺☺

Coffee (dark roast) okay
Doughnut very sweet and messy

Haven't tried a British Tim Horton's yet. Last time I went to one was in Burlington, ON
Wild that there's way more Timmies up north than down south
We live about 5 minutes drive from a Tim Horton's.
It's pretty good. Breakfast and the double burgers are well worth the money

They've got one opening up in my town so I'll probably give their things a try (the non hot foods...)
So basically skip the savoury items and go straight to the sweet, for a genuine Canadian Tom Hortons experience!
Got it. 👍🏻
Chicken stack with bacon burger; waffle fries with chipotle dip and a latte. Is very nice but a tad expensive these days. :)
That must have cost a fortune! Thanks for posting, made me laugh 😅
I always thought you were not a fan of Timmies Alanna... But hope you enjoyed... It is a nuce reminder of home... Occasionally.
Your hat was epic Alanna :-)...unlike the hot food lol
