Another great video. ? I’ve looked all over for videos of how to flash the flight controller. And I have found none. I just built my first drone and I’m using the speedybee f405 v3 on a 7 inch drone. My receiver is a coolrc flysky fs-x6b and my transmitter is a flysky fs i6x. Please help I don’t know where to find the info that it’s asking for

I’ve seen a Ted Talk where they demonstrated different drones all the way down to one prop. The answer to can a drone fly with one missing prop is very different from the answer to can my drone fly with one missing prop. To fly with just two props, the drone would need to be weighted so it wouldn’t want to flip over. That would be less than ideal for normal operation. The parachutes they make for drones look like a better option and I can see that technology still improving. The one prop drone in the Ted Talk looked like a boomerang of instant death although it did manage to a successfully sustained flight. I have experience a desync. Before. That’s just one prop stopping and the result of that sounded like the sound effect for a space ship crashing. It’s not going to spin a little assuming it descends without flipping. It’s going to spin quite fast.

  • @BlueDroneBlues
    @BlueDroneBlues 7 місяців тому

I wanted to see if you used 3 props would it force it harder away from the missing prop? That could be fun bouncing the 3 props around.

3 Props: Some time ago, Mark Müller a doctoral student at ETH Zurich had an algorithm that could deal with a single prop failure on a quad-copter. The quad would spin, so vomitron for FPV pilots, but was otherwise flyable.
Speculation and shit gazing: Intuitively, for arresting a crash, two props should be okay if the drone can detect it only has two. The key would be reading the gyro-data to determine orientation and only spinning the props to arrest the fall. If drone has altitude sensors (and they're not confused by the tumble) it might be best if quad disarms at 2.1m (~7ft). Also for safety reasons, a straight down arrest is going to be easier for people on the ground to dodge. Maybe about 20m the drone is allowed to spiral arrest, under that it can only straight down arrest. What that would look like is above 20m, the motors spin whenever the drone is in an orientation that provides some upwards thrust.
A drone like the Phantoms could have an advantage if it's carrying a heavier camera because a centre of gravity lower than the thrust plane (level of the props) might encourage the drone to fall upright and provide some resistance to falling over. The V-coptor bicoptors I've seen work something like this. Maybe even moving the camera gimbal, despite the tiny relative mass) might help.
The fun might begin with 3d motors and props. They could technically provide an arresting thrust at more orientations, though in a rapid tumble I could see why it might be better to pulse the motors in the upwards direction only because of spin up/down rates on the motors.

Just watching the benchmarks on the PC. For $1000 anyone who knows anything about PC could build something quite a bit more powerful with a dedicated GPU for less. Even a AMD 8000 with integrated graphics would walk all over it. Definitely like the super small form factor though!!

    Nub came off my
    Walkera X 350
    Prop came off in flight
It fell from sky about 40 feet hit grass upside down, had propguards and luckily
    Suffered NO damage.
    Never did find the Nub
    and ordered 4 more
    To get back to flying.
    Making sure each time
    Nub holding prop on
    Were tight. But yea
    Quads aren’t designed
To fly with less than 4.
Those two motor VTOL Are and really cool.

My Zero Zero Robotics V-Coptr Falcon drone uses just 2 props 😀. To maintain controllability it has articulating motor mounts. Without this additional thrust vectoring control your Phantom would only become more dangerous in its randomized descent!

Hi Ken, my comment is directed at that little over priced & underpowered PC that is promoted here at the end of your video. You can easily find more performance packed small computers for half that price (and even less).
Btw, I may not be a drone expert, but I’ve been building, testing, and analyzing PC performance since 1987 along with all types of high end computational & graphics packages software, so when I say that little PC here is Crapola, you can take that to the bank.
Other then that, I did enjoy your two prop test.

@@KenHeron Hello again, I went to the PC affiliate link just to look it over again, and then I went to Intel’s website to look over the specs on the processor used in that little PC. It turns out that the only thing “AI” about it is the processor “speed” will increase slightly based on work load, which is no different than the automated workload “turbo speed” that’s been around for more than 20 years, just appears to be a new marketing catch phrase used now😆. Also, on the affiliate’s website the various info graphics show in one photo, a “7nm Precess”, clearly that didn’t proof read or they don’t know what they are talking about. A “7 nano meter - process” would refer to the thickness of the tiny wiring within the CPU.
Then in the same photo, they show “45W” printed on top of the CPU, yet no where on Intel’s specs page do they mention “45 watts. What Intel does mention is the following:
      Processor Base Power
      28 W
      Maximum Turbo Power
      115 W
      Minimum Assured Power
      20 W
      Maximum Assured Power
      65 W
Another thing on that same affiliate’s graphic they highlight the process has “22 Threads”, which is decent but not necessarily and indication of CPU performance. It does have “16 Cores”, but only 6 of them are performance cores, and no graphs cores (unlike Apple computers). And the integrated GPU is “Intel® Arc™ graphics”, nothing special, and certainly nothing for real gamers 😂. And there ads states the CPU clock speed up to 5600 MHz (which is 5.6GHz), yet Intel list the Turbo Boost Max CPU frequency at 4.8GHz.
One last thing I’d like to mention from personal experience with micro sized computers, is that they can get much hotter inside the case (if it’s a high performance PC (like this one alludes to be) because of a small enclosed case and the lack of adequate cooling (which a larger full sized PC would have). And with a 7nm process, heat will effect performance, and the single tiny fan will be spinning at max RPMs quite a lot trying to keep it cool.
Just in case anyone was curious about the cost of that Intel CPU, it is listed at $503 retail. Good “Crucial” brand 32GB RAM (2x16GB) is priced at $95 on Amazon, 512GB Nvme 2.0 (drive storage) is priced at $40 on Amazon. So you are paying over $360 for the tiny case, small power supply, and a few other low cost parts. The truth is, if you want a decent computer for video editing, music composing, or real gaming, this micro PC is not going to cut it. 🧐
