That’s awesome!! I’m super stoked to hear you got the trick and that my tips helped 😃 honestly, until I figured out all these details, I was thinking the same thing. Maybe I was just too short for this trick. But I’m glad we both stuck with it💪💪
Me too. It's supposed to be an easy trick but I'm still only landing it maybe 50% of the time after months. I just watched this and can't wait to try it early tomorrow morning. Did you find this tutorial to help you after all?
@@Hendrixski yes it helped but to be totally honest I got sidetracked by other tricks and never mastered it. I'm going to focus on it again once I'm able to skate (recovering from something unrelated).
Your tutorials are always perfect and exactly what my over-analytical, science brain needs to break things down, safely and while building confidence. Thank you so much for this!
Was going to learn no complies 180 and your’s the best tutorial I found. Very well explained and good practicing tips, esp. the one by jumping on the board switch surely will help a lot.
I just learned it today! I was so hard because I had the wrong steps, I would emphasize 2 things from your vid to really focus on to actually get it, OPEN UP SHOULDERS , and BE GENTLE POPPING! That's it ! Everything else falls naturally !
This is the best no comply tutorial I've ever seen! It addresses all the main problems (too much pop, board flipping, leaning back) and most importantly starts with training the outcome - the landing and riding out, which if you go linear start to end, doesn't get any practice until you can actually do the trick! The body position for the landing helps make the trick happen, and the nose grab looks like a great way to practice consistently keeping the board in the right zone under you (not flipping wildly away)! Thank you! I am at the stage of all the problems- this trick never made sense! Going to try these tips next skate.
You don't just show how it's done correctly but also show exacyly what I'm doing wrong. And your voice is so calm and soothing, also you're pretty to look at. Best tutorial on this trick I've seen so far.
Holy crap! When you said, "it's more like a HOP off the board then stepping/sliding off" it all clicked! I've got all the moved down as far as popping, flipping, and stepping off but not all together. I noticed when stepping off there would be too much weight and pressure in the back so while I'm "stepping" off the tail of the board would already be pinned to the ground by my food. No time to flip the board. You have the best tutorials Actually. You get those micro steps that will unlock the move. Thank you!
Right? That was the one major point that unlocked it for me. I think as skaters get better, we can be more nuanced in that motion (more hop or more "slide" off the side). But, in the beginning when you're learning to control that balance, the hop off is so much easier in my opinion. Really helps you get good clearance too! So, stoked to hear that helped things click for you! 💪 Keep having fun!
I'm a 45 year old skater who didn't know how to do a no comply 'till last week. This video helped me a lot. Thanks so much and congrats on the awesome job!
Thank you so much! I’ve been so confused because whenever I took my foot off, the board would immediately pop up. The step about turning your shoulders helped me fix that !!

Hey Sarah - I have been struggling to commit a no-comply 180. Your video gave me the missing links to get it done. The first one was guiding the board with the foot - I constantly flipped it out of control, but didn't realize myself how I did it, when it occasionally worked. So that tip was brilliant. The second great advice was to practice the end of the trick by just jumping back on switch - this helped me commit and to get the "outward" foot positioning on the ground right in order to initiate / help the 180° turn of the body. And thirdly, the nose-grab thing - fantastic - I landed that on first attempt. One would think that the nose grab would be considered a step-up, but in actual fact it lets you guide the whole thing. So all in all, you ticked all my boxes on this one, and I am grateful for your advice. Lastly, I really like your way of presentation and honesty. Keep up the good work, I shall stick around :-)

Nice video! I already learned no-comply 180s frontside and backside, as well as no-comply 360s frontside and backside, and many other no-complies, but I just recently started having these troubles with only the no-comply 180 front side, and this totally solved it!!!!

I've actually started to toy with the idea of getting a regular skateboard so I can apply your teachings directly. And thanks for the goofy section in the end, that is very considerate for us, the other half LOL. I hope you're enjoying your summer!
ah thank you! Stoked you think so. Wish it translated to longboarding better though. If you're toying with that idea, you might like to look at freestyle 😃 freestyle skateboarding and longboarding have quite a lot of overlap in feeling / dancing / vibes. Nice video! I already learned no-comply 180s frontside and backside, as well as no-comply 360s frontside and backside, and many other no-complies, but I just recently started having these troubles with only the no-comply 180 front side, and this totally solved it!!!!
No kidding. Weird how tricks can be on lock and then just disappear, right? stoked to hear my video helped you out! Keep pushing dude!!🛹🛹
I've been trying to get this trick for a long time, I think this video will help me a lot. Thanks!
ah, I hope so! Have fun with it :D
Your no comply 180 video here helped me more than any other video I found. Thanks!
That's awesome! Stoked to hear it :D
Landed my first no comply because of this video, thanks!
This video analyzes the mechanics of the trick so impeccably well. Too many awesome parts, thanks!
Thank you 😃😃 that means a lot! I’m glad you like the analysis
This is so helpful! In the Braille tutorial he says “make the board do a 180 with your foot.” Like, how? You actually give us the details needed to figure this out
Thanks Jason! Glad you liked the tutorial so much. Always try to give as much detail as I can 😃
not sure if im watching ur videos cause your way of talking is calming n chill or for the great breakdowns guess its both.Jjust started skating (almost 3 months) and you make things look possible and easy. Great job
Thank you! I'm glad to hear that 😃Skate tricks are definitely hard, but also possible. Just gotta keep pushing💪
@@SarahParkMatott Ill try and learn no complys today :D
This is by far the best video for a novice skater to learn this trick. Thank you!
Thank you!🙏
Wow your a great teacher. This was super helpful. Your amazing.
Thank you so much! 🙏😃
As + 40 yo, restarting to skate thanks to my 10 yo old son, this was a great tutorial. Really good step by step guide, with lots of attention for the pitfalls. Thanks for the upload and have lots of fun skateboarding! I'm sure I'll no comply in a few days :-)
ah thank you! Welcome back skating 😃 Hope you can enjoy it with your son too. That's awesome 🙌
No one gonna mention how she's able to do it both regular and goofy? That's actually very difficult, thanks so much for this tutorial, about to try it out🙏🏽rock on ❤️
ah, that was some editing magic! Although, I do work on it in both stances now 😃 The non-dominant stance is definitely a huge challenge! Hope the tutorial was helpful! :D
so cool, I wanna learn this too.
gonna start next weekend.
amazing breakdown.
Awesome video Sarah, the way you break down the steps you went through is really useful. Looking forward to more videos like this.
Thank you Kieran! Glad you liked the video and my approach. 😄
She's brilliant isn't she!!!
@@lauragreene1361 Absolutely
You always offer a different perspective & I always learn new things from your videos!
Seriously glad to hear that 😃💪
You and Ben Degros are my favorite teachers. Keep up the great work! 🤙🏾
Thank you! Stoked to hear that. Ben is awesome 💪
This is outstanding, your explanation and use of visuals are so helpful, and your attention to detail is amazing. This is exactly what I needed, thank you very much for this, I'll definitely be binge watching all of your videos!!!
Ahh thank you! So glad to hear that 😃🙌
You broke down the steps so great and your 5 steps are really good a lot better than other pro skaters channels really excellent job
Thank you so much! 🙏 I hope they help 💪
The part "your own training method" is so clear, step by step. Tnks so much!
Thank you! 😃 Glad it was helpful!
Thanks so much Sarah, you have an excellent way of breaking things down and also talking about the little tweaks and details that make all the difference. Much appreciated, since almost all other skate tutorial channels i've come across don't do as good of a job explaining. Really looking forward to learning more tricks with your help, thanks again :)
I must say this is really well done. You are a good teacher.
Wow, thank you so much! 😃
Thanks so much for this vid, the leaning forward tip helped me a LOT! Now I can do the NC much more consistently, never feel that the board ends up too much ahead of me ! :))
Wow. best vid I've seen on this I'm going skating right now and trying! Thank you
ah, hope you have fun 🙌
Love it ❤this is actual first explanation I’ve ever watched for this trick and seems pretty good. If it wasn’t raining I’d be out on my new board right now 😅
This is really useful, thankyou. No comply has been doing my head in - will try this!
Thank you!🙏I hope it helps💪
That half rotation-grab-no-comply-180 would be a nice trick itself haha. Nice tutorial, I will try it after work today
Best no comply 180 tutorial to exist. I would know because I've watched way too many haha
😂haha always a joy to go down the trick rabbit hole. But thank you so much! 😃 Stoked to hear that
Again a super clear tutorial! You always inspire me so much but then I find it hard to apply some things to my longboard.
I actually found freestyle because I was looking into longboarding first 😃 So, really that worked out for me since I became obsessed with skating haha (my edit - hope you're enjoying your summer too!)
Thank you so much. I did it successfully after watching your tutorial.
woo! Stoked to hear that! 🙌
Thanks for helping a 43 year old in Ireland to unlock no comply 180s👍
💪Happy to help
really very useful. i have tried many times today. not success yet. need motivate. thank you
