| Russia defeated Argentina 3-1 (25-19, 25-23, 21-25, 25-19) in the first match at the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Nations League on Wednesday. Egor Kliuka led the scoring for the Russians with 15 points.
This is what the players said:
Nicolas Uriarte (ARG): It's never nice to lose. We played a little bit better in the third set, we could show our game. But after that we were not able to keep this level. When you have some downs against teams like Russia the things go difficult. They served strong and that made a difference.
Igor Kobzar (RUS): Argentina ire an uncomfortable opponent for us, they play a lot in defence. They save many balls and don't make many mistakes. We were prepared for that. In the first two sets we solved our problems with service, but in the third set we made too many mistakes, which is why we lost it. But then we were able to get back on track.

Great match although I expected more from Argentina. Pereyra seems to be the only one getting kills. Conte was almost invisible!!! Not nearly the same intensity from Argentina as in previous matches. 🐂
Pereyra is a surprise, a good one. In previous years in the selection he was pretty done. And Conte is absolutelly done. I dont even know why they keep calling him.
