probably will be too late for an old codger like me, but it sure is heartening to see research 'progression' for progressive MS these last few years. thanks for the update Dr Kaisey!
ata 188 has been cancelled..does not work. EBV is a trigger for ms but once you have ms it is too late to treat EBV. hsct is still best proven therapy for ms.
Thanks Dr. Kaisey for sharing this heartening news! I have a question, how long do they need to get the FDA approval and start producing it to the market?
They first have to do the phase 2/3 trial(s), which take a few years. The FDA process also takes a couple of years I think (unless there's a global pandemic and you have a vaccine, in which case you get to cut to the front of the bureaucracy line!)
@@DrMarwaKaisey I don't know if this should give hope for those who almost lost it or should it be a condelence for those who are coming next. Then we have to wait another few years to get it produced and to be available for the public under some fantasy price!
Very interesting…..I had it three years in a row; age 12-9 months ill, 13-3 months sick and at 14 for two weeks. I was never the same and have limped through life. Can’t wait to hear more.
Agree ATA188 is very exciting ... Hope this goes to the greater MS community other subtypes ... Hopefully they also collected blood samples at various time points to link with biomarkers
@@DrMarwaKaisey So does the virus spill out of the B cell once the B cell is killed and is therefore free to roam looking for something else to infect in the body?

Thank you Dr. Kaisey! I appreciate you sharing new and exciting research into this area. Looking forward to phase two results.

Excellent!! Thank you for sharing this!
Thank you, Dr. Kaisey! Question: did they test study participants for EBV exposure as part of inclusion criteria?
Thank u so much for the info - fingers crossed

How is this different from Kesimpta? That’s what I’ve been on, I just started the second loading dose this weekend just dx a few months ago with rrms
I have MS and tested negative for EBV. I’m not alone from what I hear from other people.
is not gonna be showing in ur test same as lyme
Thank you for this information. I have also heard that Ocrevus also kills B cells and therefore would also kill EBV. Is this true?
Ocrevus ONLY kills B cells, that's its job. EBV is a virus, not an immune cell, so it wouldn't kill the virus directly

Probably a good morning for parents with kids in band
Caught Mano several times in high school band because we shared mouthpieces and we're kissing each other all the time
