In my experience, I tend to enjoy playing with console players more. But more importantly, console players seem to have the best fashion in this game, and we all know that the real endgame of For Honor is fashion. Any advantage PC plebs may have is lost because my incredible outfits cause a small delay in their reactions while they process all the drip I'm thrusting on to their monitor. I think it depends on the region as well, since I play OCE- it feels like every fifth match is a competition of who can be the most insufferable for no reason at all. not just with For Honor, I get the feeling some OCE players are just naturally pricks lol.

When people are indeed toxic the effective response is either ignoring it or offering kindness instead. For someone to spew poison in an online space they probably have something going on irl far worse than whatever just happened in that For Honor match.
Yeah personally, whenever they start spamming "Thanks!" Or "Wow!" In chat, I just say "Good fight!" And move on. Ignore their emote spam and play the game normally.
That's part of why it's considered toxic. It's basically like saying the fight was so easy, that you're just walking away casually, like a show-off. Although, it's definitely been replaced by emote spamming and quick-chat spamming, in terms of how often people use it in a toxic way.
I mean Console Players can only spam Quickchat, otherwise they would type a lot of shit too :D. I think For honor has just a very toxic Community and the Gameplay supports it...

As a new player anyone have any tips for countering light spamming? Should i just go to training mode with my character with a bot who only lights until i can react?
Honestly, best course of action is to play more. but certain characters have full guards, heros like conq, BP, Valk, Warlord, and aramusha can help. Or characters with a lot of hyper armor like Raider, Berzerker, or Medjay are good options as well. If you want a character with both of those options, Warlord is a good choice. If you already have a character that you enjoy that isnt one of these though, I suggest maybe dodging the lights, and keep playing. Eventually you will see the lights from miles away.
Just practice blocking them rather than parrying them. most characters lights will just bounce off your guard, and then if they're REALLY commiting to the lightspam it's way easier to try and predict and parry their next light, or if you aren't comfortable with that yet use dodge attacks or try and lightspam them back because chances are they can't parry either.
Is it just me or did that Warlord's emblem look kinda Nazi-ish? I mean the black symbol inside a white circle on a red flag is a bit much for coincidence. The symbol itself is also an Orthodox cross, and eastern Europe has plenty of right wing extremists nowadays. Wouldn't call that guy a gentleman either way
