I love quilts, too!!!!😍 My Dad had a quilt he won at a fair and it was in pretty bad shape, since it was probably over 70 years old. I took it and made pillows for my girls, my sister-in-law and my nieces.
I have a quilt that my grandma made almost 70 years ago. It's such a precious treasure! Yours are lovely, you found some great things in this haul! Enjoy them! ❤
Something you should make with some of your fabric is book sleeves. If you aren't an avid reader and don't know what those are look it up! They are a wonderful bookish accessory!
Oh Maranda! You hit the jackpot with these finds…the old fabrics are lovely! I wish they made those patterns again. I pray you have a booth spot open soon. ❤
Lovely to see a young women so passionate about vintage, good luck with setting up your market stall and selling some of your vintage finds in the future 😊
Would you ever have old quilts for sale? I would love to have one. You found some really beautiful things. That stack of quilting fabrics was amazing!!

I loved the quilts especially the last one you showed us and the price. I think you will do well with your booth when you get it. Checked Poshmark and you've sold a lot. I have to get PayPal so I can buy things. I love that you're making a pillow with that pretty unfinished piece and all the material too. Have fun!
My great aunt who had a quilting business back in her day told me the best way to wash quilts is to fill the washing machine with water and your choice of soap. Hand plunge the quilt and soak it if need be. Then spin cycle it. The agitation of the wash cycle is hard on the stitching. Then hang dry.
@@marandachristine- yes, I soak mine in the bathtub with 1c. Biz & 1c. Oxyclean mix. With this combo and many times soaking up to 24hrs. I have removed yellowing & years of smoke smell.
@@marandachristine You are very welcome! I used to work for an estate sale company and sometimes the quilts looked so ragged, yellow & stained that they just wouldn't sell, so I would buy them to "work my magic". One house had one that was so bad I had to let it soak for 3 days (changing the water daily, adding another round of mix) The water would look like mud, then on day 3 finally the water was only slightly mirkey, then I washed using the gentle cycle of washing machine & it turned out so white and smelled fresh. It was from the 1930's & survived me washing it very well. No damage at all & I use it now. 💖
@@angelagoins9384 oh my goodness I absolutely love that!! ♥️ so happy to find other people who love saving old quilts too! The first quilt I showed came out of a barn and was covered in dirt and dust but it was so perfect I just had to try to save it! The water looked like you described, SO muddy but after soaking it twice for several hours and then doing one gentle cycle in the washing machine and air drying it, it came out so clean, I was amazed! It has me motivated to save all the old quilts I find! Lol ♥️ We know a couple who do estate sales and clean out storage units and it’s crazy how many old quilts they rescue, I love seeing them get a new life 💕 Thank you for sharing that story and so so happy you are still enjoying the quilt you saved 🥹
I have sewing machine drawers and they weren't cheap! I have my recipe cards on one and my small old bottles like yours, that I use for vases and i store them in the other drawer.
I soak them in laundry detergent in the bathtub for 2 hours and then ring them out and dry them outside! If they are super dirty I will soak them twice before drying 😊 the quilts that do not have any tears in the tread I wash on gentle cycle and then air dry!
Please be careful oiling wood with coconut oil, it can go rancid and make your wood pieces smell awful. Instead use food grade mineral oil or food grade beeswax.
Enjoyed your finds. Happy that your husband has your back. Bless him.
Your husband is awesome, what a great find in that quilt!
Those quilts though!!! 😍 and all that fabric!!! ♥️ such wonderful finds!!

💗💗💓
I just looked at your Poshmark Closet. As a reseller myself I might suggest that you raise your prices a bit maybe by at least two dollars.
Make some rag dolls.
Those milk glass tea cups are so pretty. I can see why they sold.
Those sold a few years back! I’ve never seen any like them since, they are so pretty! ♥️
You can put folded cloth napkins in the sewing machine drawer
I love that idea! Thank you ♥️♥️

Why don't you collect blue willow just wondering you have great taste

Can you laundry the quilts before using them?
I soak them in laundry detergent in the bathtub for 2 hours and then ring them out and dry them outside! If they are super dirty I will soak them twice before drying 😊 the quilts that do not have any tears in the tread I wash on gentle cycle and then air dry!
Not a cutting board. Its to take pizza from the oven.
Yes! I put in parentheses on the screen (pizza paddle!) because I realized that while editing 🥰
Please be careful oiling wood with coconut oil, it can go rancid and make your wood pieces smell awful. Instead use food grade mineral oil or food grade beeswax.
That’s not a cutting board , it’s a pizza board
