For those who do not know, Mastfam has been playing since before rollback, and has been grinding Tager in exhibitions/tourneys for the past two years. He’s probably THE Tager right now. I think once he got to GF and saw the tilt, he saw his chance and he took it. I said Tager is bottom and top 1 and this confirms it.

It was an great experience there, I did want people to be entertained so I did some funny interactions and gimmicks too keep things fresh. And seeing the circus of Online tournament in an Offline tournament.
The reason why the Hakumen player air purple throw so much during the early round was probably taking advantage of player knowledge. In one of the previous fight, the Tager player didn't tech a single air purple throw (but somehow still manage to win), so he probably got the idea from there
Jubei one-trick here. Jubei vs. Tager is the only 10:10 matchup I've ever seen. The matches are just a series of multiple choice questions that are super scary for the both of us. Tager guessed wrong? Have fun eating the ball oki. A lot of Tager's defense relies on predicting what his opponent is going to do. This flies out the window against a Jubei that utilizes all of his mix tools equally including but not limited to: -A special cancellable standing overhead -An instant overhead -A 3rd overhead for good measure -A grounded crossup -A midair crossup -A 2B that is +2 and carries dash momentum -A backdash that can punish reversals -A special that is completely unblockable if charged for 30 frames because why not? Jubei guessed wrong? Have fun eating a crouching combo. Jubei has a very average health pool, but this is balanced out by always being crouching (for the sake of combos). He just has less effective health than the other characters with 11k. Once Jubei gets magnetized, all of his amazing grounded and air movement options go out the window. He also cannot reliably avoid getting reversal grabbed after getting magnetized. Even in neutral, the Tager can control the pace of the match with magnetism. Jubei also has zero reversals outside of dead-angle and OD. His mid and low counters are only active for 4 and 3 frames respectively causing them to be unreliable at best. The matchup is just so polarizing because we have two characters that have such massive advantages over the other.

I play bbcf almost exclusively with 1 other person and one day I just randomly picked up tager and holy shit, he's really the most fun fighting game character I've played period. Full of dumb gimmicks, flashy combos and probably the most unique take on a grappler, I learn new combo routes in almost every video i see with him in it plus I even get the low tier pass IT' S SO GOOD.
What's the Tager vs Hakumen matchup like? Horrible. Miserable. If played straight, Tager can literally do nothing against Hakumen, as all of his options lose evenly to Hakumen's 4C and he can't use his Sledge Hammer guard point because it takes too long to become active. Haku 4C doesn't do chip damage, though, so he has to do something else to actually progress the fight. Once Tager gets Magnetism on Hakumen, though, the fight shifts in the other direction and Haku has to play on the defensive because the previous auto-win options now become easily beaten by invul frames taking advantage of the pull. Resources basically determine this one specific matchup harder than any other fight in the game. 3:14 He can, yes. You can RC into 360B 360B for the kill, but it's a frame-perfect buffer. Nerves can really ruin things like that. 6:43 Yeah, it's an unblockable hit-grab like Atomic Collider.

Maaaaaaan Hakumen is my favorite Blazblue character so I'm hyped to see him in grand finals! But against Tager... he cannot strut his stuff against Tager.
Hakumen don't really got any really long pokes with foot property besides the punishable sweep. I play Kagura who also has sword normals and every time I see a tager charge it's 2C or 2D B. No sparkbolts on my watch.

Coming from a dogshit Hakumen player after closing space with Hakumen he needs to find out what the Tager player does after the block to try and mix/counter or play the lamest game cross screen 5c and supplement the dmg with resource combo chip until time or that's how I win but its always terrifying.
Jiyuna have you seen the arcade clip I don’t know if it’s edited and from a different actually game. But a tager player in a Japanese arcade did the timer scam multiple times with tager to another play after the match he threw a stool that he was sitting on over the cab at another player. Been hunting for the clip for ages but it’s lost.
I don't care how bad he is any grappler that can constantly drag you into throw range is fucked up and terrifying. The terror inflicted by needing to hold back constantly just to not be pulled into a grab is lethal
