Your paddling technique is a thing to behold. I’ve watched your videos so many times trying to replicate

      Hey @ncopeman,
Thanks so much for kind words and thank you for visiting.
My paddling technique is really far from good at this point. There is a ton of things I do wrong and need to correct/train up.
In my channel recommendations I put Ultimate Kayaks - Ivan Lawler's 6 lessons are my main source of paddling education. I keep going back to those all the time. Have a look there too, please 😉

Po ujęciach widać że Rush ma lepsze prowadzenie niż Swing. Tylko cena pierwszego odstrasza 😕.
Warto doinwestować, czy jednak na pierwszy ogień Swing?

      Hej Robert,
Edit - A jeśli nie chcesz wydawać tak dużo, a nadal mieć Gumotexa i dobre prowadzenie to pomyśl nad Framurą 😁

To ja dziękuję. Mam wrażenie, że mi podsunąłeś pomysł na filmik na później w sezonie 😉

This made me seasick, maybe turn the stabilisation in the camera on, mount the camera another place, or stabilize the video in post? Just trying to help, but it’s boppin’ all over the place.

Hi Sommer. I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy it. I use my camera with a forehead mount. All sorts of stabilization are on. I chose a forehead mount as I paddle with torso rotation - the effect would be even worse here, much more prominent. Also, by placing the camera on a kayak this short, the image would yaw along with it. Additionally, the camera would get splashed almost all the time here. I know what you mean and I'm searching for a better solution.
Definitely, when I paddle the x500 Strenfit, this effect almost doesn't exist.

@@LetsGoPaddling I know it ain’t easy, i’ve done some vids myself that was much worse trust me:) But i don’t see this movement in many other kayak videos, (shot from the same angle) so maybe they stabilize it more in post, i don’t know. Depends on the camera too, an old gopro got bad stabilisation while the newest is close to perfect. Maybe find a kayak video that is deadstraight and ask how they do it?

The channel “more than just a cleaner” for example, he’s always happy to answer any questions and his videos are pretty steady looking, so try and ask him. And yes the kayak itself makes a difference too ofcourse, but he’s paddling around in a lot of weird things and never has that “bopping” effect, as far as i remember anyway.

To explain my situation better, I'd kindly ask you to have a look at my technique update from autumn 2022. In that video, the camera is fixed at the bow and at the stern later. You will also see how aggressive my paddling is compared to Karl's.
I'll be experimenting with some tripods this year, maybe that helps (but then it takes away the point of view angle, which was in fact the main idea for this channel). Let's see how it all goes. 😉

@@LetsGoPaddling Yes you are definitely going faster than karl, that’s for sure:) That might just be it, but a steady shot would still be nice. Maybe a 360 cam, i’ve seen you can stabilise those perfectly when shooting in a normal field of view, by choosing a point in the horizon that the camera is fixed on afterwards, although it does crop the image quite a bit. Anyway i’m sure you’ll figure it out, but i do see the difference between you and the more recreational paddlers.
