A part of me finds it so funny that Bismuth and Pearl used to be the biggest lesbian stereotypes. Pearl was the "in love with the straight best friend" lesbian, and Bismuth was the "does she like me like a friend or something more?" And now they are one of my favorite ships.
@@Pinkywinkykinky Well, yeah I can totally see that from her. But I'm mainly referencing the song "It's Over isn't it?" Because Pearl mentions specifically all the men in Rose's life which gave a very strong "lesbian in love with the straight best friend vibes" even if Rose isn't really straight per say. Going off on a tangent here though: I actually even theorize that Rose is in the AroAce spectrum simply because of the way she seemed to see humans as "interesting" and "fun" so she wanted to experience their lives with them and such, rather than the more romantic portrayals like Garnet and Pearl have. And that might even be why she usually mainly got involved in romantic relationships with humans rather than gems, not necessarily because of a more romantic connection, but rather a different type of connection that she found just as worthwhile, even if there may have been a few species-barrier(?) issues. Edit: The topic of Rose's sexuality is actually pretty interesting to me considering how little we really know about her personally, and how we mostly know of her relationship dynamics based on the perspectives of others rather than actually her's.

pearl and bismuth were always really cuddly with each other when bismuth was first introduced, but it wasn't until this episode when I realized I NEED them together as a ship, they're so fuckin cute bismuth is also the one who caught the bouquet at garnet's wedding ;)

I love that Bismuth points out that Pearl seems happier. And while that may seem obvious with everything thats happened, I think it points to moreso, especially since bismuth has more memories and time spent back when Rose was around, that even when she was around Rose back in the day, she wasn't TRULY happy. There was something there preventing that. And I think its through the journey shes had " after love and loss " (her lines from the movie) that she was finally able to find herself, FOR HERSELF rather than based on another persons dream. She was finally able to open up and truly be herself and not based on others, and now shes finally at peace. It shows that while yes finding love is great and can be full filling, its not the end of the world to lose someone and that you are your own person and can shape your own life.
14:45 If you think about it Steven really doesn't learn the lessons at the end of the episodes: *Little Homeschool & Rose Buds* are great examples, they seem like happy endings but it's very Whiplash coded - either he learns the wrong lesson or hides the core issue
I think the best summation of the series I’ve hear is “Steven Universe is about Steven learning how to be a gem. Steven Universe Future is about Steven learning how to be a human.”

It was used a lot in the original show and what's being used for the music in this scene.

I think CPH is just supposed to be a parody of Steven Universe. Not in concept but the whole thing about them rebooting the show and everyone’s different and people are mad that the characters may not be 100% the same as from the original series
