Filming with your son one day and then filming with your dad soon after. I know you're a super busy guy, but I hope you take a second to take it all in. These videos will be priceless later on down the line. I'm really impressed and inspired by the business you've created and the direction you're headed. Thanks for taking us along for the journey.
Idk why he opted for the sport exhaust which is notoriously raspy and muffled. The Eisenmann RACE on the other hand is just godly on these cars! Hopefully he finds a solution
When I was looking for an axleback exhaust for my Mustang, I knew I wanted a Borla S-Type all along but it was much more expensive than the competitors. Well... after screwing around with two other exhausts... I finally went ahead and got what I originally wanted and I'm kicking myself for not getting what I knew I wanted to get first.
Really cool to see you wrenching with your Dad, makes me think I need to fly my Dad out for some quality project car time. Might I suggest trying out the current exhaust but re-adding the primary cats? It may help you cure the raspiness.
I’ve had this xpipe paired up with many other rear sections. Akrapovic, eisenmann, meisterschaft Gt, even the OEM 4 pipe mod. And from all those I gotta say the Akrapovic was the more quieter one with way less rasp. Now I’m just running the meisterschaft GT with rouge engineering reasonted test pipes and I gotta say I absolutely love the way my car sounds now.
More detail series 👍🏼 I just bought the Festool Dust Extractor CT 26 today, fantastic piece of gear. I know you don't like doing interiors but this thing is like the Kranzle of the vacuums.
Great video as always, One thing to note, be cautious when removing o2 sensor's when they are cold. I always put a little heat on them to make sure they don't strip as you remove them.
If your exhaust ever develops a rattle, more than likely its just the support brace holding up the x-pipe. I experienced it several times as well as others on the forums.
Sounds really high pitched/tinny, I have heard the Eisenmann race exhaust with the same mid pipe and it sounds much deeper and throatier. Maybe give the Race Version a shot.
My M3 E92 with just a primary de-cat sounds slightly raspy above 5.2k but DEFINITELY not THAT bad...it must be the Eismann rear muffler that makes it sound horrible since it looks plastic IMHO
A good friend of mine has the Eisenmann Race exhaust on his E39 M5. The M5 has a naturally deeper tone (because of the 5-liter S62), and the Race still has a much deeper, throatier sound. It doesn't sound unrefined at all, and when paired with the Rogue Engineering resonated X-pipe... man, does it sound awesome.
Business Ca$ual, Eisenmann makes some of the best aftermarket parts in the business, and they've been in the Euro scene for a long time. Have you heard or felt them in person? They're heavy, high quality components that deliver premium sound at a premium price.
I have Afe mid pipe without resonator and Remus Race cat-back. I don't know if you're into obnoxiously loud exhaust notes but it's a great combo in my opinion, without breaking your wallet.
I highly recommend you to check the dual resonated borla x-pipe. 4 resonators is the way to go if you want to go catless and dont want a raspy sound. I have it and I can't be happier
That OEM midpipe is already modified. It looks like someone already had testpipes put in. If you see after the primary cats the tubing is different and they are not mandrel bent. Also you should unplug the 02 sensors not unscrew them before you unclip them it can damage the 02 sensors.
Nice work between you and your dad! The exhaust sounds amazing. It has the right tone and is just loud enough to stand out. I'm sure it's going to get slightly louder after bedding in, as exhausts usually do! Can't wait to see the detailing! Cheers.
I would have personally gone test pipes and axle-back, leaving the secondary cats and resonator in place, the best-sounding setups I've heard have used that configuration. As a fellow M3 owner I have spent hours and hours researching exhausts and I still don't know what to go for - I've narrowed it down to maybe two or three potential systems but I want it to sound right first time.
No blood hands! You're becoming a professional now. I really can't wait to see this car with suspension, brakes, and wheels. I know it isn't going to effect your decision, but I'm really hoping you go with the HREs and yellow calipers. Keep these videos coming Matt! Love the content.
Sounds perfect to me. Might need to let that thing burn in a little bit, almost all exhausts I've put on my car at first that I didn't think were that loud but progressively got louder as the glass packs burned in. Give it a couple of hundred miles
Unfortunately it's not the x pipe, it's the eisenmann sport. Personally had this exhaust setup on my e92 m3 and have seen many other vids w people running that setup and all are raspy/ overly muffled.
Just curious.....why not just have LHT custom-build you an exhaust? It'll fit better than anything you can buy off-the-shelf. And I'd recommend keeping one set of cats just after the header collectors to cut down on the rasp. It's not that terrible though.
Hi Matt! I've been subscribed to your channel for quite some time. Love what you're putting out. I'm an audiophile, like yourself I believe, and it's eerie how similar we are in our exhaust taste selections (including Dundon). On the topic of your E92 exhaust, I just thought I would chime in with a friendly suggestion, for whatever it's worth. I've tried four different setups on my E92, and I can humbly say that the best sounding setup, by and far, is the Corsa exhaust (Part #: 14568) coupled with the Challenge Street X-Pipe. Yes, it's cheaper and, yes, it's not very sightly. But at the risk of my presumptuousness, if our ears are anything alike, I promise you will not be disappointed. I know you have no reason to "just trust me"; but, if you do, you can thank me later. :) Just paint the mufflers black, and get different exhaust tips. And enjoy.
Matt, not sure if there was some sound engineering going on. This does sound better than the Instagram post but I agree with you that it could be better. Love the videos and all the work you do. You’ll get it dialed in soon enough.
Matt, I’m running the same Match Schnell x-pipe, but with a Meisterschaft GT2 rear section. Sound is incredible, but I’m wondering if you have any recommendations for actually pulling the exhaust tips to poke out more from the rear, and also to get the whole muffler to sit just a tad lower. I have a diffuser I’ve been trying to fit onto the rear, and the tips are just too close to the actual bumper and they get in the way of the diffuser having correct Fitment. I want the tips to come out further so that they sit flush with (or a tiny bit further than) the diffuser.
I wonder what the Dinan would sound like with that Xpipe. The Dinan should be quieter and probably not have any rasp, but it might not give you the tone you are looking for. Might be worth a try since you already have the parts.
Looking forward to seeing your final setup, this sounds pretty close to perfect imo, however the rasp is strong with this one. I have the Borla ATAK on mine and frankly it lacks that “exotic” sound this V8 can produce and the drone is absolutely terrible. Have you thought about Supersrint F1? Heard some pretty positive reviews on it. Good luck and hope you land on a good setup, hopefully it’ll point me in the right direction.
Yay. I love people who actually do good things to cars instead of deleting a muffler and putting a 30 dollar intake in it and calling them self a tuner
I think this car sound better due to the added induction noise you don't get with the GT350. They are both great in different ways. The GT350 is a far superior car, but this one just does it for me.
Heck with air tools, get yourself a Milwaukee Fuel electric ratchet and a Porter Cable corded electric impact gun. After purchasing those two I rarely use my air tools anymore.
That's one of the easier exhaust installs I've seen. Even my Mustang is harder than your Bimmer. Just think of when you did the GT350 and all those people all day. The cold start is MEH with that rasp but once outside and warm it sounded quite good.
Filming with your son one day and then filming with your dad soon after. I know you're a super busy guy, but I hope you take a second to take it all in. wrenching with your dad, doesn't get any better than this!
Nah pretty sure 1.6 billion in lotto is better.
Matt's heart sinking at 14:43, then again at 14:47 lol - the moment he decided no way. 15:01 was the final WTF!
HAHAHAHAH spot on.. can't wait to see what he ends up with though.
14:42 not quite the sound I was expecting. Angry duck noise
Aflac Exhaust
Same. I didn't think that's a sound he'd go for. I wonder if he's happy with it.
Idk why he opted for the sport exhaust which is notoriously raspy and muffled. The Eisenmann RACE on the other hand is just godly on these cars! Hopefully he finds a solution
@@speakingtruths4215 I dunno, but you're obviously gay.

That color is sublime !
Was not expecting the exhaust to sound that way. It looks great though.

Nice seeing you and your dad’s working on car projects together!
Yeah not feeling that one Bro. But on to the next one. You will dial it in perfect soon enough I’m sure. Great video with your dad.
I figure 6 more exhausts before your happy ;)
haha, funny because its true
Great video as always, One thing to note, be cautious when removing o2 sensor's when they are cold. I always put a little heat on them to make sure they don't strip as you remove them.
That's smart. I should start doing that.

Video or it didn't happen ;)
all v8 m3 sound like this

Bimmerworld x pipe with Dinan mufflers or an MPE, just make sure to get the V2 MPE.
I would have personally gone test pipes and axle-back, leaving the secondary cats and resonator in place, the best-sounding setups I've heard have used that configuration. Those factory bbs wheels look fantastic. Exhaust sounds great.
Zach Hampton Those aren’t BBS wheels. They’re 359m’s.
You could bend the brackets forward or backward so that the clamps won't space the pipes out of place...AND keep the securing points.
I'm surprised Matt didn't go with the Akrapovic Evo system
Beautifully made system and expensive but not a very aggressive exhaust note.
This is great for a tunnel downshift with rev-match, subsequent acceleration, and full a throttle fly-by.
No blood hands! You're becoming a professional now. I really can't wait to see this car with suspension, brakes, and wheels. I know it isn't going to effect your decision, but I'm really hoping you go with the HREs and yellow calipers. Keep these videos coming Matt! Love the content.
It's so much easier than doing it on ramps.
The best setup that took me awhile to figure out was the Macht Schnell X-pipe with the stock E92 exhaust with different tips.
Rasp city !
John Mitchell of course
Sounds perfect to me. Might need to let that thing burn in a little bit, almost all exhausts I've put on my car at first that I didn't think were that loud but progressively got louder as the glass packs burned in. Give it a couple of hundred miles
I knew from Matt's Instagram post that this was going to go. Looking forward to setup #2!
I have the dinan mid pipe and absolutely love it! Try the borla mid pipe, that comes with 4 resonators too.
Seeing the headlight hot spots aligned correctly on the wall when you backed out was the best part for me. 🙃
A little rasp. I think changing the read section could help. Also not hard to do.
Quad resonators will fix it. It's on the way. I was wagering the Eisenmann sport would combat the rasp of the dual resonator x-pipe. I was wrong.
Unfortunately it's not the x pipe, it's the eisenmann sport. Personally had this exhaust setup on my e92 m3 and have seen many other vids w people running that setup and all are raspy/ overly muffled.
ya need a different rear section, Give the Race a try with the quad resonator.
Good stuff man, I'm looking forward to the rims you decide to pick out.
Just curious.....why not just have LHT custom-build you an exhaust? It'll fit better than anything you can buy off-the-shelf. And I'd recommend keeping one set of cats just after the header collectors to cut down on the rasp. It's not that terrible though.
LBM is one awesome color, had it on my 2013 “Is” never tires.

I like this video just because I am a bmw owner and I see you love your car !
nice! digging that black exhaust
Your making me rethink buying an e92 verses a new G80 M3. Thanks,
I think the best exhaust sound in my opinion is the oem m performance exhaust (or oem exhaust 4 pipe mod) with a catless x pipe that has 4 resonators
Sounds pretty raspy. Could throw the stock mufflers on and see if you like the sound. 99% of the power gain is in the x pipe anyway.
Matt,
I’m running the same Match Schnell x-pipe, but with a Meisterschaft GT2 rear section. Sound is incredible, but I’m wondering if you have any recommendations for actually pulling the exhaust tips to poke out more from the rear, and also to get the whole muffler to sit just a tad lower. Your warehouse is looking good!
Watching in glorious 360p because I am to impatient to wait for it to process 1080p
Have you looked at the American racing headers full exhaust? Always top notch quality and sounds great
love the way this sounds...miss my e92 m3 :(
New wheels will transform this car so much. Looking forward to that.
I wonder what the Dinan would sound like with that Xpipe. The Dinan should be quieter and probably not have any rasp, but it might not give you the tone you are looking for.
Might be worth a try since you already have the parts.
It's the opposite. I'm going Dinan Middle Racing quad resonated, with the Eisenmann rear.
it looks like its just me that love the sound, great job
Love the vids man. Keep them coming
Sounds good!.. I have a Meisterschaft Titanium GT2 Racing Exhaust on my e92 m3 an she screams really really loud!
CEL is on just because no cats right?
The Bomiz exhaust Spencer Berke has on his e90 is one of the best sounding imo!
I really like Spencer, but all of those Taiwanese knock-offs, iPE, FI, Armytrix, now Bomiz are not good. Good marketing, not products.
What trunk lid spoiler is that?
Oh boy, this is great guys.
Dig the addition to the intro
👉🏼👈🏼
Oh that sweet V8!
Looking forward to seeing your final setup, this sounds pretty close to perfect imo, however the rasp is strong with this one. Good luck and hope you land on a good setup, hopefully it’ll point me in the right direction.
I'm going to do the Dinan Middle Racing with this Eisenmann. We'll see if that does it.
You should go Eisenmann race all the way.
Sounds really nice
I have the bimmerworld magnaflow race exhaust (catless with resonator) mated to the exact Dinan mufflers you just removed and it sounds awesome.
Still waiting on one that sounds better than the blue GT3 you used to have. This was a disappointment for me but I hope you like it.
Sounds sweet Matt
This car will be sick, after its complete. What the factory HP and Torque??
Gotta make this thing a beast
Ruh roh. Don’t like the sound? Guess I will have to watch.
eisenmann race exhaust all the way. its simply the best. no need for adventure.
I'm surprised you didn't detail the undercarriage before you put the new exhaust in, haha
It seems a tad 'restricted' sounding. Not quite there. Maybe needs break-in time?
I wish we had used ceramic tiles before replacing the pipes.
Why not rktunes? Only because of remote tuning? Car looks and sounds great btw.
I'm not familiar.
Nice sound. You should try Akrapovic full exhaust though, that is imo the cleanest one, deep and loud, cheers
No to that. Akra on the M3 is the super overrated. I don't like how titanium makes cars sound.
Can we get a video on how you clean your engine bays? Not sure if you do or not. Thx
You should move to Germany, bmw, Porsche, eisenmann, kranzle...
Not so bad here 😉
What didn't work? Looks good so far.
sounds great mate
Nice.
Try QuickSilver exhaust I know someone with an v8 m3 with a quick silver exhaust and it sounds really good
Hey does the test pipe slide onto the headers on the driver side?
What about the remus exhaust? sounds a bit deeper and less raspy
sounds amazing Matt! 💪
Sounded terrible in the shop but out in the open I really liked it, personally. I'm sure in person, and in the car, it's awesome.
So when u buying the Alfa Guilla Quadriofoglio???
Yay. I love people who actually do good things to cars instead of deleting a muffler and putting a 30 dollar intake in it and calling them self a tuner
If only a way to get that stock gt350 exhaust note (better than all the german cars I've owned - mindful that opinions will vary)
I think this car sound better due to the added induction noise you don't get with the GT350. They are both great in different ways. The GT350 is a far superior car, but this one just does it for me.
Great car I’ve owned. Congrats but you should’ve gone with the Eisenmann Race.
Too much drone when catless. I don't want it to be obnoxious.
@obsessedgarage i'm not totaly shure about the wire at 12:10 the tether for the exhaust to me look like a chassis ground wire!
Catless catless but what about emission class, periodic inspection and competent authorities? How do you handle that?
Florida doesn't have inspections. All you need is a windshield and mirrors.
I’m thinking about the mpe. What your opinion on that?
I've never been a fan of the BMW exhausts. They aren't bad, just a tad to subtle for me.
What are you doing with rear section exhaust, are u selling it? Just bought a e92 m3
did he fixed the vertical adjustment on the headlights yet?
Having a ramp is such a game changer. One day....
Heck with air tools, get yourself a Milwaukee Fuel electric ratchet and a Porter Cable corded electric impact gun. After purchasing those two I rarely use my air tools anymore.
I want both!
That's one of the easier exhaust installs I've seen. Even my Mustang is harder than your Bimmer. Just think of when you did the GT350 and all those people all day. The cold start is MEH with that rasp but once outside and warm it sounded quite good.
Just straight pipe it
Straight pipe is the way to go
Ha, ha... no such thing on this car.
Wrench w/ son,
Wrench w/ dad,
Next... wrench w/ waifu.
