Ihi newari culture | Bel bibaha newari culture | Ehee | Nepali maan ta ho
Ihi/Ehee/Bel bibaha is a traditional newari ritual done in newari community. It is mainly done when girls are either 5,7 or 9 years. Ihi is the marvelous newari tradition where girls are made as bride and married to the statue of God Vishnu, Suvarna Kumar. And bel fruit is kept as the witness. It is the first marriage of the newari girls. It is believed that girls are never widow as they are already married to the God. Father gives Kanyadan to the god, the most auspicious part of the marriage.
Every newari girl must go this ritual. These traditions make Nepal really rich in cultures and unique from the world.
