I have just bought this but can't figure out how to attach the top to the machine. Instructions aren't much help. Could you help please as I live on my own.

Have you successfully inserted the lever? The lever has a flap/magnet, open or position the flap/magnet levelled to the lever. While on that position, push the lever in to the hole. Once done. And you want to open the can. Hold the lever up, Open the magnetic part or position it levelled to the lever again, then position the can, then push the sharp bit to catch the can. Once it has dug in, the magnetic will hold the position. That's when you push the lever down so it will open the can. Keep on that position until can's rotation has finished. Hope this will help you.

Heya Christine, if you don't mind me asking. Which bit did you struggle?
Was it when putting the henge like? Because I did struggle on that as well.
If that's the case. You will need the flap opened while inserting it into the hole. Then push it in.
