  • "My Bronze Age" is a Chinese talk show known for its real, honest, and in-depth interviews with guests invited on the show.
    This is Weili's first public interview after the shocking UFC261 loss. After some time off for gut-checks and reflection, Weili opens up about everything leading up to the fight and how she eventually fully come to terms with the loss.
    She also revisited her career from the childhood dream of becoming a martial arts hero to retiring as a Sanda fighter at 17 due to injury, to working odd jobs to make a living in Beijing, prior to realizing her dream of fighting in the UFC.
    It was quite a journey, and I think we can all learn a lot from it.

    I really like this type of story telling interviews. I am pretty sure, from now on, Rose and everyone in U.S can see that Zhang is a hard working individual who climb up solely from her pure grit, skills and work ethic. She is not a government nor politics' control machine. I want everyone to be very educated on this for real.

      Rose is still painting bad remarks about Weili saying that Weili's words are controlled by CCP even after she knew Weili didn't respond to any of her sentiment. I say, let Weili's haters keep badmouthing her & Weili will still won't be at that low type of mindset. I'm glad that Weili is still herself, humble & respectful unlike Rose who has changed from a sweet humble girl to a bully just like Joanna. Rose has changed because of fame & money which will be the downfall

      Can’t agree more! And that’s what motivated me to translate this whole thing and start a Weili fan page on Instagram. The best weapon against bias and misunderstanding is real communication, meaningful conversation and education ❤️

    You're a hero to me, Weili. One perspective from an Indigenous American ... We have no other choice, except to keep a fire in our hearts, for survival. Our adrenaline kicks in automatically whenever there's a threat to out very existence. True, it is only a mma fight. Your opponent was hungry for the win, unfortunately politics was brought into the opponents strategy. A legend to many, Bruce Lee - " Water poured into a vessel, becomes the vessel." 🏵🕯🏵

    It's hard for me to understand how anyone could not like Zhang Welli . She may not be perfect, but she is a very hard working and humble champion. You don't always see the 2 things connected. I still think the crowds awful behavior in the 1st fight with Rose was the main thing that through her off her game. She seemed confused and hurt by so many people booing her. Up until that fight I liked Rose, but lost respect for her for bringing politics into the fight. I find it hard to believe that Rose did not use the xenophobia that has appeared since the pandemic got started to help her get an edge in the fight. It painted Zhang as a representation of something evil instead of the genuine kind person she is in reality.

    I love her so much, I started to be a huge fan since a week ago. So I knew her after her fight with Rose. I’m rooting for her, I have this confidence that she’ll stay strong whatever she does. All the love from the Netherlands, your journey really motivates me.

    Real champions know how to face their fears and face their defeats. I am glad Weili learned how to face hers. She is reborn, and ready for her next challenge!

      A real champion takes defeat with humility and respect. Even though Joanna was/ is a great fighter, I have never respected her bravado/ disrespect.

    This is such a great interview. I feel I understand her more, now: driven, but also very emotional. And the pictures from her life before fighting are so, so cute.

    I have great respect for Weili. She is a world class fighter and a first class person (humble, honorable, intelligent, articulate). At first I thought the stoppage was too fast. But the goal is to protect the fighters from brain injury. And I think it was a good stoppage. I still empathize with her though. We all have our battles in life, and losses, and hopefully victories also. She will be back.

    I love how she says she's pretty much let it go and acceoted defeat but you still have mma outlets still saying she's making excuses, i don't think theweasle even watched the whole thing

      @zhangweili_xiaopang3489  2 роки тому +6

      No they did not. And even if they did, they’ll still take words out of context and slap on a one liner clickbait title like that because that’s just how mma media works 🤷 It’s okay. Her mental game is much stronger than people might think

    擂台上沒有必勝的拳手,論技術rose確實比你稍強“當時”,你第二次挑戰rose時她明顯眼神透出恐惧,雖然最後仍然以點數輸了,但我覺得你已經贏回信心,對一些低端中國拳迷的說話,別把哪些放在心上,到今天(張偉麗)仍然是我心目中的中華第一戰士!加油!為華人爭光。
