I am late to discovering Justin Hawkins and pretty much through his wonderful blog but holy shit this guy is one cool hard rocking rocker. And he plays a pretty good guitar with the vocals to go with it. A true rock star! So few of them exist anymore. Rock on SIR Hawkins. You have a (new) fan for life! (P.S. I bought all of the Darkness albums because of you so go buy yourself a burger with the proceeds😁)
The Darkness is a band that always sounded awesome to me and I loved how they seemed to be channelling various rock gods like Led Zep or Black Sabbath. I was never really a big fan though, but, I too got more interested in them after watching Justins YT videos. These guys have been around for a few decades now but they're clearly still having fun and entertaining huge audiences. Hopefully I'll drag my lazy arse off the couch one of these years and check em out live.
Hot Cakes is very underrated. They did it old school with a lot of live band tracking and it shows.

My daughter was at this gig. Her first festival experience. First thing she said when she got home was "Oh my God, dad, THE DARKNESS!!!!! The BEST band live, you have no idea'"!!!

Saw them when they first came to the states, and they proceeded to blow the strokes right off the stage! Absolutely great live band to watch. So much fun.
went to see these in my home town of leamington spa and i have to say i was blown away by how brilliant they were,What a lead man Justin is he was a combination of freddie mercury and russell brand,he had us in stitches all night,i was expecting a 6 or 7 but truly they were 10/10 so if you ever get the chance go see em!
Seeing The Darkness live should be a bucket list event for all..They are pure entertainment with talent to back it up..I see them every time they come to the Toon and always leave laughing ..and slightly deaf
To this day, the greatest live performance I’ve ever seen was the Darkness at the Tabernacle in ATL when they were touring The Permission to Land album. It was also one of the loudest shows I’ve ever been too. Blew my ear drums out for days.
