      Brian Matson thanks Brian. Quick question: I’ve completely stripped down my bike. Replaced parts, repaired others and I’m ready to begin the reassembly. What would your first five steps be in beginning the rebuild (in order)? Thanks a lot!!

      That’s a tough q. I’ve been noodling it. I’d go from back to front I think. I feel like series went in a good order but keep in mind I knew I had to partially disassemble and carry upstairs. Lol. Get the center stand on the frame first. Then rear wheel. Then forks, bars, front wheel. Then you have a roller. From there go back to front with fenders, lights, air boxes, battery box, coils, etc. get the wiring in. Leave the front pages/side, tank and seat for last. Depending on your space you could either put the motor in while still on the ground or just lift it in once it’s upright.

    But how did the oil come out?? Had my little bike for a month and it already came out

      There’s a 10mm bolt out the side on the bottom of the fork. Thats the drain. We may need to change the fork seals if you’re leaking oil.

    Easy stuff. Thanks!

    Thanks for this video! I'm guessing re-fill procedure is just about the same on a Kawa GPz750?! :)

    would you have any idea how to change the oil on a 1979 gs1000L?

      I do not. But it looks like there are some videos out there. If anything else refer to the service manual. Sorry. I’m focused on these old Hondas!

    I have the same funnel what I do is put a rubber fuel line over the end to fill in tight spots like that that way u can keep the funnel more upright less mess that way lol

      I think it came with one but I lost it. Lol. Not to big of a mess was made. I do like the design tho! The hose is a great reminder. Where the hell did I put that thing?!

    Do you think it's kinda the same on a Suzuki Savage 650

    Nice to see that dark red Tach range. The bike must of not sat out in the Sun for long term.

      Yeah. The gauge’s paint on the inside is almost mint. Really lucky considering it was outside for lord knows how long. It was laying on its side too but the gauges towards the wall. I’m sure that helped!

      @@KeepOnWrenching Interesting how all that can work out. It was waiting for your rebuild.

    You would be better off using an oil syringe.

      Yes. I still need to link to that video in the video cards. Lol. Sorry. It’s a long series. That was like a year ago

    • @KeepOnWrenching
      @KeepOnWrenching  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the reminder. I added a card that links to the draining of the forks process to the front of the video. I sometimes forget that not everyone has been following this ridiculously long series from the beginning. I'll try to remember that moving forward. lol.
