This dance comes from the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries. It was originally called chodzony (from the word to walk). At first it was danced among the people, but later it was danced in courts and palaces. We call this genre Polonaise. It is one of the oldest Polish traditional dances. We have many of them. The music that plays is a composition by the famous Polish composer Michał Kleofas Ogiński and he composed it at the end of the 17th century. This piece is called Ogiński's Polonaise. And the title of this piece is "Farewell to the Homeland" (or more precisely Polonaise in A minor "Farewell to the Homeland"), hence its seriousness. Farewell to the homeland, because Ogiński had to leave Poland at that time. It was the worst time for Poland historically, because it was the period of the partitions of Poland, where in one of them Poland was taken prisoner for 123 years by Germany, Austria and Russia. Today, 100 days before the high school leaving exam, in all schools we start the ball with this dance, which is called Studniówka (from the words 100 days). Students learn this dance for this occasion. It is an honor and privilege to dance the Polonaise.
What a sweet reaction ❤. This is a Polish national dance called "Polonez". Everyone dances it, from kings to common people. These are high school students 100 days before their final exams and the teaching staff. This happens in all Polish high schools. Polish patriotic tradition.
Amazing performance ❤❤
