I've been a fan since I was 13 and used to spend hours watching every live version of their songs I could find on youtube, in awe of how no 2 performances were the same. this show was the first time I saw them live with Frusciante and finally seeing him do a Californication solo + his and Flea's pre-song jam was THE dream come true moment for me. I love and appreciate Josh so much, but the way John and Flea click is unparalleled, and the magic is really exemplified in Californication. Anyway, thank you for sharing these videos!!
Even my brother in law who really isn't a fan. Said that there is a chemistry between them always in each other's face and jamming with each other between songs.
Was at this show last night and was quite possibly one of the best times of my life. My first time seeing my all time favorite band. I hope I get to see them again! Thanks for the vid
RHCP has been my favorite band since I was 16 years old. I'm 34 now and I just finally got a chance to see them with the true 4-piece. John Frusciante has influenced me more than any other guitarist, and to see the band play such an amazing performance, in our home state of California, was a night I will never forget. Watching this video made me incredibly emotional thinking of that night. Thank you for capturing this beautiful performance and for helping me relive the bliss for a short moment.
It made me cry, too. I saw them in SF (well... SF area... they played at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, CA), and it was one of the best nights of my life. I just started tearing up typing this to you. Haha!
Thanks for posting these great clips of Red Hot Chili Peppers from my hometown of Philly! RHCP are the greatest living USA band and probably the best band in the world! 🌶 -Brad in Cleveland 🎸
Wow. This was very similar to the californication jam in germany (where I saw them for the first time), yet so different and beautiful !! It got me goosebumps. Thank you so much for uploading !
John Frusciante is one of the greatest guitar players of all time... And the two of them, Flea and John, are quite possibly the best musical conversationalists in modern history.
I've seen the Chili Peppers before, but I saw them with Josh. It was a great regret of mine that I never saw them with John and it was a dream should he ever come back that I would go see them. Just bought tickets for the Tampa show on Thursday. Can't wait. John looks like he's having more fun out there than ever before.
hi there, i saw some of your videos were recorded at the spectrum in philly, i was wondering if you, or anybody you know, recorded mariah carey’s spectrum concert from december of 1993?
I noticed this, too. He doesn't look as much like an older version of 1998+ John, he more so just looks like an older version of the John he was up until he first left the band. There are times when he'll make a certain face or look in a certain way and I get flashbacks to 1990.
689,568 last I saw from statistics covering touring bands with at least one full length release. Would be in the millions if it included every band in every pub and bar across the globe though.
@@iwishic0uldw1n24 It was a silly answer to an impossible question. There are over 4,000 cities in the world with over 100,000 people in each one. There would be SO many bands in every one of them, even just the biggest 50 cities alone. Then there are all the smaller cities/towns too. Every rock band I've ever known or been in or around spends their time jamming. Thats what rock bands do. Its not like an orchestra where you get sheet music and play whats on the page.

@@hanfpeter4190 I’m glad this was my third show this tour the first two set lists were to die for so I’m fine with it, got to see John song your song so my loves complete after last night
He's at probably his all-time best this year, where have you been? I love the guy, but he could barely carry a tune on stage for almost 40 years. There are multiple performances from over the years where he's been almost completely flat or sharp throughout the whole thing. The fact that he sounds like 90% in tune here is a miracle. And it's been that way the whole tour. I really couldn't ask for more from him.
What? John has brought them new life. Yes Josh himself jumped around and stuff more than John, but John gave the rest of the members a newfound energy they haven’t had in a decade and a half
For one, Josh is half their age, for two he really should still be in the band along with John, they definitely could’ve continued as a quintet with Josh on keyboards and backing guitar.
The way they just suddenly fired Josh after already recording numerous songs was BS. Flea is an a hole. Now they won't play any of the songs from Josh's album? Ridiculous.

You need to get a copy of Horny in Hamburg, awesome live CD
One of the best pre-Californication jams and Californication versions I've ever heard
Me too, my favourite is the one in Slane Castle but this one is definitely very close to be the most loved too
Watching Flea and John smile playing some classics together again is amazing.
Seeing John smile makes me happy.
The interaction between John and Flea creates HEAVEN.. happy to see John jamin again..HERO

Has to be this way.
John is the only one who can stay in harmony when Anthony is struggling lol.
