I knew a guy like this. I saw him at work all the time. He was in his 50s. No matter how hard I tried to lift his spirits (sometimes blatantly), his outlook was always down. If I could sum up his entire essence in one word, it would be, "Sigh..." Literally the only thing he would ever talk to me about was how bad the economy looked. I always tried to change the subject or inject a little bit of optimism into the conversation, but it never seemed to make a dent. Nice enough guy otherwise, but a real drag to be around after a while.
