Let's kick off the week with a ROCKET RIDE!! We're jumping back to 1992 for this one. I think I still have that blue jacket! #acefrehley #rocketride #guitarlegend #10Kvolts
According to the Billboard charts, the greatest Kiss songs by year: 1975 Rock And Roll All Night 1976 Beth 1977 Calling Dr Love 1978 Rocket Ride 1979 I Was Made For Lovin You Add the fact that "New York Groove" was the most popular solo track from the Kiss members in 1978 and you have a complete Ace domination of 1978.
I bought KISS ALIVE II hours after it hit the shelves in 1978. On the B-side of disk 2 were 5 new songs. Rocket Ride was the best track, hands down. Ace rules!!!
@cm2881 You're correct. I'm getting old. Losing my memory. I found it in a music shop in downtown Edmonds, Washington, where we lived at the time. My mother was divorcing my father. She took me and my little brother to a store that day to shop for groceries to stock up her new apartment that was located in Lynnwood, just north of Edmonds. She introduced us to her next EX-HUSBAND very soon after that. We had to go back to our original home that night to continue living with our father. He was drinking a lot. He was very angry about my mother. It didn't last much longer. Thanks for triggering me unhappy childhood memory. But we have to remember these things so we learn from them. I thank you for correcting me.
THIS. This was the period to see Ace live! This lineup. When Ritchie Scarlet came back with Riot's Sandy Slavin on drums and the White Lion bass player. Great setlists, great stage chemistry. The 5 song medley - Torpedo Girl/Speeding Back To My Baby/She/Wiped Out/Hard Times! Ace's "Just For Fun" Tour 1992/93 Saw him at Lamour's in Brooklyn on Halloween 1992. On the ride there, got a blowjob in the back seat of the taxi driving down The Brooklyn/Queens Expressway. Great period to see The Ace. Great period. Kiss had Revenge and Ace was out there too. That was really the best time to be a Kiss fan, actually. Revenge/Alive III and the home videos Extreme Close Up, Konfidential, and the Kiss My Ass one. That one still had a lotta vintage footage and Gene and Paul stories about starting out in Chinatown. Anyway, yeah, that and Ace 1992. The shows where he's wearing the shiny blue m.c. jacket and the ones when he's wearing the other one that is silver color instead of blue. These show, this era, this period of solo Ace was his peak and it was GREAT to be right there in NYC with him. Gordon, Carol, Lydia, and that bunch. Ace's world was okay around then.
Ace!!! 🤘 You really did and still do kick ass. So glad you are still out there making music. Kiss fan since 1976 and I love your new album(lol, I Guess we still call them albums. Hell I don't know). Keep it up Ace I'll be watching for more from you!
They should've used those 5 songs on side 4 of "KISS ALIVE-2' on a new studio album : 1) All American Man 2) ROCKET RIDE 3) Larger Then Life 4) Rockin In The U.S.A. 5) Any Way You Want It
