Seriously go to the Elder Tomb. Use your multi tool on the tribal furnishing. You will have more wood, planks and plantfiber than you need forever. You don't even have to pop the core on the tomb before you can break them. Plus there is a TON of plant fiber outside the elder tomb. BE FREE OF THE LACK OF PLANTFIBER GOOD SIR!

Good video and ...I quite like your Base lol who would have thought Spanj would go to war with the Talon .
Just started watching, but what you need is a grow tower with several 3x3 fiber grow plots.
Edit: And I see you mentioned that. But in thinking about the attacks, you need a grow BASEMENT not a tower.

Would love see the possibility to make biofuel from spoiled food. Btw love your solo and group content. Keep up the amazing work.
A couple of suggestions:
Dig a deep mote around the base, so the hill becomes the wall.
Why dig on top of a hill or mountain - dig into it! Core it! so the Hill becomes your fortress. Dig down to to create separate floors and get that seed/gardens up and running ASAP (no need to raid villagers for fibre then). Also, if you dig into a hill then you have the one entrance to defend.
What’s your thoughts? Been playing this game for years (currently have 640 hours on Steam).
Oh and Sniper Rifle for the win. Head shots more effective then.

It is a viable tactic to dig into mountain but it could be considered as way to cheese the game because it completely confuses AI (at least that was the case the last time I played).
@@Mysticaaaaal Not sure on “cheese” (except on toast).
The first time I did it was with one of those disused bases (remove too many devices/blocks and the entire base collapses) and just expanded it. The second time was directly into a cliff face. Lot’s of digging (using the Drill in flattening mode really helped).
If you‘ve ever played RimWorld I use the same strategy of using mountain rock as the initial base and expand. With this game I tunnel directly up, instal elevator blocks and then place lots of turrets. With the slot entrance, in the cliff face (expanded for Hangar Doors)- Sentry Guns for unwelcome visitors.

@@Rev_J "Cheese strategy" means that you exploit mechanics in the game that were oversights made by the developers.
For instance in Empyrion Galactic you can dig a hole in the ground and use it as temporary base at the beginning, probably you won't get attacked there. Even if you installed a core, they wouldn't be able to get to it.
This lack of fiber clearly hampers more than thought. Getting laser weapons ? However most of that sh** need Erestrium. Someone can become a tree lover over this :D
Hi Spanj. I'm not sure if they changed this, but Occasionally on barren planets there'd be dead trees around the artic and Antarctic circles.
I hate attacking the base because it reminds me of the times I played Conan Exiles >
i ended up coreing my own base and used a CV w no engine's as a base-stopped the talon attack's
yeh I think a lot of people do that. But I quite like the base attack challenge. makes things a little spicey
I feel like the seething rage and lust for revenge at the Talon from last episode kinda died out quick... I'm telling you, Spanj is too nice to be breaking, well, anything really 😆

@@Spanj JMO but after making the grow plots and the light I would have used that last of the planks to make plant fiber, used the food processor to make plant fiber seeds. No more having to raid talon ;)

put a map marker where you find the shaman it gives you an approximate distance from the base to search
24:32 The new(ish) rounded blocks that don't fit anything else, I'm not sure of their name, actually fit turrets nicely on their short end, if you orient them like you did the half slope, their flat end sticks out slightly further so most turrets don't really overhang them at all.
I always do the no thruster CV as my starter base build to avoid attacks. Especially in hostile environments like Reforge Eden.

I really hope RE2 will have like real alternate questlines depending on what your faction status is. Like how cool would it be for a full questline to aid the Zirax to destroy the Polaris? Just feel that would add so much variety in this game and would be awesome
You should experience the base attacks of RE2 Alpha. Them bastards came with 6 troop dropships and heavy seige bombers. It's absolute madness. Even with reinforced concrete @ 25k hp a block they still saw through it like butter!

4 Plant fibers, 1 nutrient solution and purified water equals 2 fiber seedlings. 2 eventually gets you 4 and so on. Like o there's have said dig down to survive and overcome.

You have an SV. Go into space. In RE there are frequently these space wrecks that have thousands of 15mm ammo. Maybe you find some in your system also?

It's cheaper on multitool charges to pick up and replace concrete blocks than to repair them. Unless reforged changed something to prevent that.
Are there any of those tree guys on this planet? They usually come out at night like the golems.
I always put my solar on blocks, just one block each is enough. I suppose on perfectly flat ground I might not use blocks, but on slopes they rarely work without support, unless the panel is horizontal with the slope.

Can't you also make seeds out of the materials in the food constructor Spanj? Get plant fiber and turn it into seeds then grow your own. Assuming you got rest of the materials required for it.
I think by now I would be living in a CV shell that wouldn't get attacked :D
In RE, when you spawn or place a CV on a starter planet, it instantly spawns a few drones around it in order to make up for the lack of base attacks xD

I would have thought you'd bury those devices a bit more inside the base rather than replacing them where they originally were.
Besides not using armored concrete yet, I am surprised, and a little appalled, that he forgot the power of a chainsaw and its ship counterpart. I know there is no wood on the planet, but it really is the best weapon for melee attacks. Put a couple of chainsaws on the front and go thru most your talon opponents like butter.
When I pissed off the Talon they attacked relentlessly with spiders - I hate spiders. I didn’t survive

Both local moons are Barren class so no plantlife there and he needs a warp drive to reach the nearest planet with wood,

i know it's survival mode but i think you owe it to yourself to at least give the base a very basic level of texturing
Instead of a base, you maybe should have built a CV "base" to avoid the base attacks.
In RE, as soon as you spawn or place a CV, several drones are instantly spawned nearby to attack you in order to make up for the lack of base attacks.
3:29 @@resurgam_b7 that has never happened to me in dozens of games when I spawn a CV which has no engines. Specifically, the Janus ASV available in the workshop.
IIRC, you are referring to a game mechanic which was removed some time ago.
When does Reforged Eden 2 release?
When it's done :P Tentative release date is towards the end of this year, but Ravien and Vermillion have repeatedly stated that they won't be setting a concrete date any time soon because they want the freedom to keep working until the mod is complete to their satisfaction rather than trying to meet an arbitrary deadline.
Stealing all the Talon plant fibres so you can make ammo to defend from the talon you upset...
