Some filipino people discrediting the effort that this Gilas team showed just because some NBA players in the Serbian team was not there. But forgetting that fact that the available players that played against the Philippines team was also high level players in Europe. ALSO, these Gilas players are on their early 20s and was recently just formed. Give credit where credit is due!! Crab mentality at its finest.
Ang point nila usally kasi is 'KunG mEroN lANG sAna si ramOS'. Baka lumaki ang ulo, and usually si Ken lang yang maiingay na basher, yung may ippo na profile.
Most do not have enough basketball knowledge so they do not know how much a big deal it is that PH ranked #31 almost beat the #5 ranked Serbians.
You cannot please everybody, there will always be criticisms no matter where you are in the world. Despite of the all praises and the positive comments gilas got, you still chose to spot on the negatives.
Filipinos be like...... There's nothing we can do about it, can't even change their minds.

I was shocked by this though, last time Philippines fought Serbia it was a 2 months of points difference but now seeing this college group of talented athletes ripping Serbia's dominance man I have to say these dudes has a very good future, especially the Philippine Team basketball!

Serbia didn't have 10 NBA players in their roster, but nevertheless it was a very good game by the Philippines and also very good coaching
@@zabahokietatay14 Yes I know that this is not the best Serbian team available. Serbia is one of those countries that has a lot of options on their players because they are that good. These players are still playing high level basketball in Europe thus I am very happy with this result because I genuinely believed that we would lost by 30 points and that was me being positive and realistic.

@@hellionus Yes everyone knows how valuable Jokic is. He is after all the MVP of the NBA like you said. This Serbian team is still very strong without him though, they swept the Acropolis without him and Bogdan. Which is why I am happy with the results because I think that even without Jokic, Bjelica, Micic and other key players, this team should still dominate the Dominican and Philippines. They probably just need more practice especially when there were 3 new players added in Serbia.

Wow! What a game! Those young Filipinos sure can play high caliber basketball. Kai Sotto and Kouame held their own against NBA star Boban. Serbia was stunned with the way the Philippines defended them in the second half and shot the lights out. The win could have gone either way if only the Philippines did not miss those final three pointers and had Boban not gotten those consecutive baskets. Nice FIBA games. Very exciting.

We are proud of you, Gilas Pilipinas, especially that Serbia was a bit shocked of the 74-73 lead at 3:55 in the 4th quarter.
I think more precise 3 point shooting and refining your end game are the weaker points but overall a very good outcome coming from players whose average age is 22.

You can practice all you want for say a decade but if you are practicing bad basketball system then it’s a guaranteed failure!!
To be fair we don't have any superstar in the PBA that can carry the team at that level.

Great point sir. but imagine giving time to better skilled players to understand that great system of coach tab. I believe we can still improve a lot of positions. This system will take us to great heights (it already is) but only at a certain level. At the end of the day the main goal is to win, and we will need skill to overcome the big boys.

Philippines had all the chances in the world to capitalize on Serbia's errors in the final 3 minutes, but hey very impressive for a college team. Future is bright
Philippines also made a lot of errors and turnovers all throughout the game so I think it evens out in the last minutes. And yes, very impressive of what their young players could do against a powerhouse team (tho lacking Jokic and other key players, PH also did not let their lead scorer play for some reason).

Who's rewatching this after the disappointments by Choke?
Philippine needs to make both Sotto and Kouame played together inside the court as twin tower in order to stop the transition offense of Dominican Republic. Just like on Serbia game, tall players sometimes make opponents hesitant. Philippine coach need to correct that. They should at least take advantage of their available player heights
Nah. The domican guards killed us in 3rd quarter. They exploit our weakness. We dont have juan dgl or even romeo. To match their guards. And also the fatigue.
The irony is we have good guards. But they were excluded because some of them got injured. And have academic duties to fullfill.
