Agree. Previous political stuff he talked about were probably topics he wanted to get his feelings off his chest about. Probably never wanted to get stuck in an certain lane but witnessing people were putting him into an category, he used this to clarify his position and also as means to put some distance between himself and that rap genre/those rappers.
Samson is talking about Tom Macdonald with the "I'll never beg for a Billboard" line. And when he's taking about a rapper who said Samson is just biting their "political rap" style for money he's talking about Adam Calhoun. A few years back in the comment section of a Flawdzilla reaction to one of Samson's political raps, Adam said he's just jumping on the bandwagon for money and views. He pretty much wrote him off. But Samson is absolute FIRE as we see in this video. He can rap his asssss off and wayyyyy better than those other guys. Well Adam is a beast on the mic. Tom has given up doing regular rap and just does political jingles now. Which is cool and the topics are needed. But it's the same thing over and over. Personally I'm happy Samson is going back to his roots of doing REAL rap and Hip Hop. Not money grabbing jingles.

Enjoy those tracks as much as you can because Samson isn't putting out anymore political raps. And those tracks are amazing and all but Samson's non political rap tracks are WAYYYYYYY better! His song "A Lot" and so many others blows anything political he's done out of the water!

Funny how everyone is at Tom's neck on this one. Trying to call him a cash grab, or political rapper. Yall the same ones enjoy most of the shit he puts out. The other 10% just think theyre better and have an attitude about the whole thing. The rap scene has always been about individuality and who does it better without just enjoying the intent. This is why they always dissing and fighting. The billboard sht is hilarious to me. Tom does push to get billboard tracks but it was never intended solely for money. Other rappers get them unconsciously due to their label and they dont even recognize whats going on because its done unbeknownst to them in the background by the label and they probably get a low rotalty share of the money. Tom has always done it to show the flaw in the system. To try and show the filth that happens at the top. His fans put him in the billboard to make that point. If Tom didnt do half the shit he does, rappers would continue to get owned by media conglomerates and not know the difference. Now you have a new wave of independence in rap giving them freedom of expression to tall how they want since the blueprint is there to game the system. I love Samson and i love Tom, but people "rope" them together for more than political rap, it also has to do with their ability to make you think as well.
