Aldous Huxley's Brave New World is about a dystopian world 500 years in the future. All of humanity is controlled by an authoritarian regime that uses genetic engineering, pharmaceuticals, global social conditioning, oppressive thought control, propaganda, and more to keep people in line. The stability this produces carries a terrible cost in human individuality and happiness. However, despite the best efforts of the world state, the book's protagonists discover that human discontent cannot be stifled completely.

This channel has been my lifeline. Almost every book I’ve had to read in school has a summary here, and it’s helped immensely with understanding the books better for tests and projects.

Thank you, this was very helpful understanding the beginning of the book!
I'm reading this book recreationally, but the imagery inside is really helpful to have an actual visual aid along with it. Love the content! Thank you. I was actually explaining quite well. This helped me realize
i am as well, and while it is very confusing, i can relate some of themes to the direction our world is taking in 2021
@@stevenkoja5 I'm heading into chapter 4 right now and am surprised how technical this book is so far! And sadly, there are parts of it that ring true to this day. The chastising of other people because of some morality you possess, but that isn't just yours but some groupthink given to you. Now we have algorithms that make internet bubbles that contain us, and now we have lots of infighting, but still a very relevant aspect of the book.
@@kevin_dasilva Agreed forgot I read this book, reminded me a lot. Thanks for your comment
Thank God I found this, I was so lost before
This channel has been my life saver in school. So far almost every book we had to read in school there is a summary here, and OMG those Shakespeare novels these videos seriously have helped me sooo much! Thank you!!!
A really helpful short summary of the first Chapter!!
Dry? I was hooked by it and had to come to the web to get a visual interpretation! Thank you 😁
Thankfully I love stories filled with details, worldbuilding and lore. But I have to admit, I am only reading this book now and am on chapter 4, the first 3 chapters are filled with technical stuff. Huxley masterfully weaves parallel storylines together, shows us how characters act and react through the lens of their technical lives. For me he us successfully disguising character development as exposition. I would understand, however, how it might not be everyone's cup of tea. Before you get a feel for the way characters are, it may seem a bit dry indeed
Can't believe there is a channel like this ;)
Just bought the book. This is very helpful
