The Thing (the original one, mind you) being one of my favorite movies, and as I happen to be an immense OST fan, I can safely say that this track is an absolute masterpiece. Amazing.
Anything that will give my friends nightmares and give me pleasant dreams, I want. I'm glad that you chose the 1982 version. That movie is so much better than the new one.
why does everyone enjoy the first movie better than the second one? the second one has animatronics while the first one only has plastic and rubber props... still... R.J. Mc. Ready i the best character in the story
Well the one with Mac is the second one the first movie was made in 1952 I think and it's called the thing from another world. But hey I might be wrong so correct me if I am.
The first one is arguably one of the greatest films of all time let alone horror films. It has perfect pacing, amazing practical effects that will likely never be matched outside of maybe JP, it builds a lot of tension which is easily the best thing in the movie, the acting is amazing, etc. The prequel had terrible CGI, not great pacing and an all around way lower quality movie compared to the 1982 version. And considering almost every horror movie was getting a remake at that time it felt a little like a nostalgia cash grab
VikingGuitar I like to think that the Norge base was just complete chaos. The thing just woke up after thousands of years of frozen sleep on a new planet and was adapting to its new environment. Previously I think that the thing didn’t deal with smart organism like humans and the aliens on the craft too often so it had to learn things like clothing and piercing continuity to keep hidden. That was why it acted as more of an aggressive predator instead of the patent ambush predator we got in the first movie. The thing seems to become more intelligent and cunning as time goes on. If you watch the movies in that order it really becomes obvious and is a cool character progression for the thing, although I do not know if it was intentional or not. But yeah the first movies way better and you made a pretty good cover.
This is art! This is mother fucking art!

Dude, seriously. That movie has such awesome music! I would do a whole "Best of Carpenter" album if I had the time!
This song should play if "The Thing" breaks out into a bigger populated area.
StonexxDemonmaggot if it reaches the ocean

John Carpenter would approve 👍

John Carpenter films are fantastic!

+John Nightmare IMO second one has really bad CGI on top of the practical effects, and it felt too overt. There's a lot more subtlety in the 80s one.
+John Nightmare There is huge different between something you can just watch and something you can touch don`t you think?
