Will be interesting to see what Jason can do on a pro team in 2022 out on the road. And Mat saying he has a "rowing background" is a bit of an understatement I would say. Rowing is still his main sport as he prepares for the 2021 Olympics.
I don't think he'd succeed in a real race among pro cyclists, but who knows? Much older Hamish Bond won the commonwealth games and demolished 1-hour national race, while weighting 93 kg! Top rowers are different kind of monsters.
To make a broadcast like this really interesting at all, viewers need much more information displayed on screen. Map of the course, gradient, rider weight + wattage, more pain cave footage etc etc etc. Just like this it is horribly boring.
What’s the story with Anna van der Breggen and Annemiek van Vleuten both riding for Denmark (Danish flags at 12:25). Maybe Netherlands is trying to spread the wealth?

Nice for the winners, but it's a pity, that the race coverage seems so boring. You could do every camera angle, getting close to the riders, showing race starts and every single attack … but commentators are talking about dropped riders and we don't even see them? And we don't see riders breathing hard on climbs or putting their power into conext of what they are capable of. Guess they have Zwiftpower and everything is available. Very sad that race coverage, works better in Real life like the TDF where you see dropped riders or chasing groups.
Why was Celia Hansen of Sweden given 3rd place when it is very clear in the video and replay that she came across the line in 6th place behind both Americans and Langvad?
It's been an issue from day 1. In one of the tdf zwift stages up the radio tower. Ovett crossed the line first in coverage and also what he saw in game, yet he was placed second. The problem is latency with riders connections.
@@schorschischorsch8088 the video counts to the viewers that they're attempting to attract... It's pretty hard to make it a legit event if you can't even trust what you're seeing.
@@MrBJPittI get that Zwift keeps people engaged with cycling/racing but it'll never be taken seriously as a "sporting event" until that's a non-issue. It defeats the whole purpose of watching it and having live commentary if what we're seeing and being told isn't necessarily true/accurate.

How is it any different to a road race, where a rider by no fault of his own doesn't get the cleanest run in the sprint? Let's face it, many tdf sprints are 80% luck when it boils down to top 3 sprinters. The eracing world champs are top class in real life, hell the top3 are world class in both fields. Gigante just smashed the aussie national road series, and won last years Aussie national road race against Mitchellton Scotts finest.

Dear Zwift. It was a real missed opportunity to add crowds to Watopia for the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS. I know this is the year of the Pandemic but it would of been nice to see some atmosphere. -sincerely ruined the Immersion.
Is the "screen display director" a bot? Why TF do they hide datas (Watts, BPM, course/elevation) to show only ugly identically frozen heads avatars with just names and their w/kg ??? The stupidest show you can find on any screen in 2020... DATAs ARE A HUDGE PART OF ESPORT !!! PLEAAAASE ALWAYS FULL DATAS, THIS IS NOT GREYHOUND RACING
It's absolute bullshit that pro riders were selected to race the eports world champs just cause they are pro riders. There should be a uci esports points system just like we see in the road scene otherwise you are just taking the opportunity away from people who train and race on zwift and these riders are essentially the riders that deserves an opportunity like this!!

1 ride on= 1 gram. So it can make a difference if you get loads.

I am by no means fan of this esport cycling thing. But give them some time, they will figure out what works and what doesnt and will improve.
Van Vleuten and Van der Breggen were shown as being from Denmark. They're Dutch, from The Netherlands. Zwift Data quality, hmmm.
Aside from the commentary the footage was much better in spectator mode on Zwift .

I've read that it is because its not not the video that counts. there may be differences in broadcasting so the algorithms result counts

its a way of adding tactics. only those 2 powerups were available so every rider had the same chance. Some just used it better than others
