Fun fact from the podcast-- When they filmed the scene's in Ricky's neighborhood in Philly, all of the Christmas decorations were not put up by the film crew, but were in fact put up by the Philly locals. It was also in July. So not only did they say yes to allowing the show to film on their street, but they all offered on their own to decorate their street with Christmas decorations in the middle of the summer just to be a part of the show. That's the City of Brotherly Love right there
@celestialdeath9659Nah it stopped in solidarity with the recent Hollywood strikes and it just hasn’t resumed. There’s been no word when or if it’ll return.
THANK YOU! That's where I recognized him from and I kept picturing his character in my head but could not for the life of me remember what show it was.
I truly do love the odd Sunny episode that ends in a bonding, wholesome moment between the gang. That flashback to Mac and Charlie throwing rocks at trains in order to cope with the shitty life they were dealt is honestly so bittersweet. The Santa flashback is everything to me. The fact that you can see the "santas" getting progressively lazier with their costumes, until it's just some guy in a red scarf is crazy LMAOOO. One of them is just Christopher Lloyd in a beard! I like how it also show how Charlie got addicted to glue,by having it be a part of a gift that he had no idea what to do with, nor any parental guidance around.
Oh little fact.. the house they show of Mac’s mom, is the house that Rob McElhenney grew up in In Philly. Not sure about these inside scenes. But yea like the one where Dennis goes up to Mac’s mom to hit on her when she’s sitting on the porch, that’s Rob’s actual childhood home.
Fun facts: Christopher Lloyd played one of the santas running a train on Charlie’s Mom and David Huddleston played Santa in the 1985 cult classic “Santa Claus: The Movie”
Ricky is played by Pablo Schreiber, half-brother of Liev Schreiber, who has been in a number of things but perhaps most notably Orange Is The New Black and American Gods. He was also recently in the Halo series.
Liev Schreiber was Sabertooth in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Among his more popular roles to the general audience (even if the movie wasn't some massive success). (Credit to the gentleman below for correcting my mistake.)
This is the episode where my perception of the gang went from "I can't believe how awful they are" to "I can't believe they aren't worse." Those are some messed up chiodhoods.
This is easily top 5, not just cause it’s the only extended episode, because everyone gets their bit and they’re all equally as hilarious. Charlie confronting Santa Claus, is fucking insane, love it. Thanks for the weekly eps man 😊
That guy you were wondering who he is when they return that toy is now playing Master Chief in Halo tv show...and also a bit of prediction by Sunny crew because he was in this episode and after his scene they show Halo game in background🤣
Absolutely my favorite episode of the entire series. Some of the best jokes and bits of the show and a sweet ending (which isn’t usual for always sunny).
The actor playing Ricky is Pablo Schreiber who currently plays Master Chief, so it was an interesting coincidence that Halo Wars made an appearance as well!
@@Alex-dh2cx Honestly? Same here! I know the kinda awful history of them but still, I love those cars and I'm always happy to see one on the roads. I have wanted to do like, a cyberpunk style restomod on a Fiero GT for a while now. Like kinda modernize it, with interior work and a screen and put a new engine in it. Something like a turbo 4 banger from some Toyota or Honda. Who knows maybe the stars will align one day and I'll find one for a reasonable price, anyway have a good one!
@@kaylzshter6153 That, sounds really cool. And there's a bunch of cool small cars from the 80s that would be awesome for that, an 80s trans am, an AMC Eagle of you could find one, a couple buicks as well. The 80s was full of really cool cars. I didn't appreciate them when i was younger, wish i had because they're not common anymore
That’s strange that Ricky Falcone is played by the guy playing Master Chief in the Halo tv show, then the next scene shows Halo Wars poster in the background.
This was originally a special 1 hour episode they have just since its release always have it as the “13th” episode of season 6 but really it isn’t technically part of any season.

Maybe one of the best Charlie moments of all time. This man bit a grown man’s neck because he just found out every Christmas his mother was who’er so fucking god damn funny and disturbing. I fucking love Philly. It’s the east coast San Jose 😂😂😂😂
This episode did not air, but was released on DVD separately (excuse for R-rating, and more money for the studio in the end, I suppose). It's always included in Season 6 reactions, but it was its own in-between Special.

Rip to that podcast. 😪
@celestialdeath9659Nah it stopped in solidarity with the recent Hollywood strikes and it just hasn’t resumed. There’s been no word when or if it’ll return.
Think they did it while filming the show
This was filmed during season 5, which is why the video quality is different and Macs mom isn’t living with Charlie’s mom
The couch giving birth to Frank Reynolds is one of the funniest things ever put to film.
Ace Ventura love right there
I love the shot of him sewn IN the couch
The kid they got to play little Mac in this episode may be the best “younger version” casting ever.
@13:55 The guy who plays Ricky Falcone is Nick Sobotka from season 2 of The Wire… Maybe that’s where you recognize him
I don't believe James has seen The Wire yet.
and Den of thieves
THANK YOU! That's where I recognized him from and I kept picturing his character in my head but could not for the life of me remember what show it was.
And then in the next scene he sees the Halo Wars advert. Great way to unintentionally connect them.
Also Pornstache in Orange Is The New Black, Mad Sweeney in American Gods, and (while the show wasn’t any good) Master Chief in Halo.
Frank gagging and choking at the fake apartment fire always kills me!
Especially because he starts choking before any smoke is even close to him
WE’RE GONNA SUFFOCATARHGHGHHG 👹👹
a reindeer train is crazy😂

To this day, Charlie confronting Santa is my favorite moment in the entire series, that's saying a lot.
It's probably the hardest I've ever laughed at a TV show!
Fun facts: Christopher Lloyd played one of the santas running a train on Charlie’s Mom and David Huddleston played Santa in the 1985 cult classic “Santa Claus: The Movie”
I knew that was him! That head shape and bulging eyes looked so familiar.
Jason sudeikis, Tom sizemore and then the big lebowski in this episode. Season 6 has some top notch celebrity guests
Ricky is played by Pablo Schreiber, half-brother of Liev Schreiber, who has been in a number of things but perhaps most notably Orange Is The New Black and American Gods. He was also recently in the Halo series.

@maximillianosaben you mean his brother Liev was Sabertooth, not Pablo.
@@stevenrod100 - Yes, yes! I typed too fast and missed that; thanks for the correction.
@@maximillianosaben honestly I didn't even realize they were brothers until it got said here. We all learned something today.
Lil’ Mac and Charlie are too damn adorable man
The wide shot of Charlie throwing haymakers at the santa always gets me lmaoooo.
This episode is a Christmas tradition in my household
🖤
Same!
This is the episode where my perception of the gang went from "I can't believe how awful they are" to "I can't believe they aren't worse." Those are some messed up chiodhoods.
Heh, one of my favorite Sunny episodes. Charlie going off on Santa is one of those top 10 Sunny moments that always sticks in your head.
This is easily top 5, not just cause it’s the only extended episode, because everyone gets their bit and they’re all equally as hilarious. Charlie confronting Santa Claus, is fucking insane, love it. Thanks for the weekly eps man 😊
Charlie Day is just *chefs kiss*
God dammit he is fantastic.
I have absolutely told people multiple times that when i die, just throw me in the trash. Dont spend money on a box only to bury it in the ground.
white people dont die
I tell them to throw me in the dumpster behind Wendy’s 😂
This episode has a 'blink and you'll miss it' Christopher Lloyd cameo, he plays one of the Santas.
That guy you were wondering who he is when they return that toy is now playing Master Chief in Halo tv show...and also a bit of prediction by Sunny crew because he was in this episode and after his scene they show Halo game in background🤣
I just got into this show a few months ago so I can’t wait for the experience of actually watching this episode at Christmas time
Absolutely my favorite episode of the entire series. Some of the best jokes and bits of the show and a sweet ending (which isn’t usual for always sunny).
James' horror and concern for Charlie at the Santas reveal was palpable!
Epic episode. Perfect timing for me to keep my spirits up. All the very best to you James, merry xmas and i wish you a prosperous new year mate!🎄🇬🇧
Ayyy you do the same, cheers!!
20:40 They had to show you that as a callback to the elf on the train. This show has layers, man, deeply depraved layers.
RIP Frank Reynolds 1943-2043; Memorial Services at Morrisville landfill
Them trying to give the present back gives me some major My Name Is Earl vibes.
One of my favorite Christmas specials for sure
This episode had me in tears. Tears of absolute joy.
Greatest Christmas episode ever!!! Can’t wait to watch it again for our family Christmas episode marathon next week!
I don't mind things being out of order, however, I hope you do the banned episode you missed soon
Charlie broke his ribs when falling over from the snow cannon
14:42 Derek from Drunk History :)
the little girl crying at the end of the santa attack was the cherry on the cake
Holy shit. Is that old guy Mr Lebowski?
Just checked. It is!
This might be my all-time favorite episode
SO MANY awesome moments in this episode. I love this one. I usually don't think Christmas themed specials on other shows aren't all that
the way Mac jams the simon says keys fucking kills me
This is solidly in my top 10 sunny episodes
The actor playing Ricky is Pablo Schreiber who currently plays Master Chief, so it was an interesting coincidence that Halo Wars made an appearance as well!
Fun fact, the Lambo is actually a replica Countach, likely built on the chassis of an old Pontiac Fiero

Always Sunny Christmas special is 🐐’d
Love the detail that the claymation elf has a Prince Albert lol
That’s strange that Ricky Falcone is played by the guy playing Master Chief in the Halo tv show, then the next scene shows Halo Wars poster in the background.
10:45 Christopher Loyd guest cameo as one of the Santa’s.
this is one of my favorite episodes
i’m so excited for james to get to the charlie work episode given his love for camera work
If I'm not mistaken the dude they were singing to is the main character on the Halo TV show, Pablo Schreiber
This was originally a special 1 hour episode they have just since its release always have it as the “13th” episode of season 6 but really it isn’t technically part of any season.
This ep might have two top ten sunny moments in it. Under appreciated
I laughed so hard during this video alone I might have to watch this episode every year for the holidays now.
at 21.05 I love how its the only time you see frank look proud of his kids
I rented this episode on a DVD at video store years ago. My first introduction to the gang
Merry Christmas past James! 😅
Callback to "The Gang Gets Extreme: Home Makeover Edition"
Dennis has a Countach on his dream board.
"I saw Danny DeVito's asshole" - Glenn Howerton
Fun fact the actor Rick is the actor who now plays master chief and was in 13 hours and other great movies.
I miss living in Philly man. I just wanna drive down the boulevard at 4 am again.
Christmas cookies is where its at - this episode is one of the greatest Christmas episodes in TV history!
Season 7 of Sunny is my favorite season. So many hilarious episodes.
Pablo Schreiber plays Ricky, he is now Master Chief in the Halo series
Classic Frank episode. Ricky was in season 2 of The Wire. He was one of main characters, Nick Sabotka.
The "Yo!" Always kills me!!
8:32 second time that window got smashed
Its funny, the guy they returned the robot to plays Master Chief in the Halo series, then the next scene you're talking about Halo.
Man... Been waiting on THIS episode.... One of there best. top 5 imho...
This episode in one of the greats.
Oh my god I’ve been waiting for this one!!!
during the attack on santa I think u can see Uncle Jack
Thank you, James! 🌞
13:00 You're welcome James!!!!
Eugene is the Big Lebowski!
Maybe you’ve seen the Wire? Ricky Falcone was in season 2.
You know, as dark as this show is, the last shot i always find kind of touching.
One of the best episodes
You called the running a train line before Mac said it! hahaha

It's criminal that they didn't record Danny Devito's reaction to being told they wanted him to tear his way out of a couch in the nude.
14:29 this was filmed in 2009...feel old yet? 😂
Familiar face is the guy who plays master chief in halo show
That dude that you couldn't remember played leprechaun in American gods and played Master Chief in Halo series.
Ricky is Nick Sabotka in season 2 of the wire.
"I've seen way too many naked people!" Now that's a X-Mas ;)
Best. Holiday. EVER!!!!
The Rankin-Bass style animation was tits!
Merry Christmas you mofos. ❤️
