Three years, 3 months or 1378 videos later, I still enjoy & get amazed, how this man closes his eyes and jump in the "way back machine" and travel in his mind, to the exact moment when he recorded this songs. Once he mention to us, these video exercise, digging back into his music career, have giving him the chance to reviewed his journey as never before, remembering musicians, studios, anecdotes & stories. We missed out on so much music in Australia due to high rotation commercial radio play when growing up. I love hearing this and discovering music which was never available when young. It is like growing up all over again. Great great music!! Thank you Lee. 🖐✌️
This is so early 70's.......very story like..........I remember being a little guy and I would imagine people inside the speakers telling these songs/stories........Dead skunk in the middle of the road......The Streak.........CHevy van........put that with the CARS of the time and the dress......Tshirt shops you could get graphics pressed on a jersey......tshirt.....Like a cool mag wheeled Chevy van or Popeye but in the 60's/70's font usually had smoke shop attached!!!!!!!! GREAT TIMES!!!!!!!!
Love it! I think for most, Kinky was an obscure artist. He did not get the rotation or acclaim I think he deserved although he was not alone in that regard! Great choice for a re-visit! Carry on!
The last time I saw Kinky Friedman he came to Toronto with Ramblin’ Jack. All of us had fathers that were doctors. Jack was such a gentleman he offered to buy my ticket. Kinky picked up my tube of lipstick from the floor. I liked that. Real gentleman. He autographed the CD’s I bought saying God Bless Texas. He is the real deal. Thx for this. Get some rest.

I understand yours and others concern about rest and health, but it brings to mind an old saying, ‘don’t make friends with elephant keepers, if you don’t like elephants’. Leland’s active life style and diet concerns put him ahead of many people with a concern for good health. 👍

Boring dual carriageway first 140 miles, rain with poor visibility in the mountain twistys & 100s of yards of flooded, underwater roads through farmland in the lowlands. The mud volcanos I'm here to see tomorrow at Vulcanii noroiosi de la Berca- Fierbatorile had better be good.🏍🌧🌧🎸
Wow, I just saw on Facebook that you had a small accident today- not sure if this is correct term, though. Hope the damage is just minor, as you described it. Obviously you didn’t hurt yourself. A friend of mine fell with a similar motorbike and suffered from a complicated fracture of his feet 😮

This time, it led onto unsurfaced roads into a national park. I should have turned back. 6 years ago on arriving home from my 1st adventure on this bike ( The Isle of Wight). I dropped bike on my own drive, folding right ankle under bike. The resulting sprain was excruciating & cost a small fortune in physiotherapy So today was minor 😀

People riding motorcycles are usually divided into two groups those who have crashed and fallen who continue to ride, or those who after find something else to do. Other intellectual gymnastics for an answer do not do much better.

I must disagree with you Lee for the first time. I think lots of us, "garage band musicians" would love to see your process of making a chart for a new song. Do you listen to the song, find the key, "see the cord changes in your mind" and write them down, or you listen and play along, stop the audio and write..? One of these days share with us that creative process and give us a "pic" of your notes. I am very much interested in your technic, and guess there's a lot of fans out there with the same interest. Have a fabulous interview, do some work & get some rest. We'll see you at the venue.

I had the pleasure of driving kinky in several parades in my horse drawn carriage in texas🎉 I also took many animals to his rescue ranch I was the ride for several pigs who ruth buzzy had sponsored. Horses and dogs I found a loose beagle several times from there. Her name was Martha Stewart. She was a friendly traveler Kinky. RIP. Our beloved colorful national treasure 🎉
