I bought a KTM duke 125, on the back of your review. Expensive, but the abs and the fat tyres was the reason I went for it. You can't put a price on your safety.
ime 66 and just started looking for a 125,this video, fills me with alot of confidence, ime off to the dealer in croydon to check out my first bike,it just looks great ,and love this video,
I think you just sold me on this bike. I'm in Malaysia and deciding between the 125 and the 200. The 125 appeals to me because it has ABS (a useful feature with the tropical downpours here) and the 200 sold here does not. I was just concerned that the 125 would feel like a 125 and not a "real" bike. That doesn't appear to be the case. Looking forward to test riding it. Great video!
This is indeed a very nice bike. ABS, big tyres, very neat looks, handles very well... I count myself lucky that I was able to ride this bike when doing my lessons for the A1 driver's license. I didn't buy this bike for myself though, questionable reliability and the high price made me go for a Honda CBF 125. But as always very nice work of you Cager, I look forward to the other reviews of the Duke family, especially the 390.
The review is awesome, it's the first review + testdrive which is absolutly complete. I wasn't sure MT09 or Duke, now I'm planning to buy the little Duke for city traffic on my way to/from work. Thanks a lot!
Before I decided to get my bike driving license I wanted to buy the Duke 125 because I could have risen it with the car license. But after getting the bike license I turned over to the Yamaha XJ6F without ever riding a Duke. Your video made me want to ride one :) .
Had mine for a few months now, Took off those mirrors though and stuck a few bar ends on. Absolutely awesome 125. Gets me complements allot and usually confuses people thats its only a 125
I'm revisiting this review now, because my Duke arrives on Friday :D It's my first machine with gears (spent 4.5 years commuting on a scooter) so I'm a little nervous, but also massively excited.
great video, I am currently considering my first bike & have been looking at the economical CBF125 & this DUKE 125…looks like you have just helped me spend my money :-)
+SandboxCrasher Ive had my Duke 125 for a few months now, got it through the running in stage & so can now really enjoy it. Even riding it during the winter in the UK, I'm averaging 94mpg…loving it!!
I am 6ft & find it comfortable, best bet is to go to your local KTM dealer & have a sit on it with them balancing the bike for you. The Yam MT125 seemed a little higher when i was looking but also seemed top heavier.
I love your work, what you do and say about the bikes are so right and awesome... please if you can, do a review about the SYM Wolf 125 like you did with this 125 KTM Duke... you are great keep doing what you do...!
did you ask how the service schedule is? some of the guys on here have been saying they want a KTM but that the service schedule sucks, that you need maintenance really often, much more often than like a Yamaha.
A transalp é uma polivalente! É uma verdadeira máquina que se adapta a todos os terrenos. A duke é diferente em todos os sentidos. Eu tb ando todos os santos dias de moto...até podem chover canivetes! :)
KTMAngryDragon Today my duke did not want to go into 6th gear. The red light was on doing 52mph, I tried and tried to change up but it would not go in! any ideas what it could be? it's only done 1000miles.
Check the sidestand is not breaching on the gearshift linkage when folded up, I had the same problem and discovered when the side-stand was up it was touching against the gear linkage and preventing it from moving properly.
KTMAngryDragon I got them to check it out and they kept it for a week. Today I got it back perfect ,no charge. They said nothing was wrong with it but its fine now!
I want to know if you would choose a 690 (r) or the mt-07 i own the 125 duke and i can confirm it is a great bike. One of the best you can get, agile, fast, looks like a big bike. wonderfull
Great review mate! Hoping to get a bike soon and was looking at this. For what it's worth is it a good learner bike (I'm in the UK)? I've never ridden before.
I came to the chance of buying the Duke 125 or the YZF R125, and I just can't decide... My riding will be mostly out of the cities, to school and stuff. I like the looks of the YZF a lot more, but the Duke is a lot more Agile and has ABS. Essentially my father advice is the Duke, but I have a really strong attraction for the YZF. My father is just afraid that the YZF is unstable due to it's clip-ons instead of a long handlebar. Any advice mate?
Pawel Horna Hasn't arrived in Israel yet :(. I wouldn't even blink before buying it, I am ready to pay for it right now.. But still not here and not even a expected date nor price on it, so I have to settle for the R125 or the Duke..
I would recommend the Duke. It looks pretty cool too, I'm not sure if not better than YZF. However, the best 125 motorcycle is Yamaha MT 125. It has both the amazing looks of Yamaha and agility of Ktm AND it has ABS.
It is a lot compared to what other 125s costs, at least it used to be. With Yamaha's new 125s the Duke is somewhat average. But there are still many 125s which are a lot cheaper.
Did you know that there is a hidden on off ABS switch on these Dukes? It's located at the bottom left of the dash screen under the rubberised skin, press it to turn off/on. :-)
Carlos Matos When in neutral, keep the button pressed in until the ABS light starts to blink and disengages. To turn ABS back on simply turn the ignition off and on.
Cager I also bought my bike based on this review! Thank you very much! I pick it up tomorrow. Now I think Im gonna get a Danmoto XG-1 or GP Carbon exhaust as these two seem to bring out the best in the sound....I am also open for suggestions? :)
I really wish they would import some of these like this bike, the Yamaha YZF-125 and others to the U.S. Not a fan of manufacturers making one bike for a certain country and another for another country. The only two 125 street MC's (not scooters or dirt bikes/motocross) that I know are available in the U.S. are the Honda Grom and the kawasaki Z125 pro. Sucks when you want to get something else and it's not available in your country.
hey man nice video I really enjoyed it , will this ktm duke 125 still be for sale in the shops and still be this popular 2 years later in 2018 ?? because in 2018 I will get my motorcyle liscene and I really want a ktm duke 125 but will it stil be this popular?
you realy should not think of what is popular, but focus more on what suits you, at this bike is both good looking, and one of the safest 125cc bikes, and is easy to customize if wanted.
It's being so hard choosing a 125cc for my first bike I can't decide between the Honda CBR125R, the Yamahas YZF 125R - WR125X & MT 125 so hard :( and time is running out since I love Supermotos as much as I love sports and streetfighters
Hi, I'am just before making decision about buying 125cm to ride mainly in the city. On my short list there are: KTM Duke125 and Honda Forza125. What is your opinion which one fits better to the city riding?
Hello anyone can advice me? I like very much ktm duke 125 but the bike new is to expensive, so i was thinking about of buying one used duke, but i would like to know if the oldest version like 2010 if it as abs?
was considering a 150 vespa primavera, then saw the duke on the road today and was like wow. screw the vespa, this is better. might go for the 125, never ridden a bike before and not looking for speed. just mobility through city traffic
CagerOnTwoWheels Today my duke did not want to go into 6th gear. The red light was on doing 52mph, I tried and tried to change up but it would not go in! any ideas what it could be? it's only done 1000miles.
Is this a review or a promotion video? I think people would like to know the "least good" parts of the bike too...(like the useless mirrors for instance)
CagerOnTwoWheels My impression in the KTM shop was that the build quality is not as good as Honda. Also I like that it is lightweight (the 390) but I wonder if the CBF500 may be more stable.
Where are you from? I do not understand your language very, roads of your town, landscape, architecture, traffic also to respect each other tremendously
Ok it's expensive but well built, but still, It's as expensive as a Honda cbr250r which is also well built, has a double-sized engine and a full fairing. I guess, if you are not limited to 125cc, KTM d-125 is not the best deal at 4k€.

Loved the review pal.. Seriously thinking off buying one of these for the daily commute
ime 66 and just started looking for a 125,this video, fills me with alot of confidence, ime off to the dealer in croydon to check out my first bike,it just looks great ,and love this video,

Loved the Apu call, ‘thank you come again’. Bike review was good too.
Before I decided to get my bike driving license I wanted to buy the Duke 125 because I could have risen it with the car license.

just bought one of these! such a comfy ride. heavy for a 125 but quality bike
I just had my first MC lessons, and I rode a KTM Duke 125. Amazing bike.

Welcome to the world of Orange. I can't wait until you get on some of the bigger machines.
best bike review so far i have watched, keep it up
Love your channel!
It would be great if you could test Yamaha MT-125 next in context of KTM Duke 125. :)
Pawel Horna
you are killing me! when will you post more on the other models? I can't wait.

nice review, KTMs are extremely popular here in california
SFR SanFranciscoRider do you know if they sell this model in Cali
Idea for a review: Yamaha YZF R-125... Well talked about bike, but love to see what you think about it (Y)
I love your work, what you do and say about the bikes are so right and awesome...
please if you can, do a review about the SYM Wolf 125 like you did with this 125 KTM Duke... you are great keep doing what you do...!
Great video, very informative, awesome location. Want the Duke now!
did you ask how the service schedule is? some of the guys on here have been saying they want a KTM but that the service schedule sucks, that you need maintenance really often, much more often than like a Yamaha.
5k and each revision 50€ cost

Selling my 125 was one of my biggest mistakes :( I miss it so much..
you can buy the 390 it's much more fun than the 125 :D

awesome, i will start to try to find one of this here in mexico
I want to know if you would choose a 690 (r) or the mt-07
i own the 125 duke and i can confirm it is a great bike. One of the best you can get, agile, fast, looks like a big bike. wonderfull

Ryan St. Pierre I live in uk have a duke 1 word fantastic!
Já que o Cager está numa onda de KTM's, que tal um review à 1190 adventure, hum? Isso é que era...
Nice review and nice bike. I'm curious to see how the Duke 125 performs compared to Yamaha's MT125 once it's released.
I came to the chance of buying the Duke 125 or the YZF R125, and I just can't decide...

CagerOnTwoWheels Got another review in the works? (Oh please tell me you do!).
I will wait, thanks :)
Well... now you can consider KTM RC 125 as well. :)

Bruno Kasper Mlodozeniec but the yamaha mt is more expensive
Great video. Is this the base model of the 125 duke? It looks different from the original?
what do you mean expensive? i think 4500e for a motorcycle is not a lot when compared to bigger ones.
It is a lot compared to what other 125s costs, at least it used to be. With Yamaha's new 125s the Duke is somewhat average. But there are still many 125s which are a lot cheaper.
4500 euro? Right before the winter you can pick up a used one for 2500 euro...
***** but as new they are 4500 euros
Yeah, you can get other 125s new for 2500€...
Philipp Widmann he didnt say anything about other 125cc's he just generally compared it to motorcycles
Did you know that there is a hidden on off ABS switch on these Dukes? It's located at the bottom left of the dash screen under the rubberised skin, press it to turn off/on. :-)
Yes, is hidden but still there!
Carlos Matos When in neutral, keep the button pressed in until the ABS light starts to blink and disengages. To turn ABS back on simply turn the ignition off and on.
bornagainbiker
I know that! ehehhehe
I have one duke to, check out my channel!
But thanks anyway my friend ;)
i am just wondering how tall should you be for this to be as confortable i heard that if you are 1,80cm (around 6 foot) + your knee will hit the tank?
Lowe mangusson I have one and am 180cc. It is fine . Just right.
k Tomo is there enough space for even taller riders? i'm 200cm and looking for my first bike
Alex Alexandrov well your 20cm taller than me. I would go sit on one and see how it feels. The Honda valero? is the tallest 125 I think...Har
k Tomo Hard to find a good condition second hand one and they have stopped making them for some reason.
Awesome review my man!
An excellent review! You didn't find the secret button to turn off the ABS though :P
I had one duke 125, love it, done 6K Km.
Trade it for a NC700X, really miss that dashboard.
Cager I also bought my bike based on this review! Thank you very much! I pick it up tomorrow.
Now I think Im gonna get a Danmoto XG-1 or GP Carbon exhaust as these two seem to bring out the best in the sound....I am also open for suggestions? :)

Did the ABS ever kick in? Do the other 125s come with ABS? Just trying to get your opinion whether the ABS is advantageous or not.
It's being so hard choosing a 125cc for my first bike
I can't decide between the Honda CBR125R, the Yamahas YZF 125R - WR125X & MT 125
so hard :( and time is running out since I love Supermotos as much as I love sports and streetfighters
thanks for the help man! :D
and what you think about the Aprilias? 4T ones because they dont sell the 2T anymore around here
Now I'm thinking about getting this next year when I turn 16 or a CBR250r.
Would you also kindly test the duke 200. Thanks
I got one after your review.
is good?
hello . I'm looking at getting my first bike and was wondering what you would recommend between the KTM DUKE 125cc and the yamaha MT-125cc ???
Hey Cager.
I wanted to ask you if you could do a Yamaha YBR 125 Review & Testdrive?
Thanks ahead. :)
It just looks great, goes fast, easy to handle, awesome brakes, sounds like a massive growling bear... its just all around awesome
Funny how it costs 4.3k where you live but almost 6k here in Norway:(
+He Man i bought 2100 euro Duke 18k Km driven and 2011 model xd brand new costs about 4-5k. IN Finland
+Fosse00 going to buy a 2011 duke for 2050€ Finland
Hi, I'am just before making decision about buying 125cm to ride mainly in the city. On my short list there are: KTM Duke125 and Honda Forza125. What is your opinion which one fits better to the city riding?
which is more comfortable to ride as a beginner? The KTM Duke 125 or the Yamaha MT 125?
Im 164cm tall. 16 year old. I've had my duke for few months and i've driven 6thousand km. It is very comfortable. I recomend duke
Thank youLaura
The yamaha mt 125 is more comfortable but if you are short the ktm is a better option
I have an option to drive my motorcycle (light motorcycle) license with this bike. Would this be a good beginner bike?
Do you have the price right? It is 3891EUR in Spain. I would have thought it would be about the same in Portugal.
KTMs are cheaper in Spain than Portugal. More than the IVA/VAT difference. Dont ask me why :(
10:06, There is a Blue Poster in Portuguese. Is this video in portugal? :D
Obrigado :) , e Ainda irei ter 1 Duke 125
Hello anyone can advice me? I like very much ktm duke 125 but the bike new is to expensive, so i was thinking about of buying one used duke, but i would like to know if the oldest version like 2010 if it as abs?
Only the 2013 and 2014 models have ABS I think
Shaun Parr ABS since 2012 as far as i know.
Just bought one of these for my first bike, I'm terrified about scratching it
Hahah, you said you haven't been able to block any of the wheels yet. That's kinda the whole point of ABS ;) you can't.
was considering a 150 vespa primavera, then saw the duke on the road today and was like wow. screw the vespa, this is better. might go for the 125, never ridden a bike before and not looking for speed. just mobility through city traffic
Hey mate, I live in Portugal also and I'm looking to get one of these. Can you ride with a car license? Obrigado
@Danilo Lopes Obrigado
This guys awesome haha great review
I'm kind of deciding if I should get this one or the Aprilia RS4 125. Any suggestions? I already have a Derbi Gpr 50 so I'm not a super-beginner.
this one
Is it bestter to buy a 2008 aprilia rs125 for 3.000€ eith 2900km and arrow exhaust ?
can you put a big exhaust on this bike? and what is the full speed?
I'm after a bike that's good for light off roading (grass) but good on road any ideas (125cc)
Yamaha wr125x
I was looking at the yamaha dt125r, but yeah looks like a better version thanks.
nice review! how tall are u?
im 1.85m tall can i ride it?
im waiting for yours Yamaha mt-125 test &review witch will be better Yamaha or Ktm?
CagerOnTwoWheels Today my duke did not want to go into 6th gear. The red light was on
doing 52mph, I tried and tried to change up but it would not go in! any
ideas what it could be? it's only done 1000miles.
Are the tires on the KTM Duke 200 the same as theese?
2.9 litre n 200 km ... how much is the mileage it can give ?
great review! subbed!
Will you test a CBR 125? Cause it is only 3k where i live
+CagerOnTwoWheels What cam and mic are you using`?
Fantastic review ! Thank you !
hi i would like to know can long driver (190 cm) drive this bike without any difficulties. Please help
+Janne Jussila that´s no problem! :)
+Janne Jussila that´s no problem! :)
Is this a review or a promotion video? I think people would like to know the "least good" parts of the bike too...(like the useless mirrors for instance)
CagerOnTwoWheels My impression in the KTM shop was that the build quality is not as good as Honda. Also I like that it is lightweight (the 390) but I wonder if the CBF500 may be more stable.
i wish they made some 2-stroke dukes.
2stroke naked bike?
what's the mileage of this bike per one liter of petrol???? please can anyone reply me that I can buy it for me
how is This bike for tall people? i am 187 ish and havet a hard time finding a bike that fit good.
Im also 1,87 and my bike (ktm duke 125) fits me perfect
Where are you from? I do not understand your language very, roads of your town, landscape, architecture, traffic also to respect each other tremendously
Uğur Durukan he is from portugal
Dominykas Ciunys which state?
He did mention Lisbon, i think
Hey, i'm quite tall (1,90m) is the duke too small for me? I'm not sure but sometimes it looks pretty small.. Has anybody some experiences?
look up
This or a Yamaha MT 125?? What is the better option.
The yamaha mt
What is the top speed you can mark on KTM DUKE 125?
Kishore Kumar 130 km/hr
+Kishore Kumar I've been on 110 km/h on mine, but I think it can go 120 km/h, depends on your weight, and wind too.
I got mine up to 134 today downhill and 123 in flat
+AQx LeGenD is it a good first bike? i really want to buy it:3
+Kishore Kumar It dipends on how heavy the driver is! About 130-135 flatted out is what KTM say.
Can you say me witch is better Yamaha Wr 125 or KTM Duke ? (sorry for bad eng)
afc the wr... thats my opinion
Im picking up my 2017 duke in february ;)
Great video!
How is the ABS? Better with or without?
that price makes no sense, I did a currency conversion and that would make the 125 more than the 390 or 200 here. it should be 2500 or 2000 euro
What city was this filmed in?
did you review the duke 200?
Ok it's expensive but well built, but still, It's as expensive as a Honda cbr250r which is also well built, has a double-sized engine and a full fairing. I guess, if you are not limited to 125cc, KTM d-125 is not the best deal at 4k€.
Dont't forget that there is the duke200 which costs just slightly more than the 125.
What about the YZF-r125? It's about 5K new. If I wasn't limited, I'd rather have a cbr500 of cbr250
gonna get my Duke in 2 weeks
Great video! Good Job! ;-)
If you want to lock up the front wheel just turn abs off ;)
I like your videos.
hi, one question; yamaha mt125 or duke?
i think the yamaha is better but the riding style is more like a sports bike.
hey, in which country you made this video?
it's portugal
125 will vibrate??
