    I bought a KTM duke 125, on the back of your review. Expensive, but the abs and the fat tyres was the reason I went for it. You can't put a price on your safety.

    I think you just sold me on this bike. I'm in Malaysia and deciding between the 125 and the 200. The 125 appeals to me because it has ABS (a useful feature with the tropical downpours here) and the 200 sold here does not. I was just concerned that the 125 would feel like a 125 and not a "real" bike. That doesn't appear to be the case. Looking forward to test riding it. Great video!

    This is indeed a very nice bike. ABS, big tyres, very neat looks, handles very well... I count myself lucky that I was able to ride this bike when doing my lessons for the A1 driver's license.
    I didn't buy this bike for myself though, questionable reliability and the high price made me go for a Honda CBF 125.
    But as always very nice work of you Cager, I look forward to the other reviews of the Duke family, especially the 390.

    Before I decided to get my bike driving license I wanted to buy the Duke 125 because I could have risen it with the car license.
    But after getting the bike license I turned over to the Yamaha XJ6F without ever riding a Duke. Your video made me want to ride one :) .

      I am 6ft & find it comfortable, best bet is to go to your local KTM dealer & have a sit on it with them balancing the bike for you.
      The Yam MT125 seemed a little higher when i was looking but also seemed top heavier.

  • @ReLLaXed

    I came to the chance of buying the Duke 125 or the YZF R125, and I just can't decide...
    My riding will be mostly out of the cities, to school and stuff. I like the looks of the YZF a lot more, but the Duke is a lot more Agile and has ABS. Essentially my father advice is the Duke, but I have a really strong attraction for the YZF.
    My father is just afraid that the YZF is unstable due to it's clip-ons instead of a long handlebar.
    Any advice mate?

    • @brunoML
      @brunoML 10 років тому +1

      I would recommend the Duke. It looks pretty cool too, I'm not sure if not better than YZF. However, the best 125 motorcycle is Yamaha MT 125. It has both the amazing looks of Yamaha and agility of Ktm AND it has ABS.

    • @phelicitas3342
      @phelicitas3342 10 років тому +2

      It is a lot compared to what other 125s costs, at least it used to be. With Yamaha's new 125s the Duke is somewhat average. But there are still many 125s which are a lot cheaper.

    I really wish they would import some of these like this bike, the Yamaha YZF-125 and others to the U.S. Not a fan of manufacturers making one bike for a certain country and another for another country. The only two 125 street MC's (not scooters or dirt bikes/motocross) that I know are available in the U.S. are the Honda Grom and the kawasaki Z125 pro. Sucks when you want to get something else and it's not available in your country.

    • @TheSigurd2000
      @TheSigurd2000 8 років тому

      you realy should not think of what is popular, but focus more on what suits you, at this bike is both good looking, and one of the safest 125cc bikes, and is easy to customize if wanted.

    Is this a review or a promotion video? I think people would like to know the "least good" parts of the bike too...(like the useless mirrors for instance)

      CagerOnTwoWheels My impression in the KTM shop was that the build quality is not as good as Honda. Also I like that it is lightweight (the 390) but I wonder if the CBF500 may be more stable.

    that price makes no sense, I did a currency conversion and that would make the 125 more than the 390 or 200 here. it should be 2500 or 2000 euro

  • @MrKiddoMoto
    @MrKiddoMoto 10 років тому

    Ok it's expensive but well built, but still, It's as expensive as a Honda cbr250r which is also well built, has a double-sized engine and a full fairing. I guess, if you are not limited to 125cc, KTM d-125 is not the best deal at 4k€.

    • @ripmax333
      @ripmax333 10 років тому

      Dont't forget that there is the duke200 which costs just slightly more than the 125.

      What about the YZF-r125? It's about 5K new. If I wasn't limited, I'd rather have a cbr500 of cbr250

    Parabéns mais uma vez pela review, mas desta vez tenho de discordar da conclusão.
    Acho que estas 125 "premium" já estão num nível de preços desajustado para aquilo que oferecem. É verdade que vêm cada vez mais equipadas mas, do meu ponto de vista, esse equipamento por vezes nem sequer é necessário e se não o incluíssem na mota, ficariam com um produto muito mais ajustado às necessidades do mercado o que permitia baixar o nível de preços e consequentemente assegurar clientes desde o seu início no mundo das motas, enquanto assim eles ficam vinculados a outras marcas. ABS numa 125? Penso que não se justifica, nem dado a potência (ou falta dela) de que o condutor dispõe, nem dado o próprio condutor que sendo inexperiente como é de esperar não se vai, em princípio aventurar em demasia. E sendo precisamente uma primeira mota então mais sentido faz de que o condutor disponha do mínimo de ajudas possível para que no futuro não dependa totalmente delas e aprenda realmente a conduzir e não apenas em confiar na electrónica. Display digital? Os antigos analógicos funcionam tão bem, às vezes melhor, e são bem mais baratos e simples de produzir portanto porque não cortar em coisas desnecessárias e ampliar a carteira de clientes com um preço mais reduzido?
    É só a minha opinião, parabéns mais uma vez pelo teu trabalho.
    Um abraço

      Já bloqueei a roda da frente numa 125 por isso o ABS justifica-se. Pena é o preço.

    • @EZin00
      @EZin00 10 років тому

      Gustavo Gonçalves Eu não estou a dizer que o ABS não se justifica porque nas 125 não se bloqueiam as rodas da frente, o que eu estou a dizer é que tudo isso faz parte de um processo de aprendizagem pelo qual é preciso passar para que possas vir a ser um dia um bom condutor de mota. Quantas vezes bloqueei a roda da frente na minha r125 e até a roda de trás! E tudo isso faz parte. Claro que numa mil ou numa 600 o ABS faz todo o sentido, mas logo desde início as marcas estão a permitir que os novos condutores em vez de aprenderem por experiência, confiem nas ajudas e isso, a meu ver, é mau....

    • @GusG_
      @GusG_ 10 років тому

      Eu percebo. Mas basta conduzir à chuva que essas teorias não se aplicam. Não podemos saber como está o piso e saber qual o limite de aderência do pneu num piso molhado ou com areia antes de passar esse limite. E visto que o ABS só aciona quando a roda bloqueia, podes treinar isso tudo tentando não bloquear a roda. Se bloqueares é menos um susto. Mas cada um com a sua.

    • @EZin00
      @EZin00 10 років тому

      CagerOnTwoWheels Nesse tipo de situações é obvio que compreendo mas talvez a utilização que fazias da 125 não fosse igual à que a maioria das pessoas faz, que são pequenas deslocações entre casa e trabalho. Eu no meu caso fazia a marginal regularmente portanto também não estou nesse grupo de pessoas, mas aprendi muito, especialmente quando chovia, sobre como travar. Não me livrei duns sustos mas sem dúvida que não saberia o que sei hoje sem esses sustos

    • @GusG_
      @GusG_ 10 років тому

      EZin00 Podes sempre comprar sem o ABS. Tens é e aproveitar enquanto não sai a Directiva Europeia a tornar obrigatório para motas novas.
