- There's some things about the NEW DoorDash pay model, that you probably don't know yet. Is the DoorDash customer tipping post delivery in effect yet? I answer that in detail in this video. Customer tipping before or after the delivery creates quite the challenge in cherry picking offers, as an Independent Contractor. How do you go about making the best decisions to succeed as a gig economy worker, working for DoorDash? I share some tips on how to find success, being your own boss. You need to reject offers, and say NO WAY LOW PAY!!! #LowPayNoWay DoorDash acceptance rating DOES NOT MATTER!!! One thing's for sure, Dashers will have a lot of competition soon!! More to come on that, in a video coming soon. Will Doordash continue to dominate the market? We will see!!

Never hope for a tip. Only accept or decline based on the information that you are presented with.
ROCStar Dashers exactly. Like I said before lots of this is the customers they should tip. I don’t order or go out to get out to eat if I don’t have til money. I don’t accept anything under 6.00
they should have ability to put tip before and after so they put tip before to get a driver to deliver right away, and another tip for the good service after delivery.
I would agree as long as they do not add to get it delivered and then take it away knowing that it would not have been delivered if they did not add a tip.
Exactly
DD sent me an offer and on Route removed it they then kept sending me low-ball offers I hit that decline button so much they paused my Dash. Ended the dash went on to GH and made $143 in 5 and 1/2 hours. You have to multi app. #lowpaynoway
I'm going to look at GH again thanks Lynne!!
I got an offer for $3.25 and I rejected that next 10 minutes I got the same order for $10.50 only for 2.5 miles
#LowPayNoWay
When I reject an offer on Instacart, I tell them *LowpayNoway. They probably think I'm crazy. 🌸
Extremely happy with the new model Jake. Over the last week I'm showing 30% growth
I made over $600 for the weekend only. This new model is amazing!!
Well done!! I didn't work much at all this weekend, but I'll be taking full advantage all week!! I ran the app long enough yesterday to collect some very sweet data for a video tomorrow.
Wow! Congrats! How many hours and what city do you work?
Rich Boyce I was online 22 hrs I spent a lot of time sitting. I’m in the Kansas City market. We are a very busy market!
The stacked orders I received are based on the new pay model, the new base pay plus tips. Just know that the closer the dropoff is to the restaurants the lower the base pay....not the same as the old model. If anyone is seeing low payouts on stacked order, the customers probably didn't tip. Oh, I was able to see exactly where the 2nd order was going by clicking the locations on the map before accepting.
The new pay model is honestly great. I've been making at least $8/hr more and I think what will eventually happen is that people who tip will get their food faster, and the opposite will happen for the stiffers. Which makes sense! If a customer wants to pay extra upfront, they'll get more efficient service.
People complaining about lower paying offers aren't cherry picking. #lowpaynoway
Don't be a robot. Be strategic in the offers you accept.
Drive safe everyone!
Employee mindsets that want to comment will continue to get CRUSHED with my replies. I’m using facts and data, while they’re letting emotions rule their world. Keep working smarter, love hearing it!!
foodtastesbetterthangasoline
Hi
foodtastesbetterthangasoline . .
The new pay model is automatically updated to everyone or we have to update the app????
@@quddusjunaidy7293 I was switched over automatically about a week ago. They're doing it in phases, and apparently the word is that everyone will be switched over by the end of September.
Everyone please listen to Jake and reject every order that is low ball! They will change it to at least equal what we had before if we continually reject these offers. I am even rejecting $5 orders because they are less than a $6 minimum. I am not liking their attitude and execution of answering everybody's outcry over their shady pay structure
I rejected about 12 offers and accepted 22. I make over 180 today best thing ever
I worked from 5-10 and made 175$
Connor Young wtf
i love your videos! i trust you lol
Thank you again for a great video! 💜
I like that you say DON'T ACCEPT GARBAGE. Sky's not falling robots are not taking over
One would think that's just common sense, but then again as they say...."common sense isn't so common," unfortunately.
@@GigCoachJake You're definitely right about that Jake. While dropping off a Doordash delivery earlier this evening a couple asked me about their DD delivery. Apparently whoever it was only waited about 3 minutes and left their $80 order somewhere close by. They were asking me about it because they were having trouble locating where their order was left at.
Door dash is only app in my area they try to get me with a 1.75 last night HARD PASS my car don't start for less than $5
I won't start my car for less then 6.00 because where I am at is 3.00 a gallon and car repairs are not CHEAP!!
Gas is 2.25 here and I fix my vehicles myself most the time so that helps keep costs down for me
@@ghostandsunetra760 I wrench on my own also! I figure a company worth over 7.2 BILLION and people want the convenience of having food and groceries delivered need to " PONY UP $$"!
It feels like you're delivering a sermon to me right now. "Jesus died for your sins so you can reject that offer! It's not a sin, it's a win!"
I'm deaddd
Grubhub is still king for now but dd is catching up once i reject 8 or 9 trashy offers i get an 18 and up payout. I think this algorithm is learning just like a car. Once it sees you reject enough trash you start getting big offers.
EXACTLY!!!!! I've collected tons of data showing just that. Now, if only more people would listen we all would be making even more than what some are seeing with this change currently. We all know these clowns at DoorDash are making a killing, and will make a FORTUNE when they go public. Their stock keeps rising, from what I see.
I got a $12.99 tip yesterday from one order. Total I got was like $28 for the delivery.
Difference is, on GrubHub you're waiting on average 20-30 minutes since they refuse to change their prehistoric dispatching systems. DoorDash on the other hand, is ready upon arrival on most of these offers. If anything, a 5 minute wait on average in relation to the longggggg waits and wasted time I've tracked and logged for GrubHub over 18 months plus, and around 5k deliveries.
@Jeremy Problem a lot of us are facing is we can't get on grubhub. Been on the wait list myself for a couple months.
all I’m saying is this is the first time dashing in a few months and I’ve never got back to back offers like I did the other night and no order I got was under $10 payout other then one Taco Bell order which paid me $$6.58 or so.
Amen
Can't multi-app in my small town. DD is only gig.
Same here
Agree with you wholeheartedly Jake! If we all unite and refuse the lower paying offers that don't make sense these companies will be forced to pay more.
Thank you, Jake for this informative video 👌🏼 The new pay model became effective in my market today (Greater Cleveland). The offers are good when the customer tips. And low when they don't. I declined those low offers #LowPayNoWay 😁
Loving the new pay model up here in Canada as well.
Great info, thanks, Jake!
P.S. I miss the old Discord days ;o
I assume people tip less overall in Canada (at least Canadians visiting the US tend to tip a little less at restUrants) so it seems the model would need to be slightly different.
Jake taught me to work smarter. Thank you sweetheart 😘
I knew it!!!
If an app is sending a bunch of bad offers...do you recommend closing the dash and running another or keeping it open and just running the other app?
I appreciate all the information you share with us...Thank you.
Jake, love your vids because u value my time and get to the point. I unsubscribbed from ptd since he takes 10 min to get to the point. I rejected low ball offers on gh and they simply stopped sending me offers period. Its called throttling. Can u make a vid about gh punishing drivers for rejecting offers by not sending us offers anymore and play favorites with drivers?
Thanks for sharing! Which market are you in? They did that hear months ago, but not since. I did a video on how to get artit, if it’s the same thing.
Im in west lost angeles region. I didnt understand your last word on the reply. You already made a vid about what?
Got a $2 offer today and accepted knowing it was a $0 tip. Texted the customer, “please consider tipping if you want you ever get your food. #notipnotrip” and reassigned. They can’t rate you if you unassign the order...Fuckers!! Felt so liberating
I like this.
mcraig79abc I love it! That is brilliant!
They can and will report you though, so be cautious. Awesome though!!
As a customer, I would never tip up front. Would you tip at a restaurant before the server brings the food? Of course not. But from DD’s standpoint I get it - use the up front customer tip to “subsidize” Dasher pay. Brilliant.
😂😂😂😂😂
Hi, do you know how much is the current referral bonus for doordash?
Thank You!! Thanks for saying what you said about acceptance rating..... If I may quote Walter White... "Your Goddamn Right"
On my region they paying way less than before
If it's a low offer I decline & give the reason as:
insufficient payout for this delivery
I spent more time rejecting DoorDash offers than delivering for them.
because you live in a shit market it's not doordash fault
Unfortunately I cannot multiapp because doordash is the only one available in my market and people here do not tip so the new pay model totally sucks here. There are going to be a lot of pissed off customers because nobody is getting their food here. We are not stupid enough to take those low ball no tip offers
I drive on the West Side. Received the new pay model Friday afternoon. Saturday and Sunday were awesome. Drove Monday for 5 hrs. and did $112. I believe $200 days are obtainable with this new pay model and my acceptance rating has actually gone up. My question is will this be sustainable for DD? Are we in for a big let down, down the road?
It’s sustainable and GH proved this over the last few years
Be careful with big offers we don't how long people been waiting this morning i took a $15.48 but it was 20 minutes away 10 minutes to get there customer cancel.yes i get half of the payments but im way out my deliver zone.
I learned this the other day you might already know. If you are in a situation where you need to resign for example the restaurant is running way late or it's way out of your way whatever. Call doordash so they can ask customer to cancel the order so you don't get a ding. The customer can order again any new driver will be assigned. Alternative is to call the customer explain the situation and that it would be advantageous for them to cancel the order so in new driver can show up for example a restaurant that's running way behind..
I'm also noticing they are giving restaurants quite a bit more time to complete the order. It almost seems from what I can tell that they don't start the order until you mark ACCEPT or have ARRIVED at the restaurant.
In my market they’v been done on arrival for the most part. Let’s hope they don’t go the GrubHub way on that.
Big Doordash crash when it rolls out nationwide Jake? More like the "Titanic hitting the iceberg" levels of crash and the chaotic aftermath afterwards!! 😅😅😅 Oh the humanity! Thumbs up for the info!
Expect all the meltdowns on every social media outlet, and beyond when it happens. I'll be running other apps, making my money regardless, as usual.
Seattle finally just got the new pay model worked 4 hours today made $140 and that's on a Tuesday. also I only saw one $2 order that $2 order will learn quick if they don't tip their foods not going to be delivered.
@Anthony Frank I'm not saying that Seattle has more ethnicity then New York but you do know Seattle is has a wide range of different ethnicity. I'm white I'm poor as f*** why do people always have to bring race in the s*** just because your wife does not mean you have f****** money. Actually there's a lot more people here who are Asian descent or from Middle Eastern who have the ton of more f****** money than white people so that comment is f****** stupid
And I'm not just coming at you so I apologize for sounding rude but I'm just sick and tired of race always bring brought up about everything how white people just haven't better than everybody. Do you know how many f****** heroin addicts here that are white living on the streets. Seattle has one of the highest f****** homeless population out of the country in a majority of the people are white. The world has changed it's not just white people who have money there's actually a lot of different ethnicities who have lots of money. Times have changed get with it and if you're not go back into a f****** hole and think about how the world used to be
Hit 1% acceptance rate... So many offers couldnt get out of the app... Crazy trash volumes!!! I mostly run GH just because its so easy.. DD is so aggervating!!! Does anyone know how to sign up for RICEPO???
Lmao!!! Oh yeah. It’s going to crash hard and for hours when that change comes. 😂😂😂
*I’ve declined so many $2 and $3 offers! Always reject low offers
How do we know if we are on the new pay model
ballislife2351 in my area (ATL) the base pay has been more than $1 and it’s actually $4 base and $6 tip or vice versa on the order if the pay out is $10 for example. Not you accept a $10 offer and you see the customer tipped $9 and DD only gave you $1. This new model should mean our tip is actually additional pay
Your post delivery summary. It will be slightly different and includes any peak pay in the offer. Aside from that, you will know simply based off the incoming offers.
so what happens is if they don't tip then doordash just offers base pay until enough people decline it and then eventually it hits like $7 or whatever so basically people who tipped get the best service and people who don't have get the least best service,
I think the new payout model is far superior specifically because you know beforehand it's not an $8 guarantee and then also it's going to be $15 after you deliver it it's $15 at the time of the offer making sure that we give the best customer service and that's only going to be a good thing
The best tippers get the best service, before if it was eight miles away and it was an $8 guarantee I was like eh no, now if it's $20 or whatever I'm most likely going to take that
i tried to apply to grubhub and my application is "on hold" and NO ONE at grub hub will answer my freaking emails its been on hold since March
Not a huge loss there, as most good offers are so far away these days. They've lost their minds, while DoorDash keeps getting better.
Just letting u know I'm signed up for GH and I have emailed them over different things. Tried to change my bank account. Took 3 months of emails. Also tried getting a new bag. That's been over 4 months and still no reply.
i dont know what other apps to use. instacart was oversaturated, shipt is working but its still so small i can only do Target orders from one location. Ive heard bad things like Postmates not telling you the miles to travel for each order before accepting them. I wont do anything like Uber with people in my car.
I received my first $2 order yesterday thought it was to be added on to my payout oh no i called and asked support they told me its the new pay model and said because distance is not far i said i don't accept any order under $5 it is not fair or good for drivers then he proceeded to coerce or bribe me to take order because he said my rating will go down i said i don't care that's slave labor not even cost of a gallon of gas so i said I'm going to cancel it in my app myself so i can put note that payout is too low not that they even care and i will make a complaint by email also like i used to do a couple years ago and i will cancel these cheap orders now when i see this i don't even decline but i WILL NOT TAKE ANY ORDERS UNDER $5.00 and im wondering who is stupid or desperate enough to take anything less than $5.00??????? They are going to mess us up and themselves too chamce to get paid properly. Thats disgusting man. Good luck people fighting this battle. Can't wait for lawsuit to finalize. Dashers please don't take cheap orders it is not fair and not good and not right. Are they trying to treat us like cheap labor in China or India? So is this America's karma from years of using cheap labor in foreign countries making the wealthy wealthier?
I never take stacked unless from same merchant, $2.00 from another merchant , nope
Eh, I will in the right situations and I’ll share one I had tonight in an upcoming video.
Still havent seen the new pay model
Very soon! It just hit my app on Friday evening, when it wasn't all day Friday.
@@GigCoachJake I finally got the new pay model and I got to say I love it. I know exactly what I'm getting up front if the couple customer leaves a big tip I'm going to know it. The longer deliveries or worth it. I went five miles for 11 bucks in the base pay was like $4 Plus $7 tip I got to say I can't complain even if the base pay is $2 is still $2 on top of the tip. For the people who complain about this who complain about the $2 orders don't accept them wait for the good tippers cuz you know the people who are going to tip now
#notipnotrip. They are testing us to see how low we will go.
My tips: stay AWAY from hot zones, stay 3+ miles AWAY from higher value subtotal bills merchant, low subtotal food joints = low to zero tips, taco bell, wendys, chick filla, nope, unless ur 3+ miles away BEFORE getting order, its not worth it. I know it seems to not make sense, but 1 order with these guildlines has value then 2, that take twice the time. Ive boosted my pay by 20% with this logic.
I am so happy with the new model, today was first day in my market, I made 287 today, won't even need grubhub anymore. I hope it stays this way. It did start with a few trash offers of $2.00 to $3.95, reject, then bam, $10 McDonalds orders with 15 min total pickup delivery, i had 20 and 21 orders, it rocks!!!! Once i got through the trash with instant rejection, didn't even read it, seen lowball numbers and just clicked reject, they learned quick.
Those who are smart, have dash cams and other tracking devices to prove their side of things, IF and when things like this occur. Let me tell ya something, this occurs on ALL gig platforms and ALL will pause or deactivate without question in these instances. It's common knowledge to those who do this FT, and that's why we buy things like dash cams and body cams that are inexpensive. Yet, PRICELESS when they save our behinds in a situation like you've explained. Which I've been a part of, and had evidence to back my end to keep anything from happening.
Let's turn a positive into such a negative, right? That's BRILLIANT, and please take that nonsense to channels that encourage it. Best of luck with that type of attitude in this line of work!!
This a.m. I got a $2.00 order request for CFA. That included the tip. That was hilarious. UE's pay is horrific. Please.
# LOW PAY NO WAY
will the driver at least see before we accept if its a "tip after delivery"? because once this rolls over to the new model, if its a low offer i wont accept still. i dont trust people to tip after. i get burned on my grocery deliveries with other apps, people not tipping at all!
Great question! The offer screen will look exactly the same. If we reject those, they will eventually be forced to add money to the offer beforehand. We don't need to play guessing games, so they can just up their $2 minimum as far as I'm concerned, to $5.
Unfortunately my area doordash is the only one doing business. GrubHub is total garbage in my area send me trying to send me 20 miles to Taco Bell give me a break. I do okay with doordash alone. Today I did $137 in 8 hours and didn't leave the town I was in
What was your acceptance rating for the day??
@@GigCoachJake if your talking to me 0. I didnt accept a single grubhub offer. I wasted my time downloading the grubhub app because ALL of their offers are garbage. Its like they choose the farthest driver to assign a delivery.
I was referring to DoorDash
Well, with the old pay model the tip always was up-front, even though we never see it until after finished, so if the order has no tip, most likely they never had the intention to tip anyway.
Jackie Rod I just feel bad for the people that were going to tip cash and purposely put $0 tip because that’s what many of us were passing out flyers and instructing customers to do. Now they are going a get slow/non-existent service. These cash tippers are a rare breed so I won’t risk low pay, so the base will have to be pretty high, or an on-the-way-to-another-delivery quick-and-easy stack. Under no circumstances, though, will I take under $5.
My new recommendation is leaving a minimum $3 tip in the app before placing the order and giving a cash tip for the remainder. This will at least reward Dashers who provide higher quality service will putting enough to make the order worth accepting. (My old recommendation was $0 tip in the app and a smaller ~10-15% in cash, since this both saved the customer money while still yielding the driver a higher overall payout than ~20% in the app)
Some passive-aggressive dashers who can afford a couple bad ratings might see the low-ball offer, accept anyway because it’s slow, and just take their sweet-ass time, possibly shopping an Instacart or doing a Grubhub order. (I have passive aggressive tendencies)
@@mcraig79abc I agree, I believe this is something that DD should be take care of, since they were the one who messed up to begin with, is their job to let their customers know about the new pay model and assure them that 100% of the tip is giving to the driver. And encourage them to tip, to have a prompt service.
Grubhub and postmates dont make me as mad as DD and Eats now... eats giving $2 like payouts like DD but blindsided
DON LORENZO what is wrong with Urber eats. No promotions or peaks the last month
I have peaks on UE for the last week but I still make half as much as I did before even with them 😝
What some people fail to realize is there are only so many high tipping orders in any area at any time. The more and more people decide to cherry pick the less and less good orders for the individual cherrypicker. I cherrypick and it’s obviously the best way to do things BUT LONGTERM it’s not sustainable. Just from this aspect these delivery services aren’t viable long term to make great money.
What you FAIL TO REALIZE is, the more gig workers cherry picking, the higher they’re forced to pay(they can afford to) to get the deliveries completed. We don’t need high tipping offers to make good money, we just need fair pay across the board. This results in higher acceptance ratings(win-win for all parties) and higher earnings for Dashers(win-win for everyone due to no driver referrals needed, happy Dashers resulting in higher quality customer service, etc). You’re FAILING to see the big picture and helping enable a shit system. QUIT ACCEPTING GARBAGE PERIOD!!!!! Or, quit blaming those who are making smarter choices for things that will never happen. How about that for “failing to realize”? Bet you weren’t ready for this quick response!! Now shift your crappy perspective and join the winning folks. Have a wonderful day!
GrubHub has PROVEN that on demand food delivery CAN pay very well, AND be very PROFITABLE!!!! You’re using assumptions based off no historical evidence or evidence whatsoever. Pure speculation off human based fear. You let fear rule your decisions while I help educate others with FACTS, and data to help them make sound decisions. Again I say, this IS SUSTAINABLE!!!! It’s been proven already. Try again!!
Doordash is already crashing
Oh boyyyy, here we go lol
Haven't used DD in 1.5 yrs. I've been loving the past week Jake. I pretty much auction myself off to the highest bidder between GH and DD.
Rejecting offers make ya acceptance rating go down
Thanks for stating the obvious. Now please fill me in on why that even matters? I can tell you beforehand, it doesn’t and you’re barking up the wrong tree trying to say it does. Get to rejecting and you will start making more $$!!!
learn something new everyday I’d thought they could deactivate you for having an low acceptance rate
I went from 87% to 82% acceptance rate the other night rejecting. Made good money in small amount of time. My question is at what point do they deactivate u. Like what is the number I shouldnt fall below. At some point Im gonna have to take alot of orders to get it back up right? Im out of work right now. So these gig apps will be full time for me for now.
Trajik Johnson that’s the question I wanna know that’s why I mentioned that denying em will make rate go down so we’re wondering same
My rate now at 80% an customer rating at 4.78
There's nothing new about it except for paying you Dashers lower. It's sh*tty.
Funny thing is, my average $/delivery and overall earnings are up. Numbers don’t lie and people get caught up in their emotions wayyyy too much!! Please do stay away from DoorDash so those who aren’t clueless can keep taking advantage!!! Be my guest
