    @CampKohler Yes, camera was on auto exposure. The lighting in my lab is not kind.

    @fax8 The main problem is that there are is too much of a narrow usability window on a DIY pick'n'place machine. i.e. the trade off between complexity, speed, multi-reel utility, and simply sending it to an assembly house. See my EEVblog forum for talk on this, I can't post links in comments. But good luck with it.

    @natepepin09 Yeah, I turned the camera off there thinking it was wasn't on! Had to edit that bit out.

    Hey Dave. love the blog. thanks for the tronix stuff link. that'll keep me busy for awhile. also love the RAW style. keep em' coming. cheers.

    @electrodacus I just got some of these from Mouser - super-cool silver on white display - would be perfect for a watch. There is also a 400x240 one - not so silver but somewhere between e-ink and a good low-muxLCD in contrast - way better than any mono graphic LCD.

    Interesting 'raw' video Dave! The most interesting part I think was you mentioning Ardupilot which is something I've been explaineing to my Aeromodelling mate. Of course I can't recommend he get one for his $2000+ planes. I do like the idea of a quad/hexacopter (actually Y6 config looks good now).
    Also it seems one of our great Aussie programmers - Andrew Tridgell (father of Samba) is now involved in this area.

    @heyhey1385 Yes, that's what I plan to use as the controller.

    @TheOneToxic I use PCBcart. I don't know nay one who works there, so have no idea. Good question though...

    YES updates on what your working on is a great idea Dave!!!
    BTW whens your teardown of that Sexy techtonix 50Mhz scope ?

    Wouldn't it be quicker to line up ten on the bench in a row & just move the probes rather than moving them about each time....?

  • @ivanv754
    @ivanv754 13 років тому

    @EEVblog Well, I started a design for a portable 4 wire measurement a while ago adapter and I wanted to do the same thing you did with the enclosure. You can order just the box (150+ quantities), recycle it along with all the packaging or sell them on eBay.

    Have you ever opened up the Keithly to see if you could lube the switch contacts and detents?

  • @FelipeBalbi
    @FelipeBalbi 12 років тому

    BTW Dave, there's this new USB Specification called USB Power Delivery which allows a USB port to source up to 100W of power. Once that becomes the norm on PCs, that'd be great for your USB Supply project.

    Bed of nails just for your test probe connection would be a good idea, whatch how much time you burn up just pluggin in and unplugging,
    And a simple cross over switch could swap 2 leads for your polarity check.

    I use pcbcart as well. The quality seems quite good. Surface finishes might make an interesting blog (HASL vs ENIG vs ....). If you have already covered this I apologize; I just found your blog and have been slowly working my way though the videos

    When are you going to tear-down Tektronix 2225? Can you also tear-down fA and pV sources you used for testing µCurrent? I am very curious to see how is 10 fA generated .

    @ivanv754 13 років тому

    @EEVblog Dave, what do you do with the boxes' lids?

  • @sagaertj
    @sagaertj 11 років тому

    Dave , as a variant, put a LEM current transducer in it, it gives you ISOLATED currrent to voltage from DC to around 100 Kc depending on the model.
    (eg : www.lem.com/docs/products/la%2025-np.pdf )

    How do you plug those multimeter probes to the banana jacks on the uCurrent? When I do that, the probes just wiggle around..

  • @EEVblog
    @EEVblog  13 років тому

    @KeeFCrook Two reasons. 1) It helps keep the thing in place when plugging and unplugging, annoying otherwise. 2) I'm willing them to work by putting on the screws first :->

    isn't the ardupilot a diy autopilot/drone capable of doing a quad/oct/hex coptor

  • @Kris_M

    Why don't you put the 10 units in series?
    Then you don't need to switch the current supply probes every time, only the V ones.

    Ahh, my computer is broken so now is when I notice you did a live show. I am using a very slow 3G connection right now so I can't watch this right now.

    I like those current and voltage sources by the end of the video. Too bad they probably weight 10 pounds each. By the way, I hope the 1.1kV source has a high internal resistance.

    Those component reels look like old 8mm film reels.

  • @ivanv754
    @ivanv754 13 років тому

    Oh, A 4 wire measurement *adapter*, sorry. It's just a current source with 2% accuracy. No calibration. It might get down to 1% to 0.5% with some calibration.

    Yaay! Only 3 more episodes to the sparkling super #200 special! I expect fire, flames and women all over the spectrum! :)
    Will wait until this one shows up at 720p... :)

  • @CampKohler
    @CampKohler 13 років тому

    Every time you hold up the component reel, which is white, the camera thinks the sun has come up and turns down the brightness.
    Kill two birds with one stone: the quadcopter picks up each component, flies over to the board, puts it down and flies back until finally, it flies into the living room, IRs the off command to the TV and says, "It's done Dave. Now get off your dead ass and solder them."

    YES P&P thats open source SHIT YEAH go on!!!!!!!!!
    and yeah i found the feeders were bloody expencive just to play with to work on my own P&P, like 800bucks or so and i mean come on i only want to know how thay work..
    atleast i got the componet rotation down quite well... just used a sealed bearring wielded on nozzle and belt around the dia to rotate!
    but hey if you have a few ideas on a P&P let us know

    2 things now that I watched it all:
    1 - You really need to visit AeroQuad [dot] com! We're in the prototype stadium of a STM32 multicopter controller, and already got the regular Arduino's maturely and steadily running our copters, we NEED you there! All OPEN hard/soft of course.
    2 - you're beginning to look really old! :)
