You can see this guy going from Metallica to Dream Theater to Polyphia and Ichika territory...and then transcending into his own artist. Truly amazing.
@@CNBLURR You say when you literally compared them the sentence before...
My evolution is riff 1 and then twenty years later it's riff 2. 😂😂😂😂
This feels like a World's Biggest Shred Collab, because of how different every style is from each other
Except world biggest shred collab is basically just mindless boring shredding with just a couple people really sticking out every time and making it worth it
@@davidandre3719 shredding can't be mindless because all shredders are always thinking about chord changes, which lick/scale to use and the melody
Single tuning
Single guitar
Captured my music tastes and its variations.
Words cannot describe how much I love this.
Oh man.. those chords you picked at 0:30 are just a straight eargasm
It reminds me so much of an oldschool band, I cannot dig the name though. Maybe you can help me out? :D
@@maycorpse7677 maybe Deftones? that's what it instantly reminded me of when I heard those shoegazey chords
With all the distractions available in the world, it's so impressive to see someone with such focus on their own improvement. Beautiful dedication.
It's like tool and a flamenco guitarist made a baby!
That change from your dirty tone to clean tone at 1:21 was the best tone flip I’ve ever heard in my life. I just keep going back to that because your clean tone is SOO gorgeous
1:39 fantastic . would love to hear the whole song
When I was younger I used to associate distorted heavy sounds with speed and quickness, and acoustic softer sounds with calm and slowness. I always thought it was cool/badass to play in the style of the first half of this video. Then when you switched it up and continued to shred it, I realized that bringing the speed and technicality of rock/metal into a softer sound can be equally or even more badass! It just feels like the music you showcased in the second half was a more mature and blossomed sound/style, which might probably reflect on your own growth as a musician. Much respect to you and your work!
So you went from metal to black metal, to modern metal, to prog metal (my fave), to djent, to sort of math rock mixed with trap vibes; really cool especially seing you adoperate that crazy right hand technique in metal
You seem to know all these names of styles but i dont know which is which, so whats the name of the very soft echoey pretty one?
Oh im silly and didnt think to grab the timestamp. Its the one that starts at 1:39, is there a name for that particular style? I love it so much
@@emerygrey1582 i don't think it's a particular style since it's some "clean" guitar playing some arpeggios, many generes can feature that like math rock, some metal and pop songs and probably many others...try exploring i guess
The fact you did this all in one tuning is unexplainably amazing.
This is the most underrated Manuel Gardner Fernandez fact, like um what if he starts playing in DADGAD I would lose my mind!! What kind of crazy arpeggios would this boy find
Alternate tunings are overrated. They're fun but people who can't navigate standard tuning competently yet use them as a crutch.
@@lukaskuipers7791plus anyone playing in standard gets an immediate w from peasants like me because I can actually learn their materials hahaha
It's interesting to see how man of these neo-soul virtuosos started out playing metal. There is definitely connection between the ability to play metal and some of the techniques and sounds we see in neo-soul
People start out playing hardcore, punk rock and metal because it's the easiest to start tp play... That's the only connection.
This is unreal! I can barely believe that it is even possible to have such amazing technique, control and dynamics. You sir, are a magician.
you know it's about to blow your mind when you scroll down to the comments real quick and everyone has a favorite time stamp. So the phrasing at 0:53 really hits me with the power of silence, I'm always afraid of breaking a groove or having a gap in riffs, but you take that and make it flavorful.
Your right hand technique is so incredibly relaxed. Speed is cool but going as fast as you do without looking like you're cramping up is insanely impressive.
@@rollbackmotte or your dehydrated, on drugs, not getting enough pussy or have a form of arthritis in which case go to the doctor because playing complex material like this will kill your hands. if you do have arthritis your guitar days are over. Happened to me after 35 years of playing. At the top of my game I suddenly had to find other passions. Now I fly drones and ride bikes. 🤷 not as many chics want to suck your balls flying drones. 😂😔
I can't keep my eyes off that Ibanez! That's a gorgeous guitar!
Discovered you through unprocessed, and I was already smitten by the quality of your productions. Can't help but find the evolution in your personal channel inspiring. Thanks for the good work.
If I'd choose one video on YT you can't skip a second of... then this is the one. Alluring from the start to finish.
So much talent!! You need your own signature ASAP!
To be fair the guitar he played in this video is basically his sig. when I see it, it reminds me of him
@@ihaveshitmyself4424 i feel the same way. But Ibanez needs to make this official! Maybe use the same model and use signature pickups
Manuel! I have been hearing you and Unprocessed for 3-4 years and I have to said that to me you're one of the best guitar players of all time. Your music express complexity and beauty but elegance at the same time. GOAT🐐
Thanks for sharing the experience with us! Love watching and listening
Great work, Manuel -- it's cool to see it all done in one take 🔥🔥🔥

I've been playing for 15 years and can tell when someone is playing clean! Also, humbled by the sheer creativity and technique. First time commenter, but a fan since 2018ish GREAT VID
Dude your playing just makes me smile!
Incredible as always!
Love ur transition from mainstream chug/prog/metal to the more melodious/intricate arrangements and techniques that can fit flawlessly over any modernist trap or trance stuff
Manuel - you’re amazing - I love the notes and sounds you put together - very musical. Hope to see you play live sometime.
♥ ♥ This video shows how much you practiced to reach where you are at now in your music journey... I really appreciate it bro... I still remember when you got less subscribers since from then im following you.. My love for you is never ending. God bless you brother..

What a phenomenal musician!
Wild stuff man. Killer.
THAT IS SO BEAUTIFUL!
currently i'm on your "second stage" of guitar skill when playing without too much effort, and can play the 3º stage if i train like crazy e go to my limit.
Nothing more above those, but still i'm proud of myself and my improvement.
It’s great to strive for more but also acknowledging the improvement. Keep up the grind KING!
Damn I like it man :) love your style 🙌🏼

Good playing. That guitar is gorgeous
This right hand is amazing man...
THIS IS GREAT !
this is truly breath taking
Thanks a lot for your craft !
I remember seeing manuel on the djent page years back. crazy to see his progression
Bro thank you for using your right pinkie on the pickup/pick guard as leverage. I got technique points off in guitar class in HS for doing that and I thought it was dumb as heck
Yep, I sometimes do that too, though I did practice a lot to try to be clean without needing it, I still find it helps with certain riffs/licks for stability.
been playing like that since day one without even realizing, just feels natural to me. is it really considered as a technical mistake?
@@yzekkai it's considered "wrong" but tons of incredible players (most notably petrucci) do this
great to see all that stages of the evolution
Thank you! Once again you inspire me to want to be the best version of myself
He is a master designer of tones.
That was awesome!
Für mich die absolute Numero Uno! 🖤
2:16 bro. what in the world. This sounds SO GOOD. I need to learn to make this sound. 3:03 is sick too
He's using chord shapes to change the harmonics position and then using the altered notes to make a harmonic melody.

Very inspirational for sure, you are talented Manuel.
What would u recommend a complete beginner to start with acoustic or electric?
Especially since I more focused on playing metal?
@@ejnova7215 electric
@@jasonday8334 why do u think so?
@@ejnova7215 experience I have 40 years on the guitar. I play a variety of music, but I love playing metal. I have multiple guitars. If you can afford to have both, that’s a good deal too. Having an acoustic to practice on is helpful, because you can practice anywhere. Electric guitars allow you a variety of tones. If you want to play metal you’ll want to use distortion. But even some metal guitarists can get away playing metal on clean tones.
