    As always .. another fantastic review ! I’ve been telling friends with slower swing speeds about these balls and they love them. It’s gratifying to get the ball in the air when it only goes 150 yards !

    • @GolfBallAddict
      @GolfBallAddict Рік тому +1

      Absolutely. Some people really struggle with getting the ball in the air, slow to mid-swing speeds benefit immensely from getting a little extra height on their golf balls. The distance and spin increases, while fast and extremely fast swingers it decreases. That's why a lot of people think height is a bad thing. It's definitely not for the right golfer

    Studies have found that this won't go further with the driver but may with irons because of less spin from an article in Golf Monthly. Funny thing back in the 90's I got a hole in one with the over sized Top Flite Magna.

      I found the distance seemed actually shorter with a driver, but possibly a little bit longer with mid irons. And a late congrats! The Magna and the Dunlop DDH were my favourite balls back in the day.

    I really appreciate the transparent reality you bring to the golf ball reviews. I love the big channels like James Robinson and all. But they don't dive into the details of the balls they review. They just hit it 500 yards and say "That was delightful." After watching your videos I went back into my bag and started actually looking at the balls I have found and now I know what may be good for me and what might be bad vs assuming that because it's Titleist it'll be good for me.
    That said, I desperately want to hear your opinion on the kirkland ball. Especially after seeing them take a significant portion of the golf ball revenue when compared to strictly golf manufacturers who took less of the pie.

      Based on some of the comments I've gotten, the question you need to ask yourself before using them is do you tend to have a high launch, mid-launch, or low launch? I think people who already have a high launch wouldn't benefit from this ball since it gets up in the air a lot quicker.

    Great ball if you like lip-outs!!! Played these for a few weeks years ago, liked everything about them except on the green. Way more lip-outs, very noticeable on slow putts!!!! I can afford 3-5 lip-outs per round that I wouldn’t have with a regularly sized ball.

    I typically drive 225-250 yards. I hit my furthest drive ever at 275 yards with this, and that was into rough and a slight hill, so it probably had a few extra yards in it if i had put it 10 yards to the left.

    I love watching you, and know that you know far more than me. But the max ball was useless for me and I don’t have a fast swing. The distance I lost would worry golfers like me. Keep up with your reviews , I love them. By the way I use pinnacle soft and rush balls yes laugh but value for money no Ball comes close to them. And I have used pro v 1s by the way.

    • @GolfBallAddict
      @GolfBallAddict Рік тому

      I appreciate your insight. I'm beginning to wonder if certain golfers who already have a high launch would not benefit from this ball. I usually have a very low launch, which is why this ball launching higher helped me. I'm wondering if a lot of slower swing speeds already get the ball in the air enough and don't need the added lift. That would make a lot of sense.

      When it comes to ball testing for myself I only take into account how far they go and behave on a proper golf course, which on different courses themselves will make a difference depending on the grass, ground, etc. I have tried out countless balls and know what ball is best for me. ( Pinnacle Soft,and Pinnacle Rush ) Laugh if you like but the proof of the cake is in the eating. I’ve gone past the stage of if it isn’t no good if it’s cheap, or manufactured by a famous company. Mind you probably know who make Pinnacle golf balls, the best in the business. Look it up if you don’t know.

      Yeah sometimes companies have great ideas, but terrible execution. From what I've read, the old golf balls that tried bigger, ended up like you said. What I liked about them was because of the larger diameter, the ball hits closer to the center of the club face which improves contact.

    • @GolfBallAddict
      @GolfBallAddict Рік тому +2

      Depends on what you're looking for in a golf ball. You'll most likely lose a little bit of driver distance with that type of swing speed. I don't think you'll lose anything on the back end though. I think your irons and wedges will still be fine. If you're looking for a really really soft feel, with a ball that gets up in the air easy and goes straight, it could still be a good match for you. But if you're playing championship courses and you need a little extra distance you might want to look a little firmer

      I wonder if any of the launch monitors could in any way take into account the increased drag a larger ball would certainly have versus a standard size ball. I think without the ability to account for the larger size, the launch monitor is basing the distance on a standard sized ball. The launch angle and initial ball speed and initial spin numbers would seem to probably be not significantly affected by the larger size, but the flight and carry of the ball would be affected by it’s slightly larger size. Nick, play them on your usual home course and tell us what you think of the distance you experience out on the course, please.
