Just wanted to drop a line to compliment you guys on a superb series of unboxing reviews. Really helps me kind of get a better grasp of the value and potentials of not only the expansions, but each individual card. Top notch job!
The Ion Pulse missile dose not need you to spend the target lock. it just says to discard the missile card...like the Homeing missile. you keep the target lock on them even after fireing ..
12:20 I posted this on your TIE Defender review: "Rexler seems like he would be better with a significantly LOWER pilot skill, getting to pick someone to attack when you have better odds of them having lower or no shields." And here comes decoy to allow you to swap PS with a high attack, but low PS (thus cheaper) model, amazing.
Also I loved your comment in the review about an ability in one particular direction, so how about Han's pilot trait being "I know a few maneuvers, we'll loose them" making the Falcons 3 bank a green maneuver. How thematic is that for Star Wars lore, lol...
13:56 You said you would spend your target lock, but if you look at the card, you only discard the ion pulse missile. While the target lock is required, you do not spend it.
Decoy is going to be awesome on Biggs, especially against swarms that have initiate. keep a PS1 ship at range one, and decoy onto that ship, simultaneous attack rule keeps Biggs on the board until he shoots, and the FAQ means his pilot skill is still in play so they have to keep shooting at him even if he's taken enough damage to be removed
New to the game, addicted already, and bingeing your videos. It's like watching a tv series. You guys rock (it's also funny to see how you've changed... for good, for good.)
Decoy has some interesting uses - delaying the action given from Airen Cracken... It chains in a wacky way with swarm tactics. Though one of the uses I really like (maybe mentioned elsewhere?) is using Decoy with a ship that has opportunist - Now you can make it very likely that your opportunist talent can trigger.
I bought five and I think I'm going to play them in this manner. Five bandit squadrons (60 points). Biggs Darklighter with r2 d2 (29 points). To one of the the z95s I would play assault missiles if going against a swarm (5 points). Then, two of the other z95s could play the ion missile (6 points). This all together is a very interesting play theoretically atleast. Go in hard and utilize those secondaries and then keep Biggs close to protect those pesky little guys. This 6 ship rebel is one I certainly want to try esspecially against a large tie swarm. If I owned a few more z95s I would consider playing a larger swarm and using the wingman cards. I feel like munitions failsafe might also be an effective play esspecially with b wings and y wings. Another adaptation to my earlier list could be to scratch the two ion missiles and play two assault missiles one of which that has a munitio failsafe. May you never walk alone.
Airen Cracken w/ Engine Upgrade Tycho Celchu w/ Push the Limit + Concussion Missiles I feel like this has some synergy... Fly them as a pair, Cracken is given the engine upgrade to keep up with Celchu, and he gives Celchu a third action on top of the two he already had. I also think wingman has a place among TIE Interceptors, particularly those who have stress-inducing abilities like Fel w/ Push the Limit and Lieutenant Lorrir.
The decoy card would also be excellent if your higher pilot can't make a shot this turn but his lower skill wingman can so this will allow them to fire first...
I had that same thought, but they're unfortunately elite pilot traits. If they were just z95 only cards or something along those line that would be amazing.
The rule card for Ion Tokens say that after you execute the required maneuver that the player gets to remove all ion tokens, so what good does stacking ion tokens on a ship do?
Zack. You should throw "wingman" on one of your interceptors and fly him with soontir. PTL no longer has any negative consequences. Aaaaand you still take the stress initially to get you free focus.
Funny, I've always pronounced Blount as "blunt." e.g. Roy Blount, Jr.. Also, the "right bank-green" pilot would be called "Racsan" because he's a backwards Nascar driver...? No?
i like this game. Really. But 15 dollars per ship just kills it for me. I could buy a few lattes for what one toy ship costs . Heck, i could buy a used video game AND a latte.
+Tripp Fields But that latte ultimately just turns into human waste. X-Wing ships are forever! AND you gain access to one of the best game playing experiences of all time.
+Tripp Fields I play X Wing because its so cheap xD But maybe its because of the reason that i played Warhammer and Warhammer 40k before and put in thousand of Euros in my Armys over the years. Its just refreshing to just need a few modells to play, and i find them not very expensive. I mean they are looking great, detailled and have a lot of Cards to play with too.

Unique Pilot: Dale Earnheart Treat all left turns as green maneuvers.
Best comment ever.

He comes with Intimidation also, still a spot for Elite Pilot Skill. lol

+Brian M Except Biggs doesn't have an elite pilot skill slot

Haha, for good indeed! That is the hope anyway ;)

medallion, leadership - thanks for the chuckle lads!
What do you think of Z95 ships painted like the WWI Flying Circus aircraft for use as Scum and Villainy ships?
Terry Williams One word: yes!
Airen Cracken w/ Engine Upgrade
Tycho Celchu w/ Push the Limit + Concussion Missiles

If wingman were given each to a pack of z95s, the whole lot could k-turn without too much penalty...that's very powerful.

So you can ion a Falcon or Slave 1 in one shot.
Decoy is out of control good when put on a Tie Phantom. Am ' Right?

I can't believe that Steven doesn't know that Mara Jade flies a headhunter, and I'm disappointed that she isn't one of the pilots.
Bug Zappers. a bunch of these, Scum versions, with concussion missiles and feedback array.
your website says these are pre order. are they?
Yes, they are for preorder currently. We're expecting FFG to begin shipping in a few weeks.
Is it weird that whenever I see a ship I try to find out how many of them I can get in a list
Not at all! We all dream of full squadrons tearing across the board in formation!
Funny, I've always pronounced Blount as "blunt." e.g. Roy Blount, Jr.. Also, the "right bank-green" pilot would be called "Racsan" because he's a backwards Nascar driver...? No?
Beau Boutwell All good naming points :)

***** meh i see ur point, but for my opinion 15 for a tiny plastic ship is just kinda high

+NoLiveking87 Well to be fair, GW's prices make almost anything look cheaper lol
Sadly enough, youre right. And it doesnt get better at all. Maybe thats why i was looking for a new system the last months.^^
